Great tools nice battery life
Love the tools they packaged it very nice as well only negative thing they sent the bolts for the tools already installed and who ever installed them cross threaded them so now can’t use skil saw had to bare down on it just to get the bolt out to put on first blade but now won’t even go back in threads are messed up be nice if they would send another screw but other than that everything else was perfect for the price thank you SKIL TEAM

Great for first set
I ordered the set because it was on sale during prime day. Now I’ve used all of these tools from different manufacturers because of work and while the skil brand isn’t going to be quite as powerful as the higher priced brands it still holds up in weight and battery life. As my first personal set of each of these tools I’m very happy with the performance for the price.

Great set of tools!!!
I bought this set for home projects and building shoot houses at deer camp. We used them this weekend to build a porch for our camp bunkhouse. The circular saw breezed through 2x4s and the impact driver put in hundreds of screws without running down the battery. When we finally ran the battery down, the quick charger lived up to the name. For the price, you can’t beat this set of tools.

For the DIY, not quite Prosumer user.
It’s a handy kit with three tools that are very handy for the DIYer, and one that is nice to have. But first, a little background.SKIL recently changed ownership and the new company is very much targeting the DIY market. The new tools this year are made with that focus in mind…they aren’t quite at the level of professional-grade, but they do have some professional features which are nice to see at this price point. The power available at the 20V design, along with ergonomic and engineering designs coupled with light weight do make this a good choice for a homeowner who needs more-than-occasional use for these kinds of tools.I’ll start with the weight – yes, they are light, not cheap-light but rather a welcome kind of weight given that the user may be holding that saber-saw above his head and at arms length for awhile. The construction for all these tools is plastic, though there are rubber grips in places that should have grips. Since the battery adds significant weight to the tool, having the tool itself be as light as possible is very important.Speaking of the batteries – SKIL is trumpeting their new 20V technology, and indeed for the intended DIY application the battery supplies ample power. Having all the tools use the same battery adds to the flexibility, especially with power-hungry tools like the saber saw or the circular….very easy to swap out the old battery for a fresh one. They charge very fast as well, only taking about an hour to go from empty to full.So how are the tools? Let’s start from the beginning….Drill/Driver:Note, this is not an impact driver, but rather a serviceable unit for home applications. Only two speeds, but 17+1 clutch settings so it will work from small screws to working with 1/2″ drill bits. In using it I did a range of tests from drilling pilot holes to driving a 12″ wood screw lengthwise through a beam to using an auger bit through a 4×4, and the unit did a good job. Plenty of power and torque there, and it wasn’t power hungry…still had charge on the battery after a few hours of work.SKILsaw:This is the one I really pushed hard, mostly because SKIL made its name on the SKILsaw. I used this to cut apart some 1/2″ hardwood as well as 4×8 sheets. First, the blade that comes with the saw is really nice – at no point was anything binding or skipping. I really like the design of the blade guard and did not have to manually move it at all. This saw is clearly designed for cordless use, and it shows. I was able to use a single battery for all the work here, and performance was stable throughout.Saber Saw:Of the tools here, I think I was a bit disappointed with the saber saw. It’s light, and I really like the toolless design to swap blades…very easy to do and really makes life easier (indeed, many other reciprocating saws can learn a lot from this design). The foot adjusts easily at the angle, and changing the depth is easy with the included Allen key (which is stored on the device). HOWEVER, the action is only linear….in more professionally-oriented saber saws, there’s an orbital motion in addition to the linear that makes the cutting easier. This saw does not have that, which to me speaks to the intended user…someone who doesn’t make a living by using this tool. It works, but it’s not as graceful as others I’ve used. The spotlight:I view this as a nice-to-have, but it’s very handy. Great to have the pivoting head as well as the magnetic points so it can attach to a handy point during the job. I do think these things are a bit underrated, as having a general spotlight for the work area really helps the often-weak built-in LEDs that are on the tools themselves. That it uses the same battery as the other tools helps keep things organized…no having to keep two different kinds of batteries charged, and in a pinch if my saw runs out of power I can swap the light battery in and keep working. To close this up, I think there’s a lot of value here for a price-conscious DIYer. The tools are quality and have the kind of durability and features that make them work well in that area. I think professionals may turn up their noses a bit at the tools because of the target user here, namely the beginning or more experienced DIYer. However, I do think these tools, including the saber saw, are in the solid mid-to-upper tier of tools available for that user. I was able to do some pretty demanding things and they worked much better than I expected.

No Rip Guide
My wife bought me this set on sale and I love it. The only complaint I have is the 6.5″ circular saw didn’t come with the Rip guide. It seems to be an odd size, not sure and I can’t find one that will fit. All the ones I can find are .62″ and this saw is .5″. I have found 1-2 that have multi sizes so have one that will fit but have horrible reviews claiming they are cheaply made and not accurate. Has anyone found anything that will work or did mine mistakenly not come with one?

I had an old driver with a dead battery, and I got this to replace it. Was a good call.
I had an old Skil cordless drilldriver that the battery stopped holding an adequate charge (say >35 seconds use), and saw this and thought ‘Why not? I need to replace the driver, and I don’t have a sawz-all or cordless circular saw’, so I gave it a go.Driver is nicer than my old one, comes with a belt hanger hook, and works a treat. This is a standard tool, so there’s not much else to say – you pick your torquedirection and go.Light seems a little pointless – somewhere between a flashlight and an actual shop-light, it works, has a magnet for stick-on use, is adjustable angle (head) in relation to base, and there’s not really much more to say there.Reciprocating saw is a standard sawz-all type handheld, with a neat little tool-less keyed (direction) locking blade retainer. It goes from ‘just a little’ motion to lightning quick with a varied strength squeeze on the trigger, and I was a little sad I had nothing immediately needing to be cut to put it through its paces. Nice tool, new addition for me rather than a replacement – I’ve used Makita corded sawz-alls on large tree branches before, and I must say not having to drape and manage the cord seems like a huge advantage.Circular saw is another common tool, and while I have a beat-up old corded one in the garage, I have not had a cordless one before. This one also has adjustable depth (base angling with twist-tight securing screw) as well as verticalhorizontal tilt (also twist-tight secure screw once set) with several common angles marked for you. Works a treat, includes a vacuum attachment spigot to suck up and bag the sawdust, rather than just spitting it out all over your working surface (you must, of course supply the vacuum), and is a nice addition to my tool-set for me. Older saws (I may be showing my age a bit here) used to spin quite freely, slowing and stopping several seconds after you released the trigger, while this has a sort of spin-resistance that causes to blade to stop spinning a LOT faster than I’m used to. You’ll feel what I’m talking about here if you physically spin the blade by hand (battery OUT, of course). I was slightly put-off by this while I debated the likliehood of ‘deign quirk’ vs. ‘safety feature’, but eventually decided this was a better idea, as ‘I let go but it cut me anyway when I dropped it’ probably outnumber anyone actually putting their fingers inadvertently in-path.Overall, while I think including some other tool than a flashlight might make for a better multi-tool package (or omitting it could bring the price down), I knew what I was getting when I ordered it, pricing is competitive with other manufacturers’ similar offerings, and I’m quite happy with what I got.Skill isn’t Makita, but their stuff has held up well for me in the past (that dead driver battery is about two decades old – I can’t reasonably expect more than that, and I’ve never had a Skill motor burn out or bits crackshearfall off), and the DeWalt stuff I’ve gotten has been spotty the past decade to 15 years (motor issues, cracked plastic), so this is a good pricing ‘sweet spot’ for DIY folks like myself. Recommended for those looking to add a few tools to their arsenal at a reasonable price. If you do construction or renovation for a living, you’ll probably buy top-tier, but for those of us doing occasionallight use project work, this is more than sufficient.

Best set for any household
SKIL PWRCore 20 4-Tool Combo KitEverything you need to keep your home in shape. We got one of these sets for each of our sons when they moved into their own home. So many little projects can be completed with the set. Putting together bookshelves and furniture. Installing a ceiling fan. Adding shelves to bedroom closets. Installing wooden floors to update living area. Installing curtain rods for those new curtains. Trimming bushes and plants in Spring. Everyone of these “honey do” tasks can be completed with this set.Set includes 4 tools; 2 batteries and a charger.SKIL 20V ½ inch cordless drill driverSKIL 20V 1-inch reciprocating sawSKIL 6 1/2” circular sawSKIL 20V spotlightThe best part of this set is the two batteries. This gives you the ability to use the spotlight while using one of the other tools. Or, it gives you an extra battery when one runs out on longer projects.SKIL 20V ½” Cordless Drill includes a keyless chuck. It has two speed settings with a forward/reverse. There’s even an LED light to indicate whether it’s on forward or reverse! It also includes a work light with pre-light, so necessary when working in dark corners. And will rest on your work belt with the its clip. The SKIL 20V 1-Inch Reciprocating Saw has an adjustable pivoting shoe with a variable speed trigger. It, too, includes an LED work light that has a pre-lights and after-glow.The SKIL 6-1/2 Inch Cordless Circular Saw is great for cutting wood, especially when those storms are coming, and you need to board up your windows. Its powerful motor has speed settings up to 4500 RPMs. It includes a 24-tooth carbide-tipped blade. It can bevel up to 50 degrees and can cut a depth of 2” at 90 degrees. It’s very comfortable to handle and includes a lock-off trigger. It also features a saw line visor and LED light. The SKIL 20V LED Spotlight is exactly what my husband’s older eyes needs. We are always lugging around a big lamp for those dark work areas. This spotlight is easy to carry around, uses the extra battery, has a medium and high brightness and will pivot. It also has two magnets on the back to keep in place or use the hook to hang. The greatest news about this set is the additional battery. It includes two SKIL 2.0Ah PWRCore 20 Lithium Batteries. They both include a green LED fuel gauge which indicates how much power you have left in the battery. They will work with any SKIL 20V tool. The charger will charge a drained battery in an hour. It includes a charge status light and has keyholes to mount on the wall.

Excellent starter set
I’m reviewing the SKIL 20V 4-Tool Combo Kit.I have been wanting to transition from my dated, wired tools (including an old Skil corded drill) to a battery powered set. This set has four essential components: Cordless Drill Driver, Reciprocating Saw, Circular Saw and LED Spotlight. I purchased a jigsaw separately. There is one charger and 2 batteries included.Starting with the driver, it comes with one Phillips head bit. You’ll have to get a driver tip set separately. It works well and I was able to use it to install a weather station outside. My only issue with the driver is that it doesn’t stand up on its own (as pictured) without the battery (it tips forward). The LED spotlight is bright and could be useful for peering into tight spaces or just to use in your work area. I think a 20V lithium ion battery is overkill for powering a LED but it does come in handy.I used the circular saw to saw some plywood and it worked remarkably well. I’ve been highly skeptical of a cordless circular saw but this one cut just fine. It comes with one 20-tooth blade. The reciprocating saw is the one item I haven’t used yet. It comes with one blade. These have their use and I will use it when doing upcoming DIY work. This set is a great starter for a home based DIY user like me who doesn’t want to struggle with cords. It is also great when you are working in areas outside the range of an outlet or in areas with no outlet at all.I’ve used the SKIL brand for years. They’ve been good products and SKIL once replaced a defective charger for me without any cost. This set as a 5 year warranty which is good.I wish they had a leaf blower option but for now they have a nice array of tools that use this battery configuration.Overall, this is a very useful set. You’ll be wondering why you didn’t get it sooner.

Great Bundle Of Power Tools, Very Nicely Thought Out Design, Work Better Than I Expected
I am very happy with this cordless power tool bundle. It’s almost everything I need to replace the 40 year old power tools I got from my father. I need good power tools for the occasional home repair or small project. Not like I’m working in construction or something more intense so my needs are not that demanding. This these tools give me almost everything I want except a jigsaw. I can get the compatible jigsaw and I’ll have a cohesive set of tools for all kinds of work around the house. Outstanding! My first use was the drill to remove a damaged Philips head screw in a laptop. This is pretty fine work but the low torque gearbox settings with the fine trigger speed control got the job done very nicely. Better than I was expecting at handling this delicate job. I found all the tools have similar operating controls and a well thought out design. All these power tools feel good in my hand. With the battery mounted they balance very well. The controls are such that when one tool is mastered the controls of the rest work consistently and intuitively. All these tools are more powerful than I thought (well, except the work lamp which is bright as I expected). The LED lights on the drill and other tools help illuminate my work in what I find a most helpful way. Just good thinking to make them all a delight to work with. The batteries came about half charged and got to full charge with the included charger in less than an hour each. Fast enough for me. The two included batteries are plenty for me, but if you are doing larger work get more and maybe get the 5A batteries if you need the extra power.I’m very pleased with this power tool bundle from Skil. As the occasional worker with power tools it’s important to me they be intuitive to use and well designed as with these. Also as I’m on the older side I like that the manuals are downloadable as PDF documents and I can zoom them on my screen and search them. All these power tools have exceeded my expectations and each offers me everything I want in each tool for use around my home. That’s why I’m giving this Skil power tool bundle 5 stars.

Thoughtfully Designed Lightish Tools
I’d say the reciprocating saw is the star of this collection. It certainly has a better mechanism for locking in the blade than my Dewalt 20V Max; a simple twist to insert and remove. I no longer feel like it takes 3 hands to get the blade in place. It’s light, in a good way, and takes a standard blade. I attached a green blade to it and it was easily going through 3 inch tree branches.Power is about where you’d expect 20V tools to be. The circular saw goes through 2×6s easily enough; even ripping. God help you if you want to cut at a 45° angle though; you’ll quickly be looking for a miter saw. The drill driver is not a particularly beefy tool with a plastic chuck cover and only 2 gear settings; I reviewed a SKIL hammer drill recently and that was certainly more tool. But if you mainly hang pictures, the lighter tool is what you want anyway. If anything, I’d say the selling points are some nice little features: lights, magnets on the back of the flashlight, battery level indicators on the batteries, rubberized grips all over…

Surprising Power!
I’ve always sworn by corded devices for my power tools, mostly because battery-powered devices simply don’t have the torque I need to get the job done. Be it cutting up branches or old furniture, or really pounding a screw into a stubborn wall, I’ve always relied on the corded tools to do the job. That’s all fine and good until you need to work outside, away from an outlet. That’s where these tools come in.The power of these tools is surprisingly good for cordless, and I mean that for both the storage capacity of hte battery as well as the strength of the tools themselves. You get four tools, all using 20-volt batteries: a drill driver, reciprocating saw, circular saw, and spotlight. You also get two batteries and a charger. The spotlight is fine for what it is, but given that you have two batteries, it’s a great way to use that additional power if you don’t think you’ll need it elsewhere (and you shouldn’t for most projects). I have a much larger reciprocating saw, so this smaller one is great for smaller jobs. I don’t have a circular saw, which I could have used for some of the Cub Scout projects my son worked on. And I definitely need the drill for outdoor projects that are far away from cords. The value in a set like this is its portability. The battery lasts long enough for most projects, the tools are light, and all that adds up to you being more likely to tackle projects you might not otherwise. Keep the charger handy and you might find yourself drill and cutting a lot more!

Comes with everything needed, batteries, blades
This is a good value for the price. Normally we buy Makita mainly but thought that the skill saw set might help with a labor-intensive project we’ve got going. We were pleasantly surprised that the quality of this say it is much better than we normally would expect from Skil.It wad pretty much everything we needed right. out of the box. It comes mostly charged up so it can be used as soon as it comes in. The flashlight is really nice with a very very strong magnet on it. We’ve been keeping it all inside of a refrigerator, way up top on this side and it stays there because the magnet is seriously strong. It is handy for so much and having it there is a place to hold family knows where it is so we can easily get to it if there’s a blackout. The the box includes the saw blades needed. It’s important to save and read your manuals because if you don’t it’s hard to locate your lock and chuck keys that are needed. My favorite is the 6 1/2 inch radial saw. It’s wonderful that it is rechargeable because in building a shed you aren’t tied to a power line and can just take it with you. What does rubber grips on everything and they’re very comfortable. It comes with two 20 v lithium batteries and one battery charger. The batteries provide hours of use.the cordless radial saw has all the features of our regular corded saw. (Bevel, raise & lower depth)The one downside is there’s no case or bag of any kind to keep keep it all in.

3 of 4 are essential tools made well. The light, not so much.
I really like these multi tool sets. A long time ago I got a Makita set that had more tools than this, and from that experience I know that you don’t really need too much variety to make things work.Three of the four tools included are indispensable and make this a great tool kit for any homeowner: The drill is the one you will use the most. The circular saw is the one I use the next most often. and the reciprocating saw is perhaps the one i use the least, because I don’t have much need to for rough cuts. The LED light is the one item I just wish they had left out. I’m not going to ding the set for this, but I would much rather pay a few dollars less and leave it out. There are many other lights that are made to tighter, better technical specifications. Its just the weakest link in this set and I haven’t used it at all. Or, give me a jigsaw and charge a little more. The reciprocating saw I have mostly used to cut down small trees and then section them into pieces. It works great for this. I do have a very nice pair of loppers but its very satisfying to use the reciprocating saw.Overall I would really recommend this for yourself or as a very thoughtful gift that the recipient can make great use of for years to come.

Great set to have around
This is a very nice set, with the emphasis on “SET”. Having a single set with multiple tools allows me to keep a much smaller number of batteries charging in my workroom. I had never really notice how much real estate the chargers were using up until I added two more that could handle the three most common tools and a flashlight rather than being one-offs.A few other things I like:1. Batteries hold a charge for a long time. I have an older driver with much higher (in theory) capacity batteries, but these both die far faster than this one. Just yesterday, I grabbed my older drill out of habit, popped in a battery fresh from the charger, and was out of power before I could finish the job. I grabbed the drill from this set and a battery that had not seen a charger in six weeks and was able to finish the job at full power. This was not just an old vs. new battery problem–these were relatively new batteries and they had never lasted that long.2. Coming with two batteries is great–as stated above, the power lasts a long time, so that has not typically been a concern. However, having the ability to use the spotlight and another tool at the same time is a huge benefit.3. The batteries are relatively low profile. Compared to others, they do not change the size of the tool by 33% when you snap them in.Overall, I have been very happy with this set and do not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I have tested every piece and am VERY happy
I was VERY happy to receive this set and it has not disappointed. Every one of these units is little masterpiece of technology. Being curious of how this brand would stand up, I have tested every piece of it, individually. The spot light is impressive. I have been using it every night. The ergonomics (grip) are perfect and the light is bright, with good area coverage. It has two trigger-button settings. If you pull it again, it goes to a lower light setting, which presumably helps to sustain longer battery usage.I tested the circ saw — it comes with one blade — on some very hard stumps and it cuts nicely. There is an Allen wrench attached on the right side of the saw handle that you might miss if you aren’t looking for it.I tested the recip saw — it comes with one blade — for over an hour today on some very tough wood and even small dried limbs. It is impressive and never has lost power. The drill worked great and doesn’t need any special chuck. The 20V batteries provide a reliable amount of sustained power. The re-charger worked perfectly, with indicator lights. Note: For this particular system, “It is not recommended that the battery pack remain on the charger for more than 24 hours.” So, if you are used to leaving a landscaping battery on the charger year-round, as I have done with the 18V tools, don’t do it with this set.Highly recommended.

Fantastic collection of tools
I continue to be more and more impressed these days with battery operated tools. I prefer them rather than deal with the hassle of power cords. That said, the power force isn’t always up to par when comparing battery-operated tools with electricity. For the past several years, I’ve been using battery operated tools in the garden (hedge trimmers, weed eaters, etc.) but have not ventured too much into the carpentry tool territory.I am loving this excellent collection of 4 tools which consists of a drill, a spotlight, circular saw and reciprocating saw. Two 20v lithium batteries are included as well as a charger. It is good to have multiple batteries as you can be charging one (or more) while using the other. I find that the battery life is very good and generally lasts long enough for me to finish a small project. The tools are very lightweight but pack a lot of power. I was especially impressed with the circular saw (I used it to cut 2x4s and had no problems at all). I have not used the reciprocating saw yet but both the circular saw and the drill (with 2 speeds) perform beautifully. The spotlight is also a handy tool to have around and didn’t really realize that until I had one.All in all, an excellent collection of high performing tools and a good price.

This is a quality cordless kit for the homeowener and a great value!
Great set of tools… I am comparing this SKIL 20V set to the plenty others I’ve had in the last 35 years, including 12V Milwaukee, 18V Hitachi (every tool) and also 18V Makita (most tools). Other than not being ‘full pro’ I can’t find a thing that isn’t top notch. Whenever you buy into a cordless set, you are really buying into a battery system.. this one’s good at 20V, lithium, lightweight and having a 4-bar power meter. The plastics are rugged. The grips are grippy. The drill has a white target LED like many others these days, but it also has forward and reverse green LEDs that vary in brightness depending on speed.. never saw that before! The rest of the tools are of similarly excellent quality. This Skil set quality feels better than Ryobi, Ridgid or Worx at the same price point. A similar set by the other top brands (Makita, Milwaukee, etc.) cost significantly more. At under two hundred and with two batteries, this is a really good deal.

A great set of basic tools
One should have these tools around the house as they come in handy for a variety of tasks. Now that I’ve managed to use all of them I think that they work quite well. The look well built, well designed, and have good safety features. The saws are strong enough for chopping up the usual lumber (2x4s, etc) and even large Christmas trees and the spotlight comes in handy for all sorts of lighting jobs. I’ll probably even bring it as a camp light due to its brightness and practicality. The only point of some concern is that they are battery driven. That means that they will only work for so long before you have to recharge the battery. For the small jobs that I used them on so far that was not an issue but it could be for bigger ones or if the batteries are not (fully) charged when the tools are needed. One other potential issue is that there is really no standard for these batteries. I just recently had to throw our a perfectly good drill driver because the batter gave out and I could not find a replacement.

Good but limited
This is a four-tool set, but you can read the list in the product page for the details. I have to say I’m impressed. For rather small power tools, and cordless to boot, this set delivers the goods. It’s terrific for around the house repairs and minor projects. Now don’t think that some of these tools can out-performs you old trusty corded models, and though carpenters nowadays customarily use cordless equipment, these SKILs aren’t as strong as that. I would say that is especially true for the drill, which lacks sufficient power for serious jobs. I was surprised at the strength of the saw. I didn’t think anything this dinky would do the trick, but it surely did. The charger delivers a fairly rapid dose, normally about two hours. The tools are lightweight and thus easy to move around with. The belt clips are a nifty bonus. All in all I can recommend this SKIL tool set to any home do it yourselfer (like me). Just keep in mind that this is not major equipment that emphasizes power over all; here it’s rather convenience. To sum up: highly recommended, with a caveat.

The Best Set I’ve Ever Had
This tool set is absolutely amazing. It’s everything I ever wanted. The fact that you have two batteries is huge. You can always have one charging while you use another. And the tools all have built-in lights! Gone are the days of trying to hold a flashlight while you sawed or drilled. When you pull the trigger on any of these devices, they automatically shine a light that’s perfectly lined up to show you what you’re working on.These feel incredibly well built and are wonderful in your hands. They’re sturdy and powerful. I’m not a professional, but for doing work around the house, these are legitimately everything I’ve ever wanted when it comes to handheld power tools.

life saving for me as a widow
My husband died six months ago, and I didn’t know all the ins and outs of his tools. So I reset everything in a way, by getting a totally different set and learning them. These are great. I might not be the best judge, because I am so new to power tools, but they have worked well and made a lot of sense to me.
