Denali Drill looks good but not yet field tested
Received my new Amazon Denali drill ADL5275B-00. Moderate weight and good strength. I ordered the model with 2Ah lithium batteries. Disappointed double battery drill did not come with a carrying bag. Drill operates with a “brushed motor” and has three vents holes on the top rear of the drill motor for cooling. Motor runs well but small electrical arcs are visible through the unscreened vent holes. Should not be a problem during normal operation but could be in wet or dirty locations. I have yet to take Ms Denali for a test drive and ll revise my review after the trial

Very nice, and a great deal … I may stick to “Amazon Brand” products in the future.
I thought just getting an inexpensive model would suffice, but my first was DOA, so I paid a bit extra for this one. I thought that Amazon would only put their name on products they tested and judged to be good, and sure enough, they backed a winner with this Denali.

Motor sparked – – – exchanged item.
The motor sparked whenever I actuated the drill. I posted a question about whether this was defective and/or dangerous and got mixed responses. However, I subsequently tried out the drill in a darkened room and discovered that it wasn’t just “sparking”, it was sending out “shooting stars”, so I am exchanging it. If the replacement does the same thing, I’ll return it for a refund.(I’m disappointed, I liked the drill. Compact, powerful. Just what I wanted if it weren’t for the fireworks.}EDIT (Dec. 22nd): The replacement still sparked but not as badly and there were hardly any shooting stars so I decided to keep it, hoping that, with use, whatever is causing the sparking will smooth out.

Junk

Bearing broke

It’s a pretty good drill/driver
This is not a “named brand” drill/driver. It may not be the best, but its definitely better than your average drill/driver. I have no complaints with the usage around the house. I’m not putting it to heavy duty “daily” usage, but for all the chores that I have around the house it gets the job done. Especially good for the price and what comes with it. I like that it comes with a bag, drill bits, and attachments. It’s a great starter kit.

Good Quality Cordless Drill
An overall all good quality drill and comes in a nice starter set.The drill is constructed well, and the materials are better than other budget drill sets that I have owned/used in the past. The drill does have open vents, which I found a bit surprising when I used it for the first time due to the spark of the brush motor. There is a small electrical current and some small sparking visible, this is normal. However, excessive sparking and the smell of burning is a sign of a failing drill and should be immediately discarded/replaced.The torque power of the drill is good for drilling into soft wood, which is used for almost every application of construction and carpeting material. In other words, I was able to drill an anchor screw into a 2×4 through my drywall for a picture frame. I don’t know how effective this will be at drilling through metal or masonry, since I don’t have the drill bits for such tasks.The includes accessories that come with the drill are a set of drill bits, which are forged well and more resilient than that of other budget sets. A single battery and its charger, which the battery has a decent charge life, and the charger is more unique looking than other budget sets. And the set I received came with a cloth tool bad, that holds the whole set which I really like a lot; due to the fact that you can put other tools into it as well.Overall, this drill set is a good buy for someone who wants an affordable cordless drill for around the house tasks and maybe some light carpentry work.

I absolutely love this set and use it all the time! Between diy projects in the garage, renovations in the house, or just random side projects, this drill has been just as good as my Makita or Black and Decker’s. The battery lasts through every project and I typically only have to charge every week or so depending on use. Definitely can recommend purchasing.

Not very tough
I needed a 20V drill with a 1/2 inch chuck to attach to my ice auger for ice fishing but didn’t want to spend big money on a name brand drill. Unfortunately this drill doesn’t have enough torque to cut through the ice. It stops 4 or 5 times and I have to back it out and try again. I borrowed the yellow equivalent 20V name brand drill from a friend to compare and cut through 2′ of ice without problem. By way of comparison this drill has only 350 lbs torque whereas the yellow name brand drill has 530 lbs torque. Too bad I’m outside of the 30-day return period and now I’m stuck with it. It would probably be fine for day to day tasks, but not for higher torque applications. If I were to do it again, I’d spend the extra money and get the name brand drill.

Perfect for household use
The picture shows what comes in the box. I gave it a try for all the little things I’ve been putting off. I had a cabinet door coming loose, a plant stand that needed to be fixed, and a curtain rod bracket that was coming loose from the drywall. it worked great for all of these. The drill is easy to hold. Great for little household projects like mine. The battery lasted for all my little household projects with nearly full power remaining. I wanted something that I felt comfortable using, was simple, and would suffice for the little projects that I end up doing myself. This was perfect for that. If someone was going to need it for industrial use, it probably isn’t the drill you want. I love it for what I need though. Simple and efficient and not cumbersome to hold.

Good drill that’s been working well for me.
This drill works well and it’s been a handy set. I think what might be confusing some people about whether it comes with a case or not is which set they order. The set that comes with the drill bits comes with a case. The set that comes with two batteries and no bits also doesn’t appear to come with a case. So if you’re wanting a case then you’ll probably want the same set I ordered, that comes with just a single battery and the drill bits.Overall the drill has worked well on my at-home projects. It charges up quickly and has plenty of power for the types of jobs I’m using it for. Very pleased with it.

top of the line
its not going to compare to like an impact driver but for your everyday household uses most of us are going to want a drill for its got plenty of power. only been using about a month so cant attest to the durability but its power is holding up thru a few charges and doesnt seem to lose much after that first few recharges like most cordless drills do.

Smaller Drill
This may be a small drill compared to others, but it’s heavy just the same. It holds a good charge and love the light that brightens up the area your working on. It comes with a tool bag big enough for other stuff as well. Bag is made well, sturdy. This is a good drill to use around the home, possible even more involved projects. Don’t have any major projects right now, but wanted this as a back up to my cordless heavy duty drill.

Good quality drill with nice bonus accessories
I’ve been a life long Skil brand customer and this drill meets my expectations for the brand. The drill is powerful and well made it has all of the functionality that I would expect from a basic cordless drill. The 1/2″ chuck has solid smooth action and locks onto bits securely. The onboard light is bright and illuminates the work path well. The kit came very well equipped with a 2ah battery, a small slide on charger, a good quality soft sided canvas tool bag with plenty of room for what was included with room to spare for an extra battery. The kit also came with a magnetic bit tip holder, an assortment 32 bit tips, a tip/driver organizer and (3) good quality cobalt drill bits (1/4″, 3/16″ & 1/8″).

It is exceptional and the performance is awesome for all my projects. It is very well built and it fits perfectly in my hands. It is 20v drill with 36 bits. Decent starter drill set. A couple observations though.
This review is for: Amazon Brand – Denali by SKIL 20V Drill Driver Kit with 36-Piece Bit Set, Includes 2.0Ah Lithium Battery, 1A Compact Charger, and Carry Bag (Drill Driver, Battery, 1A Charger & Bit Set)This is a decent price for a starter drill set. You get the drill, one battery, one charger, some bits, and a case.I’m confused by the options available on this listing. It makes sense to have TWO batteries so you can always be using one while the other is charging. But if I want TWO batteries, I don’t get the bits. If I want the bits, I don’t get the other battery. You can’t seem to get the entire package.Also, and I know this is a small thing, but there is no where to store bits on the drill. Most decent drills, these days, have a place to store one or two bits at the base of the handle somewhere. It’s little things like this that make a difference when getting tasks done.This is a 20v drill, so it has a fair amount of power. The price is right and I do like that it has a case.Hope this was helpful.

Good performance, poor choice on battery
This is the fourth regular driver drill I have in my house, including professional, and non-professional grades.Overall, this is a fine basic option for household work. It’s a bit no-frills, but includes sufficient standard items that you probably won’t notice anywhere it lacks. It has good torque while remaining lightweight.Unfortunately, where this tool loses points is the battery choices that were made. This tool comes with a single 2AH battery. By comparison, the hammer drill variant, which has the capacity to be used as a regular drill comes with two batteries. For minimal additional cost and greater flexibility, the hammer drill offers longer sustained work by having the second battery, making it a better option than this. The decision to only provide a single battery on this tool, feels like an oversight, since regular drills are one of the most common heavy use household pieces of equipment.

good kit for small home project
This drill kit is great for small project at home. It’s lightweight and easy to handle for me. I find the pro ones rather heavy and intimidating. The bit set is perfect for all the small works around the house. I was able to install a pet gate and blink doorbell easily with it. I like that it comes with a carrying bag so I can keep everything in one place and keep them organized. It’s a perfect kit of household uses.

Good for home projects
This is a nice drill/driver. It has everything needed for home projects. It is cordless. It has a battery and charger. it has a set of bits. It has a bag to hold everything. The drill is easy to hold. I do home projects like putting together furniture, putting back cabinets, hanging stuff, etc. So, for myself, this drill is perfect. The current price is a good price point. If someone needs a drill driver for a professional job, this item probably isn’t enough, but for home projects, it works quite well.

I can’t use it because the keyless chuck is missing and the bit extender? had a bit shoved into the wrong end.Definitely a disappointing experience. Reached out to customer service with no response.

Handy to use
The drill is not very heavy and perfect to have around the house for the small jobs that seem to pop up randomly. There is a whole set of bits one can use, though I mainly stick to the two main one. There is only one battery and it does not last super long, so keep that in mind or get an extra battery. It charges pretty quick though so that’s a good thing.

Perfect starter drill/driver kit
This kit is a great starter kit for a drill/driver. It is a great value for the price, as it comes with a basic, brushed motor drill/driver, three drill bits, a small set of driver bits, a 2.0Ah battery, a small charger, and a soft-sided carrying bag. The drill itself works well and is great for any DIY type of person just starting out and not sure what to get. This Denali set is both made by SKIL and compatible with all the other Denali and SKIL 20V tools, so there is a great selection of tools to expand to using the same battery platform as you grow. The one 2.0Ah battery is large enough to last through any typical DIY repair around the home with ease. The included carrying case gives a nice place to store everything and still has plenty of room to add more tools later.

A Good Home Projects Drill Set
The cordless 2 Ah drill is a good tool to have for light duty home use. I would suggest using the Denali 20V 1/2″ chuck drill for the majority of your home projects and using a heavier duty perhaps 5 Ah drill for deep bore drilling projects. I used the Denali drill tool for assembling a furniture piece requiring 60 repetitive screw settings. The battery retained a full charge after completing the project with the battery status indicator showing 4 bars -full charge. The drill plus battery weighs only 3.2 lbs.

First impressions, this set came wonderfully packaged in a good sized box. I love the different drill bits and pieces that are included. This box comes with 32 interchangeable screw bits, and 3 different sized drill bits ***1/8 HSS drill bit| 3/16″ HSS drill bit| 1/4″ HSS Drill bit****, Drill Driver, 2.0 Ah Battery, 1 A charger and the storage bag. This drill set is easy to set up and use, I live that the charging base shows the battery charge progress and I love that you can check the battery levels on the installed battery pack on the Drill driver itself. I’m in love with this set, and I live the quality. Very satisfied and happy.

Works and feels good
Works and feels great. The two speeds are nice. The low speed is very torquey. I found the high speed on a low battery isn’t quite enough to fully set a sheetrock screw, but the low speed never faltered. As long as the battery is charged the high speed worked fine too. I debated on buying a different brand but for $5 more a drill and 2 batteries was a better deal. Besides, the other brand build THIS brand.
