We ABSOLUTELY LOVE this product!!!
We’ve been using this since our little one was a newborn and we just absolutely LOVE everything about it! She has had baby eczema since month 3 or 4 and we found out the hard way that bubble baths are a big no-no! We did try the one for sensitive skin but it was actually not as good as this one for her skin! We definitely recommend this!

Messy and Used
I’m personally a big fan of this product, due to my daughter having sensitive skin. The scent is pleasant, her hair is super soft, and her skin feels clean. This is my first time ordering it from Amazon, however and I’m incredibly disappointed. I’m not upset with the product itself, but more so how it arrived and it appears I’m not the only one who’s had an issue. Despite there being a seal to prevent the product from leaking, it still leaked. There’s clumps of dried soap around the pump (this was only ordered 2 days ago) and a significant amount is missing. When I washed the bottle off and push on the pump, soap was instantly coming out which gives me the impression that it has been used before. Usually when you purchase something new, you must push the pump a handful of times before product comes out. When you’re paying almost $15 for a product, this is pretty disappointing and upsetting.

Perfect for allergy-prone skin
My son has had skin allergies his whole life, we have struggled to find a body wash that doesn’t make his skin break out in hives. Burt’s bees is one of the only kinds that has consistently worked for him. Wonderful product.

Expensive but worth it
I’ve used this for my kid for 4 years. It’s super gentle, suds up well, and smells good. It’s worth the price for a pure and natural soap. I used it on her when she was an infant until now. It does not strip her skin of moisture. Will continue to buy.

Good shampoo por kids, but the cap comes off, needs design fix
WE have been using this shampoo for years. The pump is very convenient but it has a consistent flaw, the cap comes off. We take it to swimming lessons and need to make an effort to not loose it. Please fix this.

Burt’s bees is the best… but
I hate this scent. And it is impossible to get off your hands without washing them with a heavier duty soap. I only use a tiny amount of this in the kids bath for a bubble bath so it isn’t too overpowering or it gives me a headache after like 5 mins.

Burts bees baby wash
I will start by saying that I have been using burts bees baby wash for a few months now and that I have noticed the soap has been more watery each time I order. This is not because you buy from amazon as other people have stated on their reviews. I go to department stores such as Target, Walmart, Babies R Us, etc. and notice that the Burts Bees soap is the same way. The company probably changed the ingredients. I still enjoy this wash very much. My son had very sensitive skin(gets it from me) & we have tried many different brands and this is the only one that doesn’t cause him to break out in a rash.***** if you are trying to figure out which burts bees baby wash product to purchase:Calming: I found it did not do anything for EITHER of my babies nor myself. I have noticed that this is the most watery product. This also leaves a weird film in the bath tub and is not very bubbly. I noticed I had to use twice as much than usual and went through my bottles much much quicker.Original: this is the best smelling soap. It is watery but not as much as the “calming.”Fragrance free: pretty self explanatory (will not make baby smell good). This soap is much thicker than the other two options. I put a lightly scented lotion on the kids anyways so I found I didn’t need the extra frangrance. Definitely get more bubbles in the bath tub also!

A good product, just wish there wasn’t the “fragrance”
I have been using this on my boys for years. I do like it for a lot of reasons. It is made almost entirely of natural ingredients (I won’t put anything unsafe on my boys)It has a pleasant scentIt is naturally tear-free (a must for my kids)It makes wonderful bubbles and can double as a bubble bath potionIt cleans well, leaves their skin soft, and isn’t dryingIt rinses off easily and out of hair easilyMy boys smell really nice after their bathI would have given it a 5 stars, but…The reason for the nice scent is “fragrance.” I have seen other Burt’s Bees Baby Products that specify if the fragrance comes from natural-plant based ingredients. This one doesn’t. “Fragrance” is listed in the Environmental Working Groups’s website as a toxin. If it is just listed as “fragrance,” it usually means it is synthetic. It isn’t 100% plant-based toxin-free ingredients. If it was, I would have definitely given it a 5 star rating. However, it is a good quality product, and I still feel okay using it on my sons. It is just that nowadays, you can find products that are made with 100% plant-based ingredients and perform just as well, or better, than this one. I am going to be switching to another product that smells even better, but the scent comes from essential oils that are 100% natural. That being said, I have used this for years, and I don’t regret it one bit!

Amazon was good, no complaints about the arrival or packaging
Amazon was good, no complaints about the arrival or packaging. The complaint is with Chlorox and your QA/QC person. I am a forensic chemist. There are significant differences in color between my old bottle and the new bottle that I received with this order. More, the viscosity between the two lots was also significantly different. This new lot was much less viscous, and produces a lot less suds. Same exact label. I then went to Kroger, bought one off the shelf, and it is was a lot whiter and and viscous than both. Either the Mafia is now hijacking and adulterating Burt’s Bees product (expensive enough there could be some profit in it), or chlorox has cheapened its product production, or its quality control, or….That reduction in viscosity and it coming across more “watery” has me concerned regarding product stability and microbial contamination. If you are going to have a product that watery, then you need to load it up with anti-microbial preservatives. The third issue with this new lot is that the product is much more cloudy that the old lot. Like either the glucosides are precipitating because there is a difference in the pH between the two lots, or that is a bacterial/fungal growth.Needless to say, I am not using this package shipment, and went out and got some Ivory soap for the kids.I buy Burt’s Bees because I knew the Formulator before it was sold to Chlorox, and as PCP go, this stuff was fairly good. The products coming out of Chlorox’s Burt’s Bees, I was buying them and using them on my Children. It was that good. Whatever jackass executive is letting things slide, get rid of them, and bring back your quality product. Don’t screw this brand up!Chlorox – Fix this, and fix this fast!P.S. How about for 2019, you put the ingredients for the fragrance on the label? “natural fragrance” is marketing BS. Give us honesty and transparency. We are all desperate to trust a product, your products. Earn our trust!

Used To Love – Now Seems Watered Down 🙁
This used to be my go-to baby wash for my toddler. It was gentle, made him smell great and the rich formula helped keep his skin moisturized. My recent purchase had a slightly different bottle but a completely different baby wash. Now it seems completely watered down. I was so disappointed that I contacted Burt’s Bees/Clorox and am still waiting to hear back.

Best baby wash ever
This is the only baby wash I’ve used for all 4 of my kids since 2008. I’ve tried others, but nothing compares. The gentle sent is pleasant even for someone very sensitive to fragrances…. and lingers just enough on baby’s skin/hair. It also makes pretty good bubbles when added to flowing water. I gift this for every baby shower and highly recommend for every mama and baby you love!!

Great smell, great bubbles
When you have your first kid you try all the brands you are gifted. I was team aveeno (and still am w lotion) but was gifted this. I’m now hooked 3 yr later and we buy only this soap for baby. It makes great bubbles for bubble bath and serves as wash and shampoo, all w a pump. A one hand one stop shop. The smell is lovely and sweet like honey and my daughter rubs it in her eyes bc she thinks it’s funny so it’s def tear free. We love this soap. It being great for bubble bath is a super plus! Not all baby soaps can hang in the bubble category. Ahem aveeno.

UPDATED DEC 2020 – Gave my newborn a face rash 🙁
UPDATE: So I just wanted to apologize to Burt’s Bees because I found out the rash my newborn had was from an egg allergy. Apparently this is pretty typical for newborns and tends to last around a year. We’ve been using the Burt’s Bees line of products (because we purchased the set) that includes the wash, oil and lotion and we haven’t noticed any rashes. I can’t say for sure if this is the case for other reviewers that noticed rashes on their newborns, but if any other mommas like me EBF (exclusively breastfeed) their babies and notice rashes, I’d say have their pediatrician test their diaper (poo) for any (temporary) allergies! I would’ve never guessed.INITIAL REVIEW: I really wanted to love this product since I’m a huge fan and customer of Burt’s Bees, however using this wash (along with the Burt’s Bees baby oil) on my newborn gave him a horrible rash all over his face. I’m a FTM, but my sister saw him and recommended pHisoderm. I’m trying it out (just got it yesterday) but the reviews are promising. But yeah I hate to be THAT guy that leaves a bad review, but I had to. I don’t typically leave reviews but I think any mom, especially FTM like me has a right to know the truth. I was so devastated by his acne so I’m hoping the new soap will clear things up as quickly as people are saying.

Perfect from Newborn to Toddler
We’ve used this on my daughter since birth, and she’s almost 2 now. Scent, gentleness to eyes/skin/hair, etc. are perfect. My only comment is that as she’s gotten older and switched from a little tub to our bathtub, she moves around more, and even five pumps isn’t enough to make the bubbles last through an entire bath time (about 15 minutes, tops). We tried the bubble bath product too, but the bubbles from this shampoo and wash last just as long—and using less solution.EDIT: Around the time my daughter turned 2, we found that she was exhibiting UTI-like symptoms and saying her bottom hurt. When I talked to the doctor, they explained that “bubbles-anything” can cause irritation, even if it isn’t a bubble bath product. So I would still rate this well, but note that the day did come that I had to stop using it.

Not very sudsy
I really enjoy Burt’s Bees products. For kids body wash, I usually go with the regular scent but, for whatever reason, I opted to try the lavender scented option and I didn’t care for it. My main issue was that the soap barely lathers at all. I kept using more and more just to get some suds going. I’m sure I wasted a lot. Using a small amount for a little bubble bath is not going to happen with the lavender liquid soap.

Great baby wash for sensitive skin!
Love this baby wash for my kids! It has a EWG rating of 1 so you can feel good about using it on your kids. I used to use California Baby Sensitive Baby Shampoo and Wash for my kids but one has bouts of eczema. I was looking for a wash that was just as gentle but more creamy and less drying for my kids. Burt’s Bees fits the bill. It has a mild scent that is pleasant but not overpowering. I also use a little less soap than I did with the California Baby one as this one lathers up very well. I still end up using a separate conditioner but I’m ok with that – my kids have a lot of hair. The only minor gripe is that it doesn’t come in a pump like California Baby (nice for doing one-handed pump action while using the other hand to prop the baby up). And it is of course on the pricier side of baby washes, but if you care about EWG ratings like I do, then you know it’s worth it. It isn’t organic but that’s ok for me as long as the EWG rating is good.

not for babies with sensitive skin
I thought I was doing my newborn a favor by buying all natural products. After using this body wash for 5 months my baby developed cradle cap and eczema that would only clear up by using Cetaphyl RestoraDerm body wash and lotion which costs about $15 a bottle. The first thing you should consider before buying ANY product that has so many flowers or other possible allergens is that your baby could actually have an allergic reaction to something in the concoction. My baby did not have an overnight reaction, but a long, hard to pinpoint reaction. I also used the baby bee diaper cream and my pediatrician told me to stop using it because it was making her little folds irritated because of the lavender. I digress… two days after discontinuing the baby bee shampoo, the eczema cleared up.I may have a super sensitive baby, but I wanted others to know that buying all natural products can be great – you just have to know exactly what you are putting on their skin (I am in alternative medicine as a career and it killed me to think about putting chemicals on her skin). The skin is the largest organ in the body and whatever you put on the skin absorbs directly into the body. I fought the idea of using a body wash that wasn’t all natural even as simple as dove (which has SLS and isn’t natural, but considered by many to be “safe”), but discontinuing this product actually has saved by precious little one’s skin from the red, dry patches that itched and cradle cap that wouldn’t go away even after a 3 week dose of hydrocortisone cream. Now, I just use the cetaphyl body wash and lotion and put a little lotion on her head and she is absolutely wonderful.I have never written a review on a product and I have been purchasing products on amazon by the truckload since I have had my baby because the prices are so great and its so convenient, but please be wary of all the possible allergens in all the natural products. I can’t believe that I actually made her skin worse by doing something I thought was good for her. Last point – it is a great deal to buy three of these bottles if they work for you and your baby, but try it first. I bought three bottles and after 5 months only used about 1/3 of a bottle and now have 2 unopened bottles that I can’t use.Update – Jan 2013After about a month of using the cetaphyl I switched to unscented baby Castille soap and moisturizing her with almond oil and her skin is still fine w/ no eczema 🙂

Gentle on baby’s skin and really, truly tear-free
We have a lot of Burt’s Bees products in the house. Lotion, bubble bath, lip balm, etc. We decided to try this as well. To be honest, I like using Johnson’s better, but I’m swayed by all the “Formaldehyde” talk. I like that this product is safe and relatively natural. As for using it, it has its upsides and its downsides:Pros:Tear-free formula really is tear free. Baby has never complained about me getting it in her eyes. It’s gentle on all of baby’s sensitive spots.Light, crisp, clean scent. It’s fragrance-free but not scent free. It actually smells pretty good.Does a good job of cleaning baby. No residue after rinsing. We have no reactions. Even bathing baby every day (which I have to do now that she’s a toddler) her skin doesn’t try out or break out.Cons:Does not later well – requires a lot of product to wash baby. Bathing every day, we go through about 2 bottles a month. It’s hard to rinse out, I have to either use the shower head or dump many buckets on baby to get it out of her hair.Does not condition hair. Though baby is good and squeaky clean, but hair feels kind of dry when done. It hurts her when I comb it wet after using this product. It is soft the next day, but baby hair is naturally soft.I have this on subscribe and save and have no intention of changing any time soon.

Came broken
Came with broken top and dispenser with soap all over the plastic bag it was wrapped in. Couldn’t even use the original bottle so I had to transfer the soap into another bottle with a dispenser. For the scent, it’s not bad, but does have a kind of strong artificial honey smell. How good the scent is could vary from person to person though, for me it’s just okay. Decent soap, doesn’t irritate me, and works well for my sensitive skin.

Good for adults too
My husband has blepharitis and for several years used Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo to do his eyelids scrubs twice daily with a cotton square. But now for at least 2 years he has used this Burt’s Bees baby shampoo and likes to use it much better that his previous choice. I researched different solutions and we decided on this. The smell is so much better than Johnson’s and it doesn’t dry out his eyelids as much. I had grown very tired of the smell of Johnson’s on him! This 3 pack works well for him. I use the subscribe program. So we both have been pleased with this more gentle and less smelly solution for him.

Least “stingy” body wash / shampoo I’ve found
Update 7/30/2018: I continue to use this shampoo / body wash, and love it, but it does (if I am showering without my contact lenses in) now sting a little – my guess is that the formula has changed slightly. As this product is now all over, every supermarket, every big box store, I should imagine they may have compromised and changed ingredients, due to the enormous volumes they need to produce. No issues with my skin, and the brief eyeball sensitivity is barely worth mentioning, but “not stinging at all” is no longer true. So I am lobbing off one star..Update 7/23/2017: Up to five stars, this stuff works for me (and that is, where skin is concerned, always very personal). Itchiness is significantly reduced, none on the legs at all, amazingly, and the wash is concentrated enough that you don’t need to use a lot, experiment with smaller amounts than you were used to using. I am well pleased.Original Review: Because of ongoing skin sensitivity that two doctors gave me different opinions on (wouldn’t you know, the dermatologist’s instructions did not work for sh…) I’ve been trying to eliminate all irritants, from artificial fibers in clothing and linen to unnecessary chemicals in cleaning agents, allergen- and fragrance free detergents, you name it. I’ve reduced the number of skin degreasing agents I use, as well, as I understand from the ‘net skin oils have protective functions, and removing them completely every day may not be a good thing. At some point, I switched to
Johnson’s Baby Moisture Wash, Vanilla Oatmeal, 15 Ounce
from the supermercado, but when I used that on the one day a week I do not have my extended wear contact lenses in, it stung in my eyes – reading the label, I noted that, despite its hypo-allergenic and no-tear formula, it contains fragrances. That’s not good, so I’ve now switched to trying this Burt’s Bees fragrance free *stuff*.So far, so good – it doesn’t have fragrances, it smells (on my face as I lather) mostly of oatmeal, which is kinda weird but certainly not harmful, and indeed is the least degreasing formula I’ve used, the past couple of years, in my quest for less agressive stuff. Mine isn’t a greasy skin, and with summer coming up we’ll see how well it does, but if it doesn’t sting my eyes, that’s Job Done, and I would think that makes it safe for your baby’s skin, too. I should add that a baby is growing, and its skin regenerates a lot faster than yours or mine does – remember there is A LOT more skin on you than on your baby. Your metabolism has to work a lot harder to keep it all in good order than a baby’s, don’t believe the marketeers, babies don’t spend hours a day enveloped in Diesel particulate and hydrocarbons, with artificial fibers rubbing all over ’em (I hope!?). I just can’t think of any reason, now that I’ve been forced to think about it, why anybody would use anything on their skin and delicate bits that is capable of stinging. Stinging is a warning signal when your nerve endings find the chemicals harmful. Lathering, BTW, is one of those things that has no real function, and lathering agents that do nothing but foam are often added to washes and shampoos – that’s why your hypo-allergenic detergent, if you use the right amount in your machine, barely foams, because those sudsing agents aren’t there and That Is A Good Thing. So don’t use the Johnson & Johnson baby stuff on your baby, IMHO, and for now, this Burt’s Bee’s wash seems just what the doctor ordered and I find that a little of this goes a long way, no need to slather it on. I’ll update this as I go along, I’ve got three bottles to get through, if no update, I am fragrance free, happy, and, errm, “unstung” 😉
