Not a substitute for a real bath, but in a pinch works when you are too lazy to do it.
I hate washing cats; I only wouldn’t fight when I do it. And only if I got a shower with a shower door and shower curtains for getting it would he climb on it. Which isn’t fun current cat great with her claws, except during bath time; I got to wear pants and thick socks and go into the shower using the shower door trick. She still tries to climb up whatever she can to no avail and try not to scratch me, but it still happens hence me getting perfect clothes wet and smelling of a damp cat every time. This stuff works for miner issues. She is “medium” hair. Not long, but defiantly not short, so she sometimes has problems where she smells a little like pee as she tries to cuddle me in my bed; this works great for that.If she stinks, this is a band-aid when you need gause and bandage tape. Also found out it works on the dog, too; more sprays, but he hates bathing, no scratching but a ton of fighting, and me getting soaked in the wet dog smell. Still not nearly as bad, but for minor issues, I do a coat of this works on his skin, helps dander a little, and mild aromas he gets from roughhousing outside with his sister in the back yard. Plus, the boy is a little dense. See him sit in his pee if I am out with him, like potty training. I used it a lot as I treated him if he went outside, and he would sit in his mess, thank just pee most of the time, not poop. And this got rid of that smell of his but.Yet again will work on a dog and keep them calmer than a cat; either find it best to take a dish rag and soak it in this stuff with multiple sprays, then rub them as spraying a cat is not a good idea; dogs don’t like it much either lol. But it is no substitute for a bath, just something to keep them “fresh” until real bath time.

Needs new application method
There needs to be a different delivery method than spritzer since spraying is often used as a form of punishment, my poor cat was sprayed with water by a previous owner and he’s a good boy so I put this in a nozzle bottle to apply it so I wouldn’t hurt his feelings. I would prefer scentless and so would my cat, if they just made than an option that would be great. It does strip the oil out of the fur which will give the “sticky” but in the “squeaky clean” way and not an actual sticky way on a cats fur, like your hand is going to get caught on your cats fur and tug it afterwards because their fur is so squeaky clean that there is no slip which is unpleasant for everyone. I understand apple cider vinegar does that but if they manage to sneak some kind of cat safe oil like an omega 3 or something so it’s just a bit soft still this product would be perfect. This is a great product for when you have some kind of Matted fur thing though, it will get the fur when and slick and separated and if there is something sticky in the fur it will make it slip off most of the time or minimize how much has to get chopped.

It neutralizes the urine stench, pretty well!
My cat is getting older, and it is harder for him to wash himself. So I thought about bathing him, but he isn’t used to water. I looked on Amazon and found this Waterless Shampoo spray by Burt’s Bees. I thought why not give it a try? So I bought the 2-pack. I used it on him for the first time, and viola! It neutralized the urine stench, and he purred during the whole thing. I moved quickly, and had to gently hold him down, but he was calm throughout.

Smells very good
This product smells amazing but unfortunately my cat hates being sprayed by anything I think they should change it into a pump instead of a spray bottle as my cat runs in fear every time I try to use it. The best way to apply on a cat would be to spray on disposable glove and then apply onto cat.

Excellent product
I first bought this product back in 2020….now 3yrs. later I just ordered another bottle. Very few cats will allow you to spray anything on them. So I didn’t even try that. Since my cats don’t go outside, they don’t get very dirty. I just want to freshen their coat. So I lightly dampen a wash cloth with water, then spray it all over w/ the Burt’s Bees. I wipe their head first, then down their back & sides. Lastly their tail & the back of their legs. I DO NOT wipe their private area- they take care of that area themselves. If you have a “large” kitty who can’t reach that area to clean, I recommend using non-fragrance baby wipes. Lastly I brush their fur. It dries quickly, soft & fluffy. If your cat needs more of a cleaning, skip dampening the wash cloth with water and dampen only w/ the Burt’s Bees. I’ve been been using this method for the last 3yrs. on my 3 cats, it really works for me and my cats. And thanks to Burt’s Bees for making a fine product! 🙂

I guess thats how you know its made with real honey & apple?
The media could not be loaded.
I ordered 2 days ago and thanks for the quick shipping i got it today and can’t wait to use it on my cat because she get hypersensitive when she touches water and last few days she smells like dog’s favorite smell (you know what that is). And I was excited! Right? And as soon as I reached to my package and opened the box.I was confused. What did I just saw in this package? Black dots? Oh no wait, moving black dots! Oh wait I am nearsighted, let me take a closer look….The second I realized they are ants, like tons of ants.TONS!!! I threw the box as far as i could to the outside. And man, I really don’t know what to say or who to blame. It is because the spray have some issue so it was leaking so it attracts so many ants or,Shipping department? But whatever, at least i now know its made with real honey i guess. And the thing is, my cat doesn’t like it, hmmm I dont know because i spray tested and she was with me and the moment it sprayed out, my cat flew too:) so I guess there is some hidden smell that my cat doesnt like? But overall, great experience to have in my life!!!!

Kitties are really pleased!
I bought this for my aging Mama-Pajama kitty, who has dandruff on her lower back and base of her tail. I have 2 kitties, and they usually have a bit of dandruff during the coldest and dryest bit of winter just before spring. I’ve noticed that Mama’s has been slightly increasing and lasting longer over the last 2 years, and I searched for something to help. I bought 2 dry shampoos that I saw had good reviews and might help. I tried this one first (the other one has a coconut scent, which although natural, I thought might not be welcomed by my cat). I am very impressed. I’ve never tried any topical applications on my cats other than flea/tick treatment – which they hate. I squirted a modest amount in my palm and let Mama inspect it before applying it to her fur, counter to the direction in which it lays. I lightly spread it around, and then brushed it out. To my surprise, my cautious kitty really liked and enjoyed it! We’ve done this twice, now, 2 weeks apart, and the second time, she purred.I think it is much more effective to remove dandruff than brushing alone. And, I do think that it helps to reduce dandruff for several days.I was even able to use this on my other kitty on his little patch of persistent dandruff. (He’s no spring chicken these days, either.) I just tried it for the first time with him, and even he was very accepting.I’ve seen no adverse effects, no complaints from my cats, and a big improvement in their fur and decrease in dandruff for about 2 weeks at a time. I’m really happy with this purchase and how it’s improved my kitties’ comfort. Thank you, Burt’s Bees.

Smells a little chemical (only a little)
Firstly, my cat hates the noise it makes when sprayed. So I have to pray it in my hand in another room, but once she smells it on me she goes away and I personally don’t chase her down because I think that breaks down trust, but she doesn’t scramble away or anything. I think the scent is just strong and a little overwhelming. Once I did get it on her, I didn’t see much of a difference except her fur was a lot softer. It didn’t get her wet at all. I brushed it through with a regular cat brush and it was like nothing was ever on her. It’s a cool thing if your cat is an outdoor baby and gets dirty, but for indoor cats I think a dander reducer for shedding.

Doesn’t have much smell at all which I guess is good for the cats just not what I expected based on the label. Keeps the kitty fresh though!

Love it!
I have 2 male cats and we were getting over a flea situation. (One of my cats is allergic) But I purchased this to help both my cats out to make their coat a bit more shiny and softer feeling. My boys loved it! Just a tip though if you have a brush, spray it on the brush first then use the brush on your fur babies. Or I also sprayed it on my hands and just went to town giving them all the rubs and lovings! Makes it much easier to use, instead of chasing them around to rub it in!

Works great!
Very easy to use and works well! I have two kittens about the same age. One is a rescue that I’ve never had issues with her not cleaning herself, but our other is another story. He still cleans himself just sometimes neglects his back. The vet didn’t find anything physically wrong with him though we were kinda stumped on what to do. Found this and decided to try it and it works really well! I tried the method of spraying it on my hands and basically just petting him with it which he didn’t really like at first but it didn’t take long for him to get used to it.I really like the smell but it is a little strong at first before completely rubbing it in, it’s obviously very easy to use since there’s many different ways other than just spraying it directly on them, and it makes him look great. Overall it’s a 10/10.

This product works great! Makes giving my cat a bath much easier. I found spaying about 6 inches away from the fur works best. The fur does not clump up that way. It makes the fur very soft, the skin gets moisturized, and the fur smells amazing!! It also helps with dandruff. Love it!

It works pretty good but not as good as a bath.
It seemed a little watery and not really soapy but it does help with odor and it smells pretty good. I used a lot to make sure my sick kitty was clean. He got really sick and 💩 on himself. This did not work for that at all. I had to bathe him with real soap. But for spilled food in his fur or him just not cleaning himself, this worked great for that and I do feel Burts Bees is a trusted product.

Our little girl developed a strong, very unpleasant scent. WIth some help to hold her, I sprayed and rubbed in the product. I dried her with clean towels and did some brushing. The stink is gone! It does not leave a strong smell only FRESH! I recommend this product!

Works and smells great!
My cat likes showers, so being wet from this spray does not bother her. She is not fond of the hissing spray that the pump makes when applying it, so I generally talk to her while I use the pump. I also apply it directly to my hand and rub it on areas that are not easy to spray, or if she is particularly fussy that day.

Its a good product for the fur. However, the spraying scares the cats quiet a bit. It would be nice it is was a different applicator or quiet sprayer.

Great for itchy cats!
My cat is an indoor cat so he doesn’t necessarily need to be bathed. However, I live in an older apt in a drier climate as well which is a recipe for allergies in my cat and has cause him to pull out his hair. My vet ruled out any medical conditions that may have caused it and recommended hypoallergenic food and Claritin which worked to an extent but he still pulled. I figured it’d be good to get more moisture on the surface of his skin and make it easier to remove dandruff so I tried this and so far, so good! It’s only been about a week but I’m noticing much less patches of hair around the apt and some growth. The scent is nice but doesn’t linger which I don’t mind. I’ll update if anything changes!

Waterless shampoo
Bought this product because my 20-year-old cat was having a hard time grooming himself. His hair was becoming matted. This product worked great. The product arrived on time. It smells great. My cat sat as I prayed him. I used the grooming gloves, and he enjoyed it. His coat was shiny and not mattedd. Highly recommend.

This cat product is the Meow!
It really works. My cat didn’t like the initial squirting. So I had to do a little bit at a time of the spraying. Cat groomers are costly so she hasn’t been to one for a couple years. There’s no way I could give her a bath. I don’t think so binding her up it just couldn’t happen.Other burts bees products, this works and it’s wonderful. Her coat looks so much better. It has a very light sense which is good because cats have very sensitive sense of smell.I hope they keep making it.

This product works
I’ve owned a tabby for 16 years and I’ve never bathed him even though he’s very clean. Since living completely indoors, his coat started getting a bit oily-looking and clumpy. I’ve applied the product twice and brushed him, his coat is now a lot cleaner and more fluffy. He’s licked his coat after shampooing but doesn’t seemed to bothered by the smell nor the taste of it.

Good Stuff!
I got this for my cats so I didn’t have to give them water baths as often (twice a year) and so they don’t get stinky inbetween. My black cat also has dry skin and dandruff and I thought it might help with that.I take my two cats on walks and like to wipe them down when they come in. I just sprits some on a paper towel and run it over their fur. When I want a more intensive “bath” for them I will spray it directly on them then brush it through with a boars hair brush followed by a wipe down with a wash cloth. Not thick. Not oily and doesn’t leave any sort of residue. There really isn’t much of a sent. You can VERY faintly smell apples and honey due to them being main ingredients. My cats have no problem with the “smell”. They don’t try to groom it off themselves after I finish. They enjoy the process. I enjoy them feeling soft and smelling fresh. It has also helped my cat with his dry skin. Three uses and no more dandruff! He doesn’t itch as much either. It did not affect my cat who has allergies at all or irritate them in any way. Some people mentioned the spray noise being triggering to some cats. One of mine was like this at first. I just sprayed it onto a cloth while in the other room then wiped him down. He is used to it now after some gentle introduction.I will continue to get this for my fur babies.

Great experience
I don’t directly spray this to my cats but instead I spray it on my hands and then apply, once applied I brush it into the cats hair/skin I cannot tell you if it has any medical sense but it does give my cats hair a nice glow, and if they lick it off I doesn’t do anything to my cats. They have not have any reaction to this or whatsoever.

Don’t spray it directly on kitty. Use a brush!
It really works to keep my little cat smelling fresh, so I have to give him a nickname besides “stinky baby” now. If yours is anything like mine, he will hate having this sprayed on him, but love being brushed. Spray the product right on the brush! It works really well and won’t upset your cute feline.

Check your bottle for leaks.
My review is mostly for the packaging. The shampoo came in a plastic bottle, encased in a sealed plastic bag….just like it should. I noticed some liquid at the bottom of the plastic bag but just figured it leaked a little, no big. Cut off the top of the bag and set the shampoo bottle on the counter, noticed it was all wet so rinsed it off and set it aside. Today when I decided to use it, sprayed a bit onto a brush – it sprayed fine BUT it also sprayed/leaked out the bottom of the bottle! Luckily I had another spray bottle to pour what was left out of the bad bottle. Then I put some water in the Burts Bees bottle and tried the spray again – same thing, the spray worked fine but it also came out the bottom of the bottle. Couldn’t see a hole but under pressure it sure sprayed out….so in the garbage it went.I did use what I’d sprayed on the brush to run it though my long haired cats coat. The fragrance is nice, she didn’t mind it at all, too early to rate the shampoo. Thought I’d report on the bottle issue in case someone else get’s a bad one….maybe this bottle was the 1 out of a million.

Works for cat who would rather fight than bathe :/
He HATES bathing with a passion. This works for him. I spray it on a moist washcloth long before I approach him so that he doesn’t hear the spraying sound which he associates with water. I only have to battle him for a minute, followed by a brief massage (which he almost likes), and he’s clean, itch-free, shiny coat, and smells better. The scent is very faint and pleasant which is ideal because I don’t think he wants to walk around smelling like dessert.

Really improved my cat’s color and softness
I have a medium long hair pure white cat who loves to roll in dirt. Needless to say, after a few months enjoying my garden he took on a gray color and his fur got stiff and unpleasant to touch. A couple of times I took him to have a bath but the pandemic put an end to that. So I tried this spray. After his initial terror of the spritz, my cat got used to it and he LOVES the brushing that goes with it. This is a big guy who bites so I have to be careful. I catch him when he is lying around and spritz him a couple of times on the dirtiest spots that I can find and then brush and brush and brush. He loves it and he looks and feels great. I can’t promise the spray did any good since it seems more like water than anything. So it might just be the brushing that has made such an improvement BUT I didn’t get such nice results with brushing before using this spray so I have to think the spray helped quite a lot.

Did 90% of the job
I have a 20-something year old cat who can’t clean herself well anymore. I sprayed this directly on her and pet her with a grooming glove to work the product in. It helped with the grease build-up to a level I’m satisfied with, but it wasn’t perfect. Something to note: I’m unsure if this is supposed to be scented or not, I personally can’t detect anything but honestly it does not matter to me if my crusty elderly cat smells perfume-clean. I would suggest purchasing a separate pet cologne if that is important to you.If you spray your cat with water as punishment, you should probably not purchase this product and also consider learning actual training techniques.

Not good smelling at all, very faint smell
My cats absolutely hated this product being used on them. They didn’t like the sound of the spray bottle whatever or the feel of the water hit their fur. I cannot smell anything good about this. It doesn’t have an apple or honey or anything smell really. I feel it’s not worth the money. I do love this brands products, this one completely missed the mark though. I mean, it’s almost the same as using a water bottle on them or something. No different.

My cat is on the chubby side so he can’t reach his rear therfore he always has mats. He hates when I groom him and even worse when I bathe him bcuz we can’t get rid of mats and knots without water. Also he had developed dandruff. I read the reviews on this product and took a chance. He absolutely loves being brushed now. The smell is so nice and leaves his coat so soft. After brushing him 2x a week for about 2 weeks the dandruff is finally going away and so are the mats.I spray him 2x and then I brush him slightly. Using more causes his coat to be too “greasy”. I enjoy the smell since its not to powerful and I can still pet him afterwards.

It is ok
My cat doesn’t like it much and it is kind of annoying to use (It foams a little when I spray it on a sheet and try to clean my cat with it). Honestly I think my cat probably cleans herself better. It does help if you want to clean your cat fast and don’t want to wait til they are done cleaning themselves.

Scares my cat away
Not much of a sent which is fine, I bought this mainly because my cat is missing fur and I wanted to rule out dry skin and ease his itching. Not really sure if it worked or not, all I know is he doesn’t like the sound and runs when he sees me coming with the bottle. For softness he’s soft so it’s got that going for it. Over all not a bad product just didn’t work for what I needed.

Cat doesn’t mind it, but it doesn’t really work
My cat doesn’t always do a great job of cleaning himself – he’s losing weight but is still fairly chunky, so he can’t really reach everywhere, and he gets greasy/has dandruff on his back. He absolutely will not let me bathe him without screaming like I’m trying to kill him (can’t have that in an apartment) so I decided to try this stuff out.Unfortunately, it doesn’t do a great job of cleaning. My cat tolerates me rubbing him with it on a damp washcloth, but he still looks/feels pretty dirty after he dries off. I really wish this worked better because my cat doesn’t really mind being wiped down with it and it would be so much easier than trying to give him an actual bath.

Now I did expect this to have a little bit of a scent at least; but it does not. I was a little bummed out. HOWEVER- It makes my little boys coat so silky and smooth. My cats sometimes will get a little greasy in some spots they can’t reach, so occasionally I will use it to help or even just to refresh. Also helps with shedding too it you use it before you wanna brush. Waaaay easier than trying to put a cat in the tub LOL. Still got battle scars from that one. Product is a life changer!

MADE BATH TIME FUN instead of the usual struggle!
We have an older cat who absolutely HATES bath time and squirts of water with a passion. We’ve used wipe on him in the past and he will accept those but decided to try this waterless Burt’s Bees shampoo since I trust the companies products. To my surprise he didn’t mind the mist being sprayed on his fur as I brushed him. Didn’t put up too much of a fight at all until his underbelly started getting too wet. Still a lot less stress for him than an actual bath so that’s a win. After being dried off his fur is clean, soft, shiny, and smells nice. This is another 5 star winner from Burt’s Bees. We also use their shampoo wipes as well between full baths.

She isn’t wild about it being sprayed on her but I used someone else’s suggestion and just spray it on a paper towel and then wipe her down. She is old and chubby and just can’t reach everyone so this has been perfect for helping her out. After we wipe her down, we give her a brush and she is good for several days. I am really happy we tried this!

Easy to use and smells good
Smells good, I used a brushed and my hands to ensure I apply it properly. Results were good and my cat was not bothered by the smell or the product in general.
