Corsair sinks any competition with this expensive headset
I have owned the Corsair Virtuoso headset for over 6 months. Previously, I owned a G935 and made a G935 review after having many issues with it. However, I was left feeling like I wanted more, and I decided to double down on my efforts for finding a headset that suits me. Anything the G935 did, it just feels like the Corsair Virtuoso did better. And I’ve owned many wireless headsets, including, but not limited to: Steelseries Arctis 7, G935, Stealth 520, Sony Gold, Elite 800, and some other wired headsets. Before I officially start this review, I want to say this headset beats all of them. For now, I will be comparing the Virtuoso to more relevant competition like the Arctis 7 and the G935.First of all, I want to target what I do NOT like about the headset, as I find that is usually more useful to most people than hearing about how good it is. This headset deserves the 5 star review I gave it, despite the problems I’ve had.Software and the iCue service: iCue is the software Corsair uses for all of their products, and it’s… better than most softwares, I suppose. Certainly better than G-Hub. I find that in very specific cases the software does not meet my needs and almost always the answer to fixing the problem is to restart my PC. I’m sure you can understand how frustrating that can be.A full list of problems I’ve encountered:If the headset runs out of charge, the software will not recognize the headset’s wireless feature again until you restart the PC. Sorry, there is no fix for this, however it is not a consistent problem.Discord doesn’t play nice with this headset, despite being a Discord verified headset. Ironic, however I have found that the discord app noises (ex, joining a call, or muting yourself through discord) all have a distinct delay to the sound ques they make. Also, when reconnecting the device, Discord also doesn’t recognize the device and switch to it, you must do that manually. (this is an ongoing issue)If you go out of range, there is no guarantee the headset will reconnect unless you reset the headset.Sometimes, while charging the headset and using the wireless function, the device will randomly tell you it is charging, sometimes twice in a row. I do not disconnect the charging cable and it isn’t loose. The mute button sometimes does not work. And sometimes I have muted myself, the light on the microphone turned red, and people could still hear me.Now onto good things.Sound: The sound on this headset is, without a doubt, among the best. And I get the clearest and fullest sounds from my games. I’d say this more neutral sounding than the G935 (G935 is more bass heavy) and on par with how good the Arctis 7 sounds. The surround sound is full, and is what I use day to day as I have become accustomed to how surround sound sounds from other headsets. The presets of sound profiles make a difference, and I appreciate them, however I do not use them and keep the default sound on, as it sounds the most natural.Battery: I do not use the RGB on the headset, so the battery easily lasts over 20 hours. The charge times are quick, too, using a USB-C cable you also don’t have to worry about which way the USB is plugging in and you can easily plug in the headset while it’s on your head. I do find the charge port to be in a bit of a peculiar position, as it is more facing your left shoulder than straight down. Unsure if that was an oversight or there wasn’t enough room on the headset to accommodate the charging port to be there. Either way, a very minor issue.Comfort: This is the biggest indicator for myself of whether or not I like a headset, as I do not find this to be the absolute best comfort headphones, those would have to go for the G935, I do have to say they are quite comfortable, and seemingly can fit a lot of head sizes with the adjustable earmuffs. The leatherette feels good, and has yet to see any sign of deterioration yet. I do have to say, on occasion I do have to adjust them on my head as it can get a bit awkward on the same place of my ears, but I do not find it annoying by any means. I would suggest these over the older models of the Arctis 7.Microphone: Easily one of the best sounding headset microphones. I have had people ask me if I was using something like a Blue Yeti or another type of high end microphone. For the price point, I would expect a good microphone, and the Virtuoso delivers. The microphone sidetone is handled well, for those who like to hear themselves when they talk. It can be adjusted and turned off and on. Also, the microphone is removable, and as a non gaming headset, this headset looks like it would fit the bill. The microphone is also very good at removing any unwanted sound while also consistently delivering what you want it to communicate. Very impressive, I’ve yet to see it done this well by any other headset.Durability: Metal, finally a headset that uses metal in places where the headset is most prone to fail. I’m not just talking metal in the bands, I’m talking metal where the bands meet the cups, too. The headset feels premium, like it’s meant to last many, many years. And with this type of durability and a removable microphone in case your current microphone breaks, this headset definitely seems to have been built with some longevity in mind. If you want a headset just for durability alone, I cannot recommend this headset enough.Controls: There is a switch that isn’t exactly like an on and off switch. It’s a USB or Wireless switch. You can imagine how sometimes this might be annoying, but it works very well, surprisingly. There is a 3.5mm jack, for when you need that. USB-C charging port. Volume scroller that feels very secure. And a mute button on the removable microphone itself. The headset is also adjustable to fit your head. Conclusion: I do my research on headsets, and I can say the Corsair Virtuoso is among the best. In the upper echelon of gaming headsets, the competition gets fierce, and the prices get high. I want to call this headset no compromise, but the software would need to be better for it to be called that in my book. And maybe the battery could be longer. But this headset carries the torch for many other headsets to strive to be as good as it. If you’re thinking about spending this much money on a headset, you already know you want a headset that is going to do everything, and this is there.

PC gamers 1 day of use review
I was planning on writing a review regardless of product usage time, but like many others reviews I’ve read they pretty much all “hit the nail right on the head” so here’s mine in order listed are bad/worse to best/goodCOMFORT- was a pretty close tie with sound but with this issue you have to spend more money to fix or make it better, like many others have said.. YES THIS HEADSET IS NOT COMFORTABLE but if you upgrade the ear cups and some review state getting a padded head band cover it makes the comfort way better. I haven’t purchased either yet but I will very soon.SOUND- I’m not going to sugarcoat anything about the sound from straight out of the box complete garbage and I felt sooo disappointed in Corsair but with the help of sound settings, EQ adjustments and about 30 minutes to an hour of fiddling with a few programs you can get it sounding pretty good. The 7.1 surround sound feature in my opinion is great in games other reviewers didn’t think so but that’s their opinion. The side sounds/mic monitor of hearing how loud you’re talking feature umm.. wow… I think we need to go back to the drawing board on that one because with the slider on the way up in icue I can barely hear myself, I haven’t tried any other programs or settings yet to see if that can be improved but using it in icue it’s junk.BATTERY/WIRELESS RANGE- I put this one in the middle because as the title states I have 1 day of usage but after a constant 4-5 hours of gaming the battery light was still green and for wireless range I didn’t walk all around my house to test it but I didn’t get up and walk away from my desk a good 35-40 feet never disconnected so no complaints yet.QUALITY/PRICE- Now this is where it might different from other reviews, I purchased this for 129.99 on sale or at reduced price from the original retail of 199.99 so what Corsair does best is make products look good of course with a price but the quality of this headset is actually amazing from the looks, the clicks of the buttons, rgb lighting just the feel of it in your hands when you pick it up to start gaming or listening to music it is not a cheaply made headset sold at a high price.OVERALL- It’s a very nice headset, yes it has flaws but every brand, every version always does and alway will. Like a few other reviewers I picked this one because it matched the PC I built and most of the components in it are Corsair. But for a real overall review straight out of the box no I don’t think its worth 200 dollars but with tweaks, adjustments and a few upgraded parts it can be.

Almost Perfect
Let’s just name the bad right away. The ear cups suck, the headband has awful adjustability and is hard to get comfortable, if you have a bigger head you will never get it sealed at the bottom of your ears and even the vastly better after market cups don’t fully solve this issues. The icue software is by far the worst software I’ve ever used it is horribly layed out and flat out sucks and to activate the Dolby Atmos or deactivate it is controlled by Windows and isn’t even in the software which is extremely inconvenient and annoying. Also with the software it doesn’t show you battery life by percentage which for the cost of this should be a basic minimum requirement. You get High, Medium, Low with a vast difference between them. There is 100 dollar headsets with this simple feature and with a push of a button can give you an audible feedback of your level even, so why these can’t do any of that for over 250 dollars is mind numbing.Connection wise I drop audio randomly and still haven’t been able to troubleshoot this problem fully because of the inconsistencies of it and I think discord is possibly a culprit which these are discord certified and so far I’ve had more issues with them in discord than any other headset I’ve had.So with these issues which would individually would be deal breakers for me with any headset I over look them because of the good. The audio once you get it setup, which takes way to long is incredible. It is even better once you take off the junk ear cups they come with and get the cooling ones it actually makes the Dolby Atmos sound much cleaner. The sound in my games is almost to good and in an FPS I can tell exactly where someone is from far distance. The mic is streamer quality and super clear. The mute feature great takes a little time to get used to the button location but it works.Being able to BT to your phone while connected to your PC or console is just life changing. In the middle of a game you get a phone call and can answer it while hearing both audios and it auto mutes you in discord to answer the phone call. Such a great feature it’s hard to even explain how handy that is.I love these things and just wish they would fix some of the issues I listed above and they would be absolutely perfect.

They just work
I originally tried the HyperX Cloud 2 Wireless headset because of all the great reviews, but my primary use for a headset is to play multiplayer games on my PS5, and the microphone would cut out constantly. So far I’ve had no issues with the Corsair Virtuoso RGB.Pros:- The input and output work flawlessly- The sound is pretty good for a wireless headset. I wouldn’t call it incredible, but it’s a wireless headset, so it beats my expectations here.- I really like where they’ve placed the mic mute button. It’s at the base of the mic stem, which makes it really easy to mute/unmute if your controller doesn’t already have a mute button (not an issue on a PS5).Cons:- They’re not the most comfortable headset. The headband is quite hard and might be uncomfortable for some after long periods of use. Personally, I got used to it after a couple of hours. The ear cups get very warm. So if you’re gaming in a warm environment, these might not be the best pair for you. There might be after market ear pads you can buy to reduce this issue.- There’s an LED on the end of the microphone, which flashes constantly. At first, I find it quite distracting when I put on the headset, but I get used to it after a while. I haven’t looked into turning these off with drivers, but I might just end up putting some electrical tape over it. The light does shine red when the mic is muted. For some, that might make the constant flashing worthwhile.

Good Headset with Some Caveats
I love the headset, but there are some important things to note.It is not comfortable out of the box, BUT it will break in. It does get more comfortable; it gave me a headache the first day I wore it, but now, it’s very soft and easy to wear for long periods of time. However, I would still recommend buying a pad for the top to make it that much better. I don’t regret that addition to the headset.Further, the sound quality out of the box is not great, but with Dolby Atmos, it’s excellent. Seriously, it goes from subpar to a strong offering with the addition of Atmos/spacial sound. And the 3D Tempest audio on the PS5 also works well with the headset. So, a knock for that (honestly the biggest reason it’s 4 stars instead of 5) since this is a gaming headset and the audio should be the focus. BUT, even then, iCue lets you set your own preset EQ, so Atmos isn’t even a need, and it should work well with PS5 out of the box (although I absolutely recommend getting Atmos if on PC).Battery life is okay. I’d say it clears the minimum expectation, but I am not impressed. It works, and that’s okay. I can do long gaming sessions (6-7 hours) uninterrupted easily. So, if you charge regularly, it shouldnt be an issue. Now, on to the best stuff:You can listen to simultaneous audio via 3.5mm connection at the same time as wired USB or Wireless. That means you can plug your switch in via 3.5mm and your PC or PS5 via USB or Wireless – and hear both sources at the same time. That’s great considering Razer and other alternatives don’t offer that on headset in a similar price range, like the Karia pro, which can connect to two sources but doesn’t play them at the same time. This is a huge feature if you like to do Discord with PlayStation or Switch. And the mic will output via 3.5mm, so you can use Discord on your phone and listen to game audio via wireless or USB.Another great feature is it turns itself off if it doesn’t move or have audio playing for a while. Then when you move it again, it turns itself back on. Not essential, but nice that it wont drain itself when you forget to turn it off. Makes the battery last a lot longer and makes the 20 hours on a full charge feel like more. And the mic is great!! Don’t get the more expensive SE (worse mic, very similar feature set, more expensive). the base RGB has a killer mic. I have the El Gato Wave 3 desk mic, and although the stand alone mic is clearly better, this headset is much closer than I ever would have expected. Sure, it’s not an SM7B, but it’s the best wireless headset mic I’ve encountered.Build quality SEEMS good. I’ve only had it for a short time, but the headset is heavy (might be a negative for some), but feels solid, which I like. It’s much more aesthetically pleasing in person too. I thought it looked OK in the pictures, but I was frustrated with the lack of quality from other headsets that came with issues out of the box, which I had to RMA, so I took a risk on the Virtoso RGB because of good reviews and feature set. But, I have to say I love the look of it now.Overall, if you can get it for the sale price of $140, it’s a no-brainer over the WIRELESS competition. (Wired will certainly offer you better options for less money, but I personally wanted a wireless headset), and for the full price, I think it’s decent compared to competitors.I think Steelseries could give this a run for its money, but their build quality is very poor and the audio drivers are worse (although maybe a little better right out of the box). So, I’d lean toward this, but I also understand the appeal of simultaneous bluetooth and wireless on the 9+ and Pro Steelseries models. But again, at the sale price, if you can get it, the Virtoso RGB is the best option from my perspective.4 stars because of the audio out of the box, the headband could be more comfortable, and subpar battery for this price range. Everything else seems good. RGB is cool but not something I needed or care about, but could be a plus for others. Also the side tone is better than Razer and on-par with Steelseries (if not a little better bc of mic quality on Virtoso), but you’ll need to set it up in iCue.Edit: The ear cups actually do move a little bit, which I didn’t realize because it’s very stiff (which is nice, it doesn’t move around too much). This has helped a lot with the noise isolation! If I could give 4.5, I think that’s accurate (as long as you’re on PC with dolby atmos, I’d consider a 5/5)

Don’t expect longevity or quality over time
This is going to be a rant about the headset, brace yourself.*THE GOOD*—————The battery life is still great and will last me practically a whole day(with the extra bluetooth enabled) without needing a charge, I’ve only had a few times where I needed to take a break to recharge it.The audio quality is pretty good, the bass could be better but it’s not bad. I’ve never had an issue with any sort of background hiss or feedback from the speakers. The mic quality is also great as well.I did like the LEDs on the sides and that you could customize them as well. The range of these is really good. The secondary bluetooth option is absolutely great to have, I usually like to put a youtube video on my phone and prop it at the bottom of my monitor to watch.(though it does have its issues).*THE BAD*————-In under a year and a half the muffs began to fall apart I.E faux leather began to degrade and flake off leaving flakes in my ear and face and all over the floor, as well as the muff stitching began coming apart and open up exposing the inner foam on the right side. At least Logitech made the muffs replacable.Your ears are going to get really hot when wearing these so prepare for the sweat. The audio glitches after a while became quite frequent and annoying, especially when you use the extra bluetooth to watch/listen to something on your phone. The most frequent issue I have is the audio will completely cut out leading to you having to turn off/on the headset OR swap to wired mode then back to wireless. Another issue is with the extra bluetooth audio is that you’ll experience frequent cut offs when pausing audio for an extended period of time then playing it again. These issues popped up after only a few months of use when I bought it.Don’t buy these headphones expecting good noise cancellation(only passive not active), especially if you have glasses. The headset gets quite uncomfortable to wear after only a few hours, with most of the pressure being on the ears. I have small ears but they were still constantly squished by the hard plastic under the muffs.Despite the fact I’ve only removed the microphone once it’s VERY loose, just from me adjusting it over a span of less than a year and a half.**CONCLUSION**If I could go back to before I bought these I probably wouldn’t have gotten them, with how expensive these are and how poorly they’ve aged(along side the lack of active noise cancellation) it’s just not worth it. I’d rather have spent an extra 100-150 bucks for something that’ll last longer and be better/more comfortable.

Love them
Tower microphone not included. The headphones are wireless (brings a usb thing you have to plug in to make it wireless) and the lights on the sides can change colors and the speed they change at as well. It comes with a mic stem but I choose not to use it since I have a tower microphone. The mic stem has a mute button and the mic itself works perfectly fine. The program for the headphones is iCUE. The headphones are pretty light and have a voice that tells you “charging battery” or “charge complete”. The light on the headphones indicates battery life (which lasts pretty long for me). You can use them while they’re plugged in charging as well. As for noise cancellation, if you have no sound playing then you can pretty much hear everything going on around you. I’m not able to hear anything/anybody if I’m playing music or games if my volume is set to above 40.

Good Headphones
It is hit or miss when it comes to headphones. But overall these are a pretty good choice despite the purchase price. The sound quality is very good. Not the best for music but does well enough. They are great for my work which causes me spend hours on the phone all day and for gaming with my friends. Where they miss: The battery life is abysmal and they last a weak 8-10 hours on on and off use. I have to charge these nightly. The range on them is also pretty bad also, with a max distance that varies from 20-30′. These dont really have noise cancellation either as anyone you are talking with will hear most background noises. After prolonged wear – a few hours- your ears do get sore. The material is good but it doesnt breathe well and they are tight on the head.

Worth it
I’ve had these a little over a year I think? I can’t remember, but they are sturdy and good and I’ve not regretted it. The ear pads did break a few months back and they sent me a replacement. Usually I don’t spend this much on a headset but I think it was a better investment to get the good one, than to keep getting the mid-range or lower ones and have to buy a new one every year. Sound is great, overall these are very comfortable however the headset is heavy so after a few hours you may want a break.

Better than the Kraken X in my opinion
Discord/my laptop recognizes this headset, which is amazing. I’d previously bought the Razer Kraken X headset only to have mic difficulties since my computer did not recognize the headset. Not only that but the mic for the razer was really bad compared to the corsair virtuoso. I would say that the razer headsets are definitely more comfortable to wear if you plan on gaming for a long period of time. I decided to get new more cushioned ear muff parts and they’ve helped with the comfort on corsair virtuoso a bunch!

Great overall!
This headset has been my daily driver for years.I work from home, and am a PC gamer, so I have a headset on about 10-12 hours out of the day, and this headset has been amazing. I am writing a review as I have purchased it again (I broke my original a few days ago) and will say it has been an amazing headset, even compared to much more expensive headsets.Comfort – Like I said, I wear this all day. I did replace the stock earmuffs with some third party ones that allow better airflow, as it is a bit warm, but the noise cancellation is much better with the stock ones. If you plan to wear it for more than a few hours at a time, its worth looking into more comfortable muffs.Battery – Out of the box new, I was getting somewhere around 8-12 hours of battery life. Keep in mind I have music or games running the entire time I have them on, so obviously I am draining battery far more than the “usual” user. After 2 years, my battery life is somewhere from 4-6 hours with the same use. Honestly not horrible given they probably have 6000+ hours of use already.Noise Cancel – It’s pretty good. Nothing compared to something like high end Bose headsets, or other super premiums, but for a reasonably affordable mid range gaming headset, I think they are fine. I wish they had a stronger or active noise cancellation, but generally there isn’t any noise anyway other than my fan, and I don’t get bothered by it.Range – Honestly sucks. I can get maybe 20 feet away with a paper thin wall in between, and it loses signal. Any time I go to grab a soda or water, I jsut take the headset off, because it WILL lose connection. I am sure for some people this is a deal breaker, but for me, I honestly don’t care enough to kill a star off for this.Microphone – It’s decent. It sounds like a premium gaming headset mic, and has OK noise reduction. I personally use a professional mic setup, so I don’t really use the Mic often, but for a gaming mic, it’s more than good enough. If you are a heavy breather, take a cotton ball and stick it on the end. Literally solves so many complaints I originally had.Value – Some harsh honesty. I feel like the quality and build of this headset is amazing, especially for the 200ish dollar range, but audio quality is below par compared to audio focused headsets in that range. Is it good for gaming/music? Absolutely. Is it Bose 200$ headset quality? Probably closer to Bose 100$ headset quality. I’d like this to be a 129$ headset, at that price I would feel I am getting my money’s worth out of it. Granted the build is amazing, and it has survived longer than any headset I have ever purchased (I have owned almost every gaming headset in the common market over the years, so I have a lot to compare to)Overall – It’s fine! Great headset for a decent price, plus the iCue software manages it’s firmware and I have no complaints (Everything in my PC is iCue compatible or Corsair, Im a bit of a shill)

Great sound, and look and feel very premium.Only downsides about these headphones is their battery life is minimal give about one days use, ICUE is a bit clunky when messing with rgb, also the shape of the headphones aren’t good for people with larger heads (like me) makes the top of your head hurt as the headset has to stretch a bit causing pressure on the top of head. Also the range on the headset is very short, can’t even reach the door in my room before the connection cuts off. Still love the headset, the sound is pretty dang good.

It’s just not very comfortable…
So, I was in the market for a new wireless headset my last Corsair set died, and it was one of the best headsets I’d owned, their HD2100s. But since then I’ve gotten a wired pair of ATH m50x which are far more superb in sound quality and the comfort I find in the Soundcore Q35 is phenomenal. I wanted something that could perhaps merge the two: great comfort, great sound… wireless. The Virtuoso’s just weren’t comfortable. The clamping force was too intense for me (with glasses) and the cups were too stiff as well. The clamping may have been able to be backed off over time, but I didn’t want to suffer through a breaking in period. The range was so-so, on par with other USB wireless headsets I’ve been messing with but still far under my older headsets like my Logitech G930s or Corsair’s own HD2100’s, both of which could walk out to the mailbox without even a crackling. Just my G930s would sometimes just stop connecting at all…The software was also a tad buggy… The EQ just never worked at all and I couldn’t get any noticeable difference from the surround. The positional audio was just as good as my wired stereo studio monitors, worse likely due to them being open back and having a better soundstage. The one thing the iCUE software could do was sync the RGB on my headphones with the RGB from my Asus Aura Sync on my laptop.Which was probably the part that made me so hesitant to send these back. They’re so pretty! I got the pearl ones (white with gold accents) and the RGB was actually subtle. The cables just feel premium. The whole product is solid, with metal in the joints and the band and around the ends of the plugs. It had USB wireless, USB-C wired (the only USB-C of the ones I tested btw) and an 3.5mm combo cable. It had options and it sounded beautifully over the aux through my FiiO Andes, better than on the USB wireless by far. They were just uncomfortable. I couldn’t wear them for long at all and found myself actually pulling out my wired audio technicas or just playing things through my monitor’s built-in speakers when it wasn’t gaming. For contrast, I have also been testing around with EPOS GSP 370. The sound and comfort are in another league above the Virtuoso. I just wish the GSP370’s had USB-C and an auxport. But over the last several days, I’ve just found myself reaching for the EPOS over the Corsair until I found myself putting the Corsairs back into their box and getting a return for them. It’s a shame, because they are so pretty.Overall, I found the sound quality very fair for a gaming headset, just couldn’t get the software working on Windows 11 22h2, you may have better luck on Windows 10 or an earlier 11 release. They looks amazing. And the removable microphone sounds fair as well. Just the price seems a bit more than those relatively fair numbers, especially when the GSP370’s are $50 cheaper and the Hyper-X Air’s are over half the price for comparable audio and superior comfort and battery. But yeah… they’re so pretty >.< 2 people found this helpful

Great product.
Sound quality is great. The microphone quality is good for a headset. Not quite desk mic quality. Battery life is great but does dwindle over time. The ear pads are nice but the plastic clips break very easily. Replaced twice on the last pair I owned. Bought some after market ones that feel a bit better. Bluetooth range is less than i would like. The charging port and cable hits my shoulder and wears out over time.Icue, the software is okay. When they added the Nvidia options for noise cancellation and echo suppression it completely bricked my headset for working when i entered multi player games. That’s why i purchased a second headset. And some alcohol. But now i have two great headsets

These need some upgrades, but I found a few ways to make them astronomically better.
Where do I start, honestly. These things need some work, but they’re well worth it after adding $30ish USD in accessories.Strike 1: I bought the “pearl” Premiums to match my all white PC theme, and that was my first mistake. The Premium mics are dreadful, honestly. My friends all stated that I sounded terrible in Discord, and after a quick test in OBS that I played back, I agreed. First step? I bought the SE mic (as shown) from Corsair’s website, threw a windsock over it, and it was a HUGE improvement in vocal warmth and clarity (but I couldn’t help but think “now my headset has new colour added to it, great”).Strike 2: The earcups are just awful. I spend 3-4 hours a day minimum with my headset on for Discord calls, add in another 4-5 hours of work related calls, and hour or two of music listening, and another hour or two of playback and listening if I’m working on a video project? Yikes, these things aren’t ideal. I would constantly have to take breaks from these things every 30-60 minutes if possible, or switch to my lightweight Koss UR40 open backs to give my head a break from the Virtuosos. So, what did I do after approximately 4 months of owning these? I bought new, padded earcups that I should’ve picked up LONG before when I did.Strike 3; (but, they’re not “out”): The stock headband is just painful, honestly. In tandem with new earcups, I picked up a padded headband cover (again, much later into my ownership than I should have) because the pain the headband would cause me was unbearable.Okay so, a lot of negatives so far, where’s the good side that warrants 4 stars?Well, they’re great! I should’ve bought the gunmetal SEs, but I wanted to save some coin, I didn’t know better, and I was hell-bent on owning a white headset when I bought mine. The overall thing is, I actually really like these, and always have. Mine may look kinda ugly or goofy currently; but the fun thing is, I now have a backup SE mic, a headband, and a pair of earcups I can save and/or swap onto the SEs if I wanna get a better “color matched” setup going later on. I absolutely love how these looked when they were “stock” with the standard earcups and mic, and even now, the mis-match of black, white, brass, and polished edges may not look “clean”, but it still doesn’t look bad. Stock earcups and headband aside, the actual assembly quality is top-tier. No creaks, rattles, cracks, nada. They also sound warm with a fairly broad sound stage and pretty great noise isolation, and make an excellent go-to when I’m in the mood for a closed-back listening experience for either music, or if I’m editing a video. The easy mic feedback toggle is great, and overall, I am glad I bought Virtuosos. Just keep in mind that stock? You’re gonna need frequent breaks from ’em.Before you buy:1: Get the SEs. Just do it. You can buy the Premiums and get an SE mic directly from Corsair, but save the time and hassle, and just get the SEs unless you REALLY want a white pair.2: GET NEW EAR CUPS. Mine are “color D” from “XBERSTAR” here on Amazon, and they were $17 USD. Do this regardless of which version of Virtuoso you buy.3: Get a headband cover. I have the “1-8/9″ max cushion” pad from QC35 here on Amazon. Again, regardless of version, get a headband cushion.

This is a purchase I wish I could unmake, it isn’t an awful product, it just isn’t worth the high price tag. When spending nearly 200 I expect the kinks to be worked out. Overall I’ve used them for a year, and will continue to use them when I’m playing games with friends, but if I could go back i’d try something different, and probably cheaper.Notes:* They look great, the quality of the materials is nice and the rgb leds are gorgeous. I also love the round earcups, which at the time of my purchase were hard to find. Obviously, everyone has different tastes, but for me these are hard to be in terms of aesthetics.* I could not use this headset through a powered USB hub (Amazon basics 7 port), it would constantly disconnect. I’m not sure if this is an issue with the headset or the usb hub so I’m not factoring it into my opinion but I thought it worth mentioning.* There is no active noise canceling but the over ear design drowns out a lot of external noise. I can hear through them if someone is talking directly to me but any ambient noise is drown out easily.Pros:+ Very comfortable to wear. They are a little heavy but personally I like that. I have a reasonable large head and these still fit great.+ Great battery life, with a full charge, even a year later I can easily game on these while chatting on discord all day without having to plug them in.+ The microphone sounds better than most other wireless headsets and it is very good at filtering out background noise.+ For the most part the sound quality is good for a wireless headset. Even a reasonably priced wired pair will probably sound better, but unless you are switching back and forth regularly it is hard to notice.+ USB Type C interface for wired mode and charging. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I never want to see another propitiatory connector again.+ The Build Quality is incredible. I’m not the easiest on products and these have held up to the abuse. These have been dropped off the desk or yanked by the charging cable many many times and it is hard to even find scratches in the surface, let alone any real structural damage.Cons:- Technical Issues. I have had nothing but problems with these headsets since the day I started using them. I constantly have to unplug and re-plug my usb dongle in my pc to get them to properly connect, I’ve not had this issue with any other devices, including other usb headsets wired and wireless. This usually presents itself by the sound working but I’m unable to mute and unmute the mic. Or have any of the iCue functionality.- Volume changing. I have searched high and low and have been unable to find a solution for this problem. In some games (DBZ: Kakarot, Vermintide 2, Farcry 5 to list a few) the volume will constantly go up and down by itself. In other games this problem doesn’t exist at all. (FFXIV, GTFO, Conan Exiles) It also never happens in discord or any other voice service I’ve used. I have not been able to find any pattern to which games this happens in. Personally this makes these games unplayable with this headset for me, which means I have to use a second headset, not ok for something with this price tag.- iCue: This is a topic all in itself but I feel like you have to have iCue when using this headset and the program itself has enough issues to warrant it a con. It also has issues being recognized by iCue and sometimes has to be power cycled over and over to get it recognized.- No power button. This isn’t the biggest problem but it is very annoying. The headset will go to sleep on its own after being set for a period of time. Sometimes this doesn’t work as you would expect and the headset will sit there and drain its battery. You can switch it into usb mode as a pseudo off switch but this only works if it’s not plugged in. Finally, if you are charging it through a usb charger, the lights will stay on all the time, which means if you sleep in the room your headset is in be prepared for a forced night light. Remember when I said the LEDs were gorgeous, that also means they are bright. You can problem read by them. I have to stuff mine in a desk drawer if I want to charge them overnight.- The charging cable/wired mode location is really awkward and points straight down, it runs the cable right down into your shoulder. I worked around this be getting a 90 degree adapter to send it out behind my shoulder and it works much better. Not a huge thing, but an annoyance.

Great headset, distance is lacking
Bought these to replace my Steelseries Arctis Pro. There were strong points to each, Arctis range was Atleast double so walking around the house wasn’t a problem. Comfort wise the Corsair felt better. Music was a tie as each was slightly better in some areas but overall a wash. Battery life is great, getting multiple 4+ hour sessions before needing to charge. I did switch out the ear foams however has the ones that came with it were a bit hot and shallow.

Least comfortable headset I own. I own 9 different headsets from Steel Series to Astro. I can only wear these for a hour or two. Very poor padding

Good headset (after new earcups) Pathetic software
It’s a great headset but here are the things I did not like:The iCUE program they want you to download and use to update firmware on the headset and adjust your sound settings… yeah, don’t use that. Don’t even install it. It basically broke the headset for me because their firmware updates are super buggy and broke functionality of some important things… like volume control.. and the microphone.. What a headache it was to troubleshoot the issues I was having. If you’re having problems with the RGB lights, the mic, or the volume control no longer working– 1) unplug the wireless dongle and the headset from the pc 2) uninstall anything iCUE related *and* anything related to the headset itself 3) restart your pc and plug the dongle back in. Again… Do not download their garbage software unless you’ve found credible (as in, not from Corsair) evidence showing they’ve fixed whatever problems they introduced in their last update (writing this June 22, 2021). Nearly returned the headset because I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out what was going wrong because nothing was working correctly after I installed iCUE and updated the drivers.I’m glad I didn’t though because the headset itself is very nice with one caveat. You’ll really want (or need) to also buy a pair of replacement ear cups that are deeper than the stock ones because they’re so shallow that your ear will rub against the inside of the cup and it’s really uncomfortable after a few minutes (maybe you won’t care as much, but I hate having my ear rubbing against the inside of the cup) . If you do get different ear cups, you’ll lose a bit of the noise cancellation (I’m using fuzzy ear cups, not the pleather ones that would probably negate this) and have a bit more noise bleeding through the headset into your surroundings (so other people can hear your games or whatever you’re listening to). I just searched for ‘replacement ear cups for corsair virtuoso’ and found a pair for 20ish dollars. I tried the Razer Blackshark Pro wireless headset around the same time and I decided to keep the Virtuosos and return the Blackshark, despite the Virtuosos being now another 20$ more expensive and the frustrating issues with their software. The mic is a little wonky however. It works perfectly fine for the PC but it has issues when using it with the Xbox One. Specifically, when you mute or unmute the mic, you’ll hear a voice say “mic on” or “mic off” in addition to an LED on the end of the mic changing from red to green to help you see quickly if your mic is muted or not. This doesn’t work on the xbox though. The LED stays red regardless of the user pushing the mute button and there is no voice cue to tell you if its muted or not… and that would be an issue if the mute button actually did something. My mic will pick up noise and show that I’m speaking in games regardless of whether I hit the mute button or not. This is frustrating because it means I’m having to use the xbox game menu to mute my mic which is cumbersome and time consuming. Again, I don’t have issues with the mic when using it on my pc, just the xbox.No issues with battery life or crackling/static.Overall, I’m happy with the product (after the rage from their program breaking the functionality died down).

It is good to buy if cheap
First, what I like about the headset, it’s USB-c, it can be used for Xbox and PlayStation, and it can hook up to your phone. What I don’t like, is it’s not that comfortable, leaves a crease line in your hair, and the mic quality is meh at best.

5 Stars? How about 50? 500? This headset is near perfection.
Pros:* Top Tier sound quality AND mic quality, even on wireless.* Price is reasonable compared to other upper end gaming headsets.* Noise reduction is significant (and it’s NOT a noise cancelling set, crazy).* Range on the wireless is surprisingly good (I can listen to music downstairs in my kitchen from my PC upstairs).* Self Shut-off and motion Turn-On work great and I didn’t even know it did the turn-on part.* Lots of other details…Cons:* Only one I could think of – the headband is mostly comfy, but it does sit a little heavy, so it gets uncomfortable if you don’t move it around a little occasionally. If you want ultra-comfy, I recommend the Steel series headsets that have the ‘strap’ headband.Overall, I can’t say enough good things about this headset. I did a lot of research before buying, and I’ve had a corsair headset previously (VOID 7.1 older model) that held up very well (I still use it with my XBox) and sounds great, so I figured at worst, this one would sound great and have wireless, plus some other stuff. I charged it before using, it got to full pretty quickly running off my 3.0 output off the back of my PC, and once connected the slipstream connection become immediately noticeable – if there is any latency, it’s so little that I can’t detect it, and the quality of sound from both the speakers and the mic are unbelievably good for a headset under $200. I’ve had the opportunity to test out some $500-$700 headsets that were similar quality, but at this price, there’s no comparison that I’m aware of.After using for a bit, I set it down, and it shut itself off after a few seconds – that seemed odd to me, usually ‘idle’ takes a minute or two, so I picked it back up and watched as it turned itself on again immediately. I laughed out loud because I hadn’t realized it had some kind of motion detection built in (probably a little gyro inside), which is great. Most of the other features are similar to other upper end headsets (multiple connection types available, etc.), but worth noting that the RGB, while subtle, is a very nice addition especially if you’re using other Corsair peripherals (I’ve got a K95 and M65), so the ‘flow of color’ is really consistent and fun to play with. Also worth noting is that while this is not a noise cancelling headset, I’d say it reduces outside noise just from the quality of the ear covers and such.Only thing worth mentioning that is negative I noted above, but I figured I’d go into more detail. I have a ‘slightly’ sensitive scalp, so for me, when I wear this for 2+ hours, I have to make sure and adjust it an inch forward or back or it starts getting a little uncomfortable right at the top. The ears never get uncomfortable, as a combination of being circumaural and having very nice padding takes care of that – I will say though that my ears get a tad sweaty though, this thing seals really well.

Headband is small :'(
I love this headset! I’m coming from a set of astro a50 gen2’s. The astros headband is slightly bigger than these but give me massive headaches :/. These barely fit on my head. So I wish the band had a few more clicks left for adjustment. Anyways sound wise they are decent. Pretty detailed sounding although they lack in the bass department. For reference I use fostex 6xx mahogany’s from drop. They don’t sound as good as my fostex but they sound better than my Astros. Everything sounds clear without being exaggerated.I love being able to take calls and still have audio from whatever the dongles plugged in to.The microphone blows my astro a50’s mic out of the water. I finally sound clear vs sounding like a walkie talkie.Construction is great. Mostly metal and very sturdy. Ear cups feel great although they can get your ears pretty warm. Some more breathable pads may help here. The carrying case is ok. Wish it was a little bigger so putting away the headphones didn’t require shoving them in. But it was my choice to use the case. I do appreciate having magnets on the flap for it And the little inner pouch for wires, dongle, and mic.Definitely would pick it up used vs paying full price though.

Range is not there, but mostly great
For anyone upgrading from something older like a wireless Void Pro, the range on these is actually worse. Maybe if you live in a studio apartment with no walls, or a field perhaps, you’re not going to get 60ft of range out of these. Maybe 25 ft if you’re lucky. I was looking forward to being able to let my dog out back while staying on audio, but no chance with these. However, being able to use the wireless and Bluetooth to hear audio from two sources at once is a big deal, especially if you work remotely. If you want to listen/watch something on a phone while not being tracked by your employer (or just saving some resources on your work device), this is a killer add-on I never knew I was missing until I had it.Bass is disappointing.

Great sound and easy to use with multiple sources
Got these headphones as a christmas present for my teenager who likes to game while talking on the phone with their friends. I’ve tried them out a few times as well for various things like playing games, watching TV, etc. After a couple months of use we’ve got mostly positive things to say. My kid loves the ability to hook up to both the PS5 and their iPhone at the same time. They’ve told me the sound is great both through the headphones and through the mic, and they are very comfortable even for long periods of time. I find the sound to be really good and although they are comfortable for me as well the only negative is they are pretty heavy.

Human rights violation of a headset
Let me just say that corsair makes some of the best peripherals and headsets around, but these are NOT one of them. My first attraction to this headset came from the rounded ear cups. They fit around my ear comfortably, and the leatherette type material feels pretty great.. It was nice that they created these with type-c charging cable which makes my life so much easier than having to look at the hole to plug them in to charge. While that was a great feature it didn’t last… The headset felt and look premium but it really didn’t last. The cups were not deep enough, and after a while it felt heavy and I couldn’t keep it on longer than a 2 hours. I tired to look past this, but it didn’t work out in the end.My first problem came after I had them connected to my pc via the cable. They were on there being charged for the next day. I got up turned my pc on like I have always done, and I unplugged the headset so that I could use wireless mode, but nothing. No sound, no “slip stream wireless”, just dead with no lights. So I plugged them in ensuring that they were charging. After about 30 min on the connected cable, I unplugged them to enable wireless, once unplugged I put them on only to discover that they weren’t transmitting. After many trial and error I determined that there was some fault in the headset that would only allow me to use them while connected to the PC. This was infuriating to me since I paid almost $200 for a headset to be wireless and these simply are failing at providing that. The return window for amazon was passed so I had to contact Corsair. The first gentleman I talked to said that the dongle seemed to be of an issue, and I explained to him the headset does not power on or do anything if it is not connected to the pc or a power source ultimately leaving me with the same situation – a headset that can’t be wireless. He reassured me that that a replacement dongle was on its way and that it would solve my issue. Fast forward a few days, I tried the new replacement dongle and to no avail, it did not work. I contacted them again and explained my story to another gentleman and deemed it a faulty headset. So he got me the information I needed to send it back. As we were getting finalized in the shipping details, I asked him if I was going to have to pay for the shipping to which he replied “Ill get you a shipping label so you don’t have to.” Wait – you’re telling me I have to spend another $20 bucks to send you a nearly $200 headset that broke like a week after my amazon return period ended?? Are you kidding me Corsair??? In the end, Corsair ended up shipping me a brand new replacement headset but I ended up getting a different one that was 1) Cheaper, 2) more comfortable & 3) wireless that works. After comparing it to the new headset (which is also Corsair) I find that the virtuoso really is a mediocre headset at best. You can find a better, more cheaper headset somewhere else.

Use case driven review
I don’t usually write reviews but I have some time to burn and am hoping my input will help someone decide whether or not the Corsair Virtuoso are a good choice for their application. BTW I got the Premium and NOT the Special Edition/SE version. (more on why I chose this below and it was not the $30 price difference)SOLID build quality. There is some satisfaction with the way these feel. Sturdy, no creaking or flexing that shouldn’t exist. Good weight, not too heavy. I’m sure the SE version is also very nice with the machined aluminum. Protein leather headband and pads are comfy that I’m sure would be comfortable for many people for several hours. (would be nice if they included some variations at this price point.. maybe perforated lambskin or suede or cloth mesh, etc… changing the sound profile is half the fun of having a good set of cans)Crazy sound isolation. Put these on your head and you likely will not be able to hear much around you. Depending on your preference this could be great, these are in every way shape and form VERY closed headphones.I feel most people are right handed so the fact that the volume is on the right hand side is kind of annoying. The right hand is the primary mouse hand an should not be needed to adjust the volume.Wireless sound is adequate, very clean for the most part. As you will see I also attached an image of my EQ settings as I personally like a V curve with elevated lows/highs and a bit recessed mids. With a flat EQ “Pure Direct” they sound pretty bland IMHO, not only for games but also music and general use. Not sure how this would work for console users who may not be able to easily configure sound profiles…Microphone quality is excellent! I’m not sure if this is a known fact but the mic on the Premium is much better than the Special Edition. This is a good selling point if you like reproducing your voice to others accurately.Software is ok. iCUE has a very limited subset of options for this set of cans and only a few preset EQ settings that I would personally never use. Not to say Logitech software or other people are better but this is really not great.Biggest issue is clarity at times. Even when using the default “Pure Direct” EQ settings or my tweaked EQ settings there is sometimes a crack/pop/distortion in both certain games/music which occurs that is very unpleasant. Yes I may have received a defective pair of cans but I cannot unhear the distorted audio.2nd biggest issue from my perspective. Pads are a bit shallow for me personally and my ears touch the inside near the driver. As per my attached image I WISH pad rolling would be easier. These pads have a ring/twist mount system (clockwise to unlock which is bass ackwards) and they would require you to destroy the original pads to get the rings out to mount a new set properly (or you could get an adhesive set of pads which meh, or even 3D print some new rings but that is too much effort for a simple pad swap) So wow, yes I like being able to swap pads for comfort/sound adjustment and these don’t easily allow it.Soooooooo this may have been a long winded review that doesn’t provide much insight but in short I’ll be sending these back and I will continue to use my Logitech G935’s (with swapped lambskin headband and lambskin angled pads) Even stock I would say they are much better in terms of value/performance/customization/etc.

So far so good
So I wanted a good wireless headset and I already had a corsair mouse and having one dongle for all my wireless devices really appealed to me since I don’t have an abundance of ports on my laptop. Setting it up with the mouse took a little doing. I needed to update the firmware. Wasn’t too hard but the update only showed up when I had my mouse also plugged in witch I thought was odd, then I seemed to have the dongle updated but not the headset. You need to have the dongle, the headset, and anything else you may want to have paired plugged in. Preferably without a dock. Luckily, I have three ports. Would be in a pickle if I had also wanted to pair a wireless keyboard. After getting the software all figured out I am now able to enjoy them. The base is noticeably good to my untrained ears. My previous daily headset was a wired pair of steel series Arctius 5s and they seem as good as them. Something else to note is I only have the volume set to 16 and that feels plenty loud enough. started to turn it up and I would say 24 feels like my old headphones 100. By the way, the nob for volume on the headset will turn up the volume on your PC the same as if you manually adjust the slider. So you don’t have two volume settings to worry about. Lastly, since I am not a stream or anything I don’t really need the Lighting effects which are able to be toggled off by simply turning the brightness all the way down (they actually recommended this in the manual if you want to maximize battery life). My only real complaint is overall fit. For reference, I typically wear XL hats and have ears that are on the bigger side but do not stick out too much.I also wear glasses. I would say that I am just able to wear them comfortably. I think over time I will get used to them and they to me. I gave the band a good bending and that seemed to help a lot. Though that dose make them feel a tad lose, no head banging with these saddly. Will try to update this should anything change over time.

Update: turn off the LEDs
UPDATE: I managed to install iCUE 4 on another computer, and I can confirm that with the LEDs off, the battery lasts much longer. Now, the issue is that it can’t charge fast enough, even on a very good USB charger. Somewhere in the labyrinth of articles that corsair calls their help system, I read that for some reason, it should be charged from a standard USB port instead of a charger, but that didn’t charge it fast enough either. Ten-ish hours of charging should be enough to fully charge it, but it’s not. The sidetone “feature” cannot be turned off, so screw you if you like wearing headphones so that you don’t hear things in the room you’re in. The sound will also occasionally “hiccup” for no discernible reason. As a result of all this, I have come to a few conclusions:1. Corsair is grossly incompetent at anything software related, including firmware.2. They are fully aware of this, and will not do anything to fix it.3. I will not be returning these headphones.4. Corsair either ignores the “X of Y found this page helpful” ratings on their help pages or doesn’t care that many of these pages are less than 25% “helpful.” Some pages have a helpfulness rating in the single digits. These ratings are completely deserved.5. Corsair’s hardware is still good, but they’re slipping.6. Bitter though I am, I still like these headphones. The sound quality is good and they’re fairly comfortable, even for a person with a bigger head like myself.Original review as follows:I’m returning these. They’re comfortable, and the sound quality is good, but I had to charge the battery twice in a single day, and it didn’t finish charging after a full night. It’s unusably short. The standard suggestion is to disable the LEDs on the sides, which isn’t an option, because iCUE 4 will not run on my computer. I have tried everything on the forums, everything on reddit, and everything I could think of, but iCUE 4 always crashes when it starts up (As far as I can tell, the problem has to do with one of Windows’ DLLs, so I can have either iCUE 4 or Windows, but not both). The lesson I’ve learned from buying Corsair is that the hardware is good, but the software is abject trash.A real shame that these are unusable, because they are pretty nice besides that.

Decent mic, but terrible audio quality and build quality for the price
I bought this for work and gaming on my desktop PC, as I take business calls via VOIP and play team-based shooter games in my off time. I was disappointed that the audio seems to clip noticeably when watching movies if the audio is turned more than halfway up, causing me to switch to my portable earbuds whenever audio quality is my goal. For gaming, it’s fine, but less than a year in, the leather cuff on the right ear is coming apart. Perhaps they did not use enough glue, or it was assembled incorrectly. This thing has been only used at my desk, and my old cheaper ($99) headphones lasted four years before the materials started to detach. Very disappointing! I will not be buying headphones from Corsair in the future.Edit – updated to 3 stars because Corsair’s customer support was pretty fantastic. They sent me replacement earcuffs at no charge. Unfortunately, this does not fix my issues with sound quality.

Build quality is phenomenal. Sound volume meh.
The build quality is great! Although sound is not to my liking. At max volume it does not get loud enough for me. The Corsair ICUE equalizer is great to adjust sound to your preference but there is no way to increase it’s max volume. So I am returning these and sticking to my Void Pros as they are louder and cheaper.

An incredible piece of gear to add to your Corsair ecosystem!
For some reason, I just so happen to have a ton of Corsair products in my PC gaming ecosystem. My case, liquid cooling system, fans, keyboard, and mouse are all Corsair. I think the biggest reason for this is how easy and simple it is to control all of the lighting through iCUE. Not sure why so many people have issues with that software, but I have yet to encounter a single problem. I sold my Astro A50s recently and decided it was time to get off that platform and find something better tailored to my PC and less of a PS/PC capable headset. After a ton of research, I decided on this set. The price point is solid and I get to add another RGB device that can be controlled wirelessly through iCUE. The mic is incredible and the sound in the headset is insanely good. iCUE allows you to play with the equalizer settings and the built in presets work really well (the FPS EQ preset is actually really solid). Overally, if you already have a bunch of devices running through iCUE and like the aesthetic of the headset, this is a no-brainer purchase. It may not rank #1, but the pros for this product overwhelmingly outway any of the cons.

Battery life not great, sound is good.
I had the Sony XM4’s previously and their noise cancellation was AMAZING. This one, not the best by any means. The battery life is also very poor in comparison to the Sony XM4’s, but for the price different it’s ok. Mic is ok as well, a little gain issue if you have a louder voice. Wish they were a little heavier so they wouldn’t slide off my head.Other headsets i’ve had include the Razer Krakens, Logitech G733, Hyperx Cloud 2’s. These are a little heavier than the Logitech ones, but not tight ear cups like the Hyperx. A little more noise cancelling than the Logitech’s as well. I guess fit wise they are most like the Krakens. Wish the battery was better though!!

VERY IMPORTANT
There’s a couple things that I need to say which may be of major value to certain people. So I bought this headset because I wanted to go wireless and this was the one that was recommended to me on multiple occasions. They all told me they took it out the box, plugged it in and it was just fine. Well, for me, that was not the case. The audio was absolutely horrendous. Like earbuds from 2006 had better audio quality. But I have managed to fix it with two steps and they are next to perfect now. You need to download the iCue program from corsairs website and either mess with the preset EQ settings or create your own EQ preset to your liking. I highly recommend copying a preset that you enjoy and then making fine tunes off of it from there. You will need different types of audio depending on what you’re using them for so this is ESSENTIAL if you buy this headset because stock audio is absolutely dog. They have a preset for music and movies and all types of stuff. And as for comfort I find it absolutely necessary that if you buy this headset you invest in some better quality custom earcups. In my experience my very small ears touch this inside of the headset and it is unpleasant so I needed something with more depth, also the noise canceling is about subpar I can easily hear everything around me which I do not want so different cups are important for me. Other than that everything else is perfection for me personally. Hope this helps somebody.

A good headset overall
I like this headset, coming from a Logitech G935 it feels like a bit of an upgrade but a different flavor of headset, as my G935 had macro buttons and a flip up/down mic.Pros:Good sound for gaming (I have other headphones for when I want really good sound quality, and if you’re trying to get audiophile levels of sound quality, digitally, lol)Free Dolby Atmos licenseBluetoothPremium constructionCorsair software is alright (I count this as a pro since most gaming headsets require software anyways)Cons:Previously my G935 didn’t have 2.4ghz interference, I sit right under my router and this headset kept cutting in and out. It only stopped after I turned off that channel. No dedicated on/off buttonThe mic does not retract or flip up/down

I recommend for anyone looking to upgrade their headset.
First things first order after market ear cushions you’ll thank me later But they sound great, extremely versatile and my friends say the mic sounds better than some streamers. Oh and they are recognized by the icue software (feel like I shouldn’t have to say that but not all corsair products are created equal)

Nice
The ease of use is great with the wireless battery is pretty good too. The detachable built in mic is solid enough as a backup. The sound quality however is pretty mediocre. There is an eq you can use but it still down not sound that good for music or other audio. In game it’s solid enough. Also getting it used worked out great.

Nice Enough, A little Overpriced
I got these to replace my old headset (6yo pair of Sennheiser PC37X from massdrop) and they were nearly twice as expensive with only so-so sound quality comparatively (and according to the people I talk to with them – the mic picks up everything). You’re mostly paying for the aesthetic here. I do like them for that reason. They match my set up and look good.

Bad for big heads
tldr: Had to return the headset because I have a big head and this headset does not like big heads.I’ll start with the pros first:The headset itself has some really nice build quality compared to other gaming headsets I’ve bought. It has a lot of metal, and overall feels really sturdy. I’m no audiophile, but the sound from the headset seemed pretty good, at least better than my razer kraken v3s that I currently have. The bluetooth + normal wireless switching is awesome. I could connect the headset to my PC and Mac simultaneously so that I could easily use it during work. Finally, the mic is definitely top tier and you can watch reviews of this product to see just how good it is compared to other headset mics. Corsair seems to have this nailed down on most of their headsets and there isn’t much comparison. Now for the cons. The earcups don’t fully block out external noise, they seem to kinda float around my ears. This can be fixed through some third party cup replacements but still was a slight issue I noticed. The biggest issue for me was that it just was not comfortable at all. I have a fairly large head, and because of this, the head band was pressed on top of my head extremely hard. I even extended the headset to the max it could go and it still would not fit properly over my ears without me tilting it forward a bit. One day, after wearing it for around two hours, I took it off and noticed a red line across my head from the headband. The lack of cushioning in the headband plus the headset not being able to extend any further forced me to return this as I could not wear them for extended periods of time.

Impressive Wireless Quality
I only recently delved into wireless headsets for the simple ability to get up and move around my house without being tied down. I first went with an $80 Bluetooth headset without a boom mic. The sound quality and noise cancellation were great, but they ended up being very disappointing for the wider range of uses I needed it for. Mic quality was poor for conference calls and audio lag ruled out its use for wireless gaming. Worse yet, in any game that would use a mic, it dropped into a mono mode and it’s pretty hard to play games without the situational awareness of stereo sound. That’s my baseline.I picked these up to make up for the shortcomings of the last one. There’s no detectable audio lag. The boom mic provides clearer sound for others. There’s really no noise cancellation to speak of, but I knew that going in. The best thing about this headset (over other gaming headsets) seems to be the overall sound quality. Based on the reviews I watched, the headphone and microphone quality far exceeds any of the current competitors. My single biggest gripe — and why I can’t give it 5 stars — is the lack of all music controls on the headset proper. You can adjust the volume but that’s it. You can’t pause/play music and can’t change songs. This greatly diminishes its value for listening to music around the house.Pros:- Easy setup- Good fit, light but very sturdy- Great sound and bass (especially for a wireless gaming headset)- Excellent mic quality (again, for a wireless gaming headset)- No detectable latency- Solid range- Fully functional through USB-C connection (if battery is low)- 3.5mm provides good audio and mic on devices (though I couldn’t get this working on my PC)- iCUE good for equalizer and RGB lighting (if you don’t mind the battery drain of the latter)Cons:- No on-headset music controls. A crazy lapse for this price point and the otherwise high quality.Notes:- Turn the headset RGBs off. They seem to be a surprisingly huge power drain.- Some complain about the ear pieces being perfectly round, but this wasn’t an issue for me.

Great sounds, most uncomfortable headset ever
This headset has amazing sound quality, which likely accounts for all the incredible reviews, but I do wonder if the people who designed this ever actually tried it on a human head or asked for an opinion about how it feels. The fit is awkward on my ears (I have relatively small ears, so this has never been a problem), and the top (over head portion) feels like someone is taking a cheese grater to my scalp every time I wear it for longer than 30 minutes. I don’t know why. The leather is smooth, but this thing is just that painful. So, after spending a good deal on a new headset, I had to immediately go spend more money to cover that headset and add some cushioning so I could actually wear the thing. It didn’t fix the ill-fitting ear pieces, but at least top of my head won’t feel physically assaulted every time I put these things on.In short, for sound quality, these are great, just be aware, they are also painful.

Very solid headphones!
So after reading some of the reviews I felt a little hesitant on buying these. However, after revieving them and using iCUE the sound quality and mic quality are actually really good! Out of the box the headphones are average, but you have to open iCUE and adjust the surround quality and your mic settings to get what you are looking for out of them. They are a little uncomfortable, but I also never wear headphones so… that may be an influencing factor.Overall very solid choice and I am happy!

There is no power bottom in this amazing headset it’s a shame
No power button!!, really? why is nobody talking about this? how do y’all turn it off?on/off switch (in my opinion it is the most important thing in all electronic devices, no matter the size small, medium, large or the battery life) we always need to be able to turn it off! What would happen to a human not being able to sleep or rest? His life would be terribly short, right?well, there we go, same will be happen to our beautiful CORSAIR VIRTUOSO XT, I am going to give 3 stars because I have been using Corsair for years and because this XT Headset is possibly the best and most versatile headset out there today.Corsair’s Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT headset is extremely comfortable, versatile, and it delivers great sound. It can even connect and play audio from a PC and phone (or other Bluetooth device) at the same time also work in any console and have many customizaciones.bateria life is amazin y puedes escuchar hasta el sunbido de una abeja en tu juegos o videos.mi unico problema es no power button!! this is sad.

Sounds like Tin
Out of the box, it sounded like everything was recorded in a bathroom. I don’t own a DAC or anything like that to change it up. The mic also, according to my cyber-buddies, sounded “weaker”. Void Pro has been the only ones I’ve used, so it’s biased, but does it better so far from Corsair.

9.5/10. Works perfect for PC. Anything else, forget about it.
I’m sad. But that’s okay.If you plan on using this for anything other than PC, do not buy it. If it cost less, maybe, but for $180 it should be flawless on all levels. It has an excellent construction, is probably about an 8 on comfort (I normally use HyperX Clouds, which are probably a 10) and is slightly heavy feeling, presumably due to the materials. It’s good if you exclusively play on PC, using the included dongles and everything. Otherwise literally none of the features work, which I guess.. is expected. There’s just such a big difference using the mic through the 3.5mm to, say, an Xbox controller. You practically have to yell into the mic with it 1cm from your mouth in order for it to pick up your voice without sounding like you’re talking into a seashell (through 3.5mm wired.) The mic quality is one of the best from any headset if used on PC through the proprietary connectors.Audio is good, it’s full sounding and the bass is present.. not overbearing, not groundbreaking. They’re not punchy but for all intents and purposes the sound is still clear and detailed. Standalone headphones or speakers at this price range are still better, no doubt. The sounds are almost a little bit too separated for me but surely it can be tweaked with the EQ and all of that when using on PC. It almost sounds distant, which was odd. I got used to it though. The software is fine, standard Corsair iCue, and most of the features work perfectly. Goes to sleep when you’re not using it, the lights are customizable, nice and bright, and the mic has a mute button at the base where it attaches to the headset. I really liked that location for the mute button… although it doesn’t do anything when you use a 3.5mm connection. It has built-in mic monitoring called Sidetone (PC only) which works very, very well. I thought to myself, “metal construction? wireless? mic monitoring? USB-C charging?? and it works over 3.5mm, etc? No way!” and as with most things in the tech world, I was let down. It’s not their fault, really. I just wanted to use them for more than PC exclusively.. sort of a one trick pony. Which again, is fine.Overall if you play exclusively on PC then this headset is incredible. I play roughly 60% on Xbox and 40% on PC though.. I was just seriously disappointed at the loss of features and overall quality when switching to anything other than the wired USB or Slipstream connection. Really wanted to like it. There’s also no reason that this is $180. Even $120 or $150 and they’re still making an absolute killing.. this hardware isn’t expensive to manufacture at all.I can’t comment on the battery life but mine were slightly discharged when I got them and the battery indicator turned green quite quickly, they do charge fast. The reason I can’t write about the battery life is that these were back in the UPS Store within about 3 hours of me receiving them, and fidgeting with the settings and connectors. Supposedly it has a 20 hour life which I’d believe. That’s not wild.Hopefully the one I got wasn’t defective but for $180 that’s a risk I’m not taking, there are many other established headsets with near identical features, I’d take a plastic headset over these in my case and I would NEVER use a headset without metal construction. 100% of them will break.Anyway, I hope this is the review that allows you to make the plunge. Nearly flawless PC headset, a little pricey but that assumed with any remotely new electronic product. Want a wireless, feature packed PC headset with removable mic, cables, etc? Buy it. You won’t regret it in that case. Just.. not for me.

Fantastic except where it’s not
There’s a lot to love about these headphones. They’re comfortable, even for long periods, and mostly seem to be constructed from quality materials. The sound quality is generally quite good, and the battery holds a charge for a long time. They even look great. There’s just a few nagging problems.First, there’s an auto-shutoff feature that detects when there has been a lack of movement for a certain period, after which the headphones will automatically power down. On paper this sounds like a great idea. In practice, it means they are prone to cut out when you are the most focused or engaged, unless you deliberately remember to turn away from the screen every 10-15 minutes, or disable or extend this setting significantly. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely feels underbaked as a concept.Second, they’re pitched as having a 60 ft range. Although this isn’t patently false as it is with the Corsair HS80, this should come with a big, fat asterisk because it depends heavily on what else is in that 60 ft range. Like a lot of modern wireless headsets, it’s super touchy when it comes to interference. Sound shuts off completely within 15 ft of an active microwave, cuts out randomly if more than two walls are in the way, and cuts out sporadically starting at around the 45ft range. Count on it being reliable within 20 ft, somewhat reliable for the next 20, and touchy at best for the last 20.Third, I’ve encountered repeated problems with the firmware while gaming. At first, the sound is fantastic, but over time the sound slowly takes on a noisy, staticky crackle. This will take anywhere from a half an hour to two hours to become noticeable. The only thing that solves this is to switch the headphones from wireless to USB mode to disconnect them, the switching them back. Thing is, this only occurs while gaming, only very gradually, and seems to be worst when attempting to use 3D audio. It’s tolerable since it’s an easy occasional fix, but might have made me think twice about buying them had I known. And finally, the ear cups seem designed to need replacement. Fewer than 8 months into using them, I noticed one of the ear cuffs had come loose. Upon inspecting, I saw that two of the three attachments holding the cuff in place had already busted. I’m now 10 months into using them, and one of the cuffs has completely broken free while the other is barely hanging on. This seems to be the result of the cups being held in place by surprisingly brittle plastic. It’s not my first problem with ear cups on Corsair, so this was especially disappointing.3/5

Great headset
Its a great headset I have had only one problem. The mic keeps on falling out if I move to fast or even if i’m just sitting there and it slowly falls out. Overall, the sound is great in my opinion and nobody has complained about how it sounds on discord calls.

It’s Good, And Comfortable.

I heard the mic itself is bad. So I bought a Quadcast S. The headset itself is really good and works like a charm. Very comfortable for my big ears and it was on sale which is the best part!

Premium in the wrong places
What am I looking for in a headset? I want a headset play wireless and bluetooth at the same time. I want a headset that doesn’t scream gamer as I plan on showing my face in conference calls. I want a headset with a good microphone so that I don’t have to repeat myself. I want a reliable headset. This headset seemed to have checked all the boxes. Except Corsair manages to screw up everything they get right about this headset. I love the microphone. It’s great. Sounds super clear. Why is there a bright LED at the end of the end of the microphone that is always in my periphery? It’s super annoying. You can turn it off in the iCue software! One might say. And you’d be right. But that setting doesn’t get saved to your headset so if you use it on a different device or if you decide to use it via bluetooth only the light turns back on!The headset seems to be really well built and is heavy. That’s usually a good thing. The problem is that the clamping force on this headset is really light. Most other headsets will spread the weight of the headset against your ears and the top of your head. The top of your head bears the whole weight of the headset which makes it very uncomfortable to wear for a long time. At least for me.Well why don’t you just upgrade the earpads to make it more comfortable? First of all I shouldn’t have to do that after spending over $200 on a headset. Second of all I did and now I know why Corsair opted to use the thinner pads. I bought a pair of the thicker pads and I look absolutely ridiculous with the headset on. Like some kind of robot princess Leia. One of the selling points of this headset for me is that it doesn’t look “gamer”. The super wide head doesn’t exactly look professional either.I’m not an audiophile but the sound is bad. Voices seem distorted and higher pitches hurt my ears.I want to like this headset I really do, but there are so many negatives that I have to pass.

Simultaneous audio input
FOR HEAD-PAIN or EAR-PAIN:A sennheiser HD280 headband can be added to fix head pain. It is a tight fit, but it is extremely comfortable. Also some cloth cooling pad ear cups will help with heat and not deteriorate like stock Corsair cups. Both are on Amazon. This headset can accept audio from: wired USB C, Wireless USB dongle, Wireless Bluetooth, and wired Aux(3.5mm/line in). This headset can simultaneously (at the same time) combine audio sources from Line In (aux/3.5mm), Bluetooth, and EITHER USB line in or USB wireless dongle. (Meaning you can use 3 of the 4 audio inputs at the same time, where you can only choose one of two USB options)You control the USB volume using the volume wheel on the right cup (choose either wireless or wired USB using a switch near the volume wheel), the Bluetooth volume using the volume buttons on the right cup (hold the middle button to enter Bluetooth mode), and the AUX volume using the volume wheel on the provided aux cable. You can only output audio (via the mic input) to one device at a time it seems. It seems to prioritize Bluetooth mic input over USB mic input. But I haven’t done a ton of testing.Great for PC discord over Bluetooth, PS5 gaming over USB Dongle. The PS5 connection via AUX was echoing a lot when mic input was on, but worked perfectly using the USB Wireless Dongle.

For a flagship product, these were very disappointing.
I’ve been on the search for a solid wireless gaming headset, and after a ton of research, I decided to give the Corsair Virtuoso XT a shot. I ordered them along with the Corsair HS80s, and the Razer Blackshark V2, and sadly the Virtuoso XT’s were the worst of the bunch. As a disclaimer, my product may have been used even though I bought them as new. The unboxing experience left me thinking that the headset had been tampered with, and none of the components were wrapped the way they were in the HS80s box. This is just a guess, but something felt off when I opened the box.The Positives:I liked that the earpads were replaceable. I was able to grab some aftermarket earpads from Wicked Cushions, and they were easy to install. The Bluetooth and wireless dongle simultaneous connection is the best feature about this headset. This was the main reason why I wanted to try these so badly. I love the thought of being able to play my game and not worry about missing a phonecall or important notification. The headset’s separate controls located on the headset itself was also perfectly convenient. This feature worked great! The range was good enough for my small house. When I walked from one side of my small house to the other, I had 2 small hiccups at the furthest point, which isn’t perfect, but it was good enough. This, however, was the worst of the 3 I tested as the HS80 and BlackShark V2 had no hiccups in the same distance. The Negatives:Comfort is seriously lacking for a headset this expensive. The headband might’ve actually been worse than the earpads. The way it pushed into my head was really uncomfortable, and even after about 30 minutes with them on, I had to take them off. I also have a big head, so that could be part of the reason for discomfort. The earpads were too shallow and didn’t provide the comfort I wanted in a premium flagship product. This was something that I read in other reviews, so I purchased some Wicked Cushions replacements, and they were the perfect amount of padding needed on this headset. I much preferred the aftermarket pads to the stock, which again shouldn’t be an issue at this price point. The sound quality was not good enough. It felt like they were wrapped in plastic wrap before being placed on my ears. Everything was so muffled and not clean. Adjusting the EQ made things better, but still not good enough for me to actually enjoy my game sound and music.Sidetone was way too low, but this seemed to be a theme with the wireless headsets I purchased. It was roughly the same as the HS80s, with the BlackShark V2 having by far the worst Sidetone of the 3. All 3 were definitely not loud enough to be effective. The mic quality wasnt what I had hoped and expected. They boasted a broadcast quality mic, so I was especially excited to get in and try it out, but some friends pointed out that the HS80s mic was much better than the Virtuoso XTs. It was still good enough for daily use, but I guess I just expected better quality with how much it was built up in the description. In comparison to my wired $80 Logitech G Pro headset, the Logitech was streets ahead, but that’s also a possible unfair wired v. wireless comparison. The final negative, and by far the biggest red flag, was the connection consistently dropping out in weird ways. Multiple times, my sound would cut out in my discord party, but my mic would still be working. So they’d hear everything I said, but I wouldn’t hear a word of what they said. I had to exit the party and come back in to fix it, and this would happen 4 more times in the 2 hours I had this headset on. A major deal breaker. Then sometimes as it be fidgeting with the party to fix this, I’d go back into my game and notice I had no sound in my game. I fixed this by minimizing my game and bringing it back up. So the problems would almost alternate back and forth as I fixed them, which was incredibly frustrating. That just can’t happen with a $240 headset.Overall, I can’t recommend this gaming headset at all. I think there are far too many problems to make the purchase feel worth it. When you spend $240+ on a headset, you want something that’s great quality and that will work without issues. The underwhelming mic, bad sound quality, too low sidetone, and basic connection issues make the Virtuoso XTs a headset to avoid. Ive been told that no “good” wireless headsets exist yet, and the 3 I tested have so far only confirmed that theory. It really is a shame because I think Corsair did a great job with the simultaneous Bluetooth/Dongle connections, but that’s not enough for me to overlook everything else.

Great Quality
White version; Day 3 review;Pro’s:-Definitely a great improvement over my turtle Beach Gen2 S600’s.-Great sound quality for music, videos and zoom meetings. (Haven’t used for gaming yet)-I’ve had compliments on the microphone quality-The wireless connectivity was a breeze. I plugged in the USB and bam, they were instantly connected and working.-Amazing quality. The stitching, the leather, everything looks great.Con’s:The only negative that I can think of is the weight. They are much heavier than my previous headphones, but once you adjust them properly, it’s not a big deal.
