Life saver for double coats.
I have 4 dogs one is a German Shepherd that would take 4 or more towels to dry after a bath and this is awesome. It makes my Weimaraner’s short hair kinda fluffy after bath because its dry it so fast. I have read the reviews and I have not had any problems with my washer (front load) getting off balance from it. I do not dry it in the dryer per the instructions but it is dry on a rack by the next morning no problem. As far as the smell complaint some people have… of course it smells like wet dog after you use it, so yes I wash it each time I use it. Overall it still has cut back greatly on my overall laundry as it takes the place of several towels. It would be nice if they offered a bigger size for bigger or thicker hair dogs but I’m just going to buy more because you really need more than one to really get a dog like a German Shepherd’s double coat truly dry.

Great product
This is great for my dog who is low to the ground and often ends up with wet paws and belly. I can easily wipe him down. The pockets make it easy to wipe his paws.

Expedites Bath Time Infinitesimally
My dogs coat holds so much water for so long. Usually after a bath, we have to use two to three full size bath towels to get her try, all while alternating hot and cool air with a blow dryer. It’s exhausting and not pleasant.So I bought this to try expedite the process and reduce the amount of laundry afterwards. And boy, does it!!! It’s crazy the difference this little piece of material makes when drying my pet. I have to dry her with this for ten minutes, versus the usual 30-45 minutes with a regular towel.If your pet’s coat is thick and takes a very long time to get dry, give this a try and make your life that much easier.

Deep pockets for hands
I use this to clean my dog’s face and paws after playing in wet grass/mud. She is an 8 month old long hair german shepherd. She responds well to the softness, and the pockets enable me to grab her paws and quickly clean them.

Best dog drying towel
We got this towel and another better looking brand (without paw prints), and the hand pockets on this one are far superior. I didn’t know how necessary hand pockets were for drying a rain drenched puppy, but after using this one I can’t even use the other one with its short triangle pockets that don’t work.

Absorbs!
I have the fluffiest pug and it used to take at least 4 towels to dry him. This is the only thing besides a face towel that I use now. You can slip your hands into the side pockets and dry your puppies up so easily and they love the texture of it. My little Balu seems to like to play with it while I am drying it. I havent put it in the dryer yet but its so hot here that all I have to do is let it air dry..

My dog has a coat thick as carpet. She needs allergy shampoo baths twice a week & with a standard toweling & walk in the sun afterwards, she still took all day to dry. After drying with this towel & a walk, she is way drier, just damp & not leaving wet spots on the sofa

Works so well!!
I bought this thinking… it’s probably not worth it, but we have two chocolate labs and live on a lake so … worth a try.I could not have been more wrong. It’s amazing!! Using the slots for your hands is soooo much easier than trying to use a bath towel. And oh my god I can’t believe how much more it absorbs. Sometimes we dry off one dog with this and the other with a towel. The towel is always soaked but so is the dog. We always end up using this on the second dog too and it still absorbs more water! I need to order a second one just so we can do both dogs at the same time.It’s easy to wash and has held up really well so far.If you’re on the fence about this… definitely get it. It’s worth double what it costs.

Wow, it works great for drying my dogs.
After I bought the first one, I bought a second one because I have four dogs and often like to bathe them all in one day. This towel works as it should. It is soft and dries the dogs much better than towels. It works so well that I used it last week to dry my Tesla, and it works perfectly for drying a car without scratching it. Washes great and seems like it will hold up.

Works better than a regular towel
I have a Tibetan Terrier with incredibly thick fur. She loves to play outside so drying her is very challenging. This shammy is awesome! Nothing will completely dry her but this works immensely better than a regular towel. It also dries quickly and never smells like mildew. I’ve machine washed it a bunch of times and it’s still in great condition. We love it so much that I’m thinking of buying them as gifts for friends who own dogs.

My fur baby loves it
My first baby loves 8t. He is a 10 lb Yorkie Poo with more Poodlr type fur. This towel is awesome. He is comfortable when I use it on him, it dries him off well, its easy to grip, I was able to hang dry it quickly and my fur baby lives it.

They do work well!
Initially I was unhappy with the price. When I tried to cancel my order with hours of placing it, they wouldn’t let me. They said it was already in in the system and I would have to receive it and return it. That was the plan, but when I received it, it had been sent FEDEX and it was way to difficult to send back so I kept them. I think that was they plan to begin with…. Anywho… I had to wash them 3 times to get the petroleum(?) smell out of them. They do work really well, but seem pricey. They wash up well and seem durable so maybe they are a good deal for the price.

Best towel to dry puppy. Love the pockets for your hands – easy to dry puppy.
Loved it. Easy to dry puppy with the pockets for your hands. Soft and absorbent. I wish I could have a smaller one just for drying feet on rainy days. My puppy is small dog 27 pounds and has long hair. It dries her quickly. I will buy another to have two on hand.

You need this
If you have a dog, you need this. We live in the Georgia mountains where it rains quite a bit through the winter and spring. We had hundreds of muddy or wet paw prints on the hardwood in our main area of the house. I was constantly mopping the floors and bathing the dogs to keep the wet dog smell out too. This towel is amazing, it not only dries the dogs fur, it also soaks the muddy water from their feet. It has hand mitts on each end, and our dogs want us to dry them because they love the attention and massage. No more muddy paw prints and no wet dog smell.

Very absorbent!
This shammy is great – I now have 5 of them! We have 2 golden retrievers and they get messy, so frequent baths are a must. After showering we rub the dogs down with one shammy for each dog. The shammies get them pretty dry! It cuts the blow drying time at least in half. We also use them to rub down the legs if the dogs stepped in dirt or mud, or got wet in rain. The shammies start to smell after a few uses, but they’re machine washable, so we just throw them in the washer and hang to dry.

CLEAN AND DRY BIG DOG IN NO TIME!
My 70 lbs American bulldog (short coat) doesn’t like baths, so we quickly get over it, use the Shammy and dry him. It doesn’t even take 5min to dry him, this one does a fantastic job. We thought in the beginning “who needs a shammy anyways?? We can dry the dog with normal towels”…yeah, we are rookies…We use the Shammy like, 3-4x until it starts stinking and then goes to the wash. I ordered now another Shammy because I liked it and while the other is in the wash, I can use the new one and alternate!RECOMMEND!

So great bought another one.
These things are great, so worth the price. It’s crazy how much more absorbent they are than towels. I came back and bought a second one- one for baths and one to hang by the door. I live in Seattle and have a 30 lb spaniel who’s hair grows like a weed and catches every bit of mud and muck on our walks and it’s perfect. It does hold on to that moisture so either hang dry or wash immediately otherwise it gets a bit musty. I toss it in The wash with my other “gross” cleaning/mess towels, not with any of my nice stuff. I like the hand pockets too, helps me hang on to a squirmy dog.

A must for dog owners
We have love these for drying our dogs. We take them to the beach once a week & are a must to get dry. No other towel absorbs like these do. Love the hand pockets to keep it from being chewed on by the puppy while drying him off. Awesome for bath tile for pups as well.

Works better than a towel!
I used this today after giving my Great Pyrenees a bath. He has a double coat that holds lots of water even after he shakes. It did a great job of pulling water out of his coat so he’ll dry faster than if I used a towel. I actually could wring water out of it.I dropped a star as it was small to use on my dog. I can see it fitting around a 40lb dog and smaller, but it doesn’t fit around a 70lb dog or larger. It just took longer to use. When you get to finally drying off your dog, most dogs want the bath done already. Being so small, the dog shammy did take an extra 5 minutes to use on his whole coat.

ABSORBENT!!!!
I’ve used towels in the past (plural) to dry off my dog completely, and that took about 30 minutes of chasing him around the house. I swear that this (the FIRST time I used it) dried off my dog almost COMPLETELY in less than two passes over his coat. Granted….I have him cut VERY short to begin with (and I’ve also started doing that myself at his age — 19 in a week), but even the towels weren’t doing a good job. He was no longer dripping wet after the first pass, and after my second attempt…I didn’t even get water on my hands from his coat anymore. WELL DONE with this one. 😉

I love this Dirty Dog Shammy, after my pet has a romp in the snow and a walk in the rain he enjoys me drying him off with the Shammy. I’ve even spotted him rolling on it as if drying himself off.You won’t be disappointed, the absorbency is great.

This was another one of the towels Zi bought after reading reading tbe AKC list best towels for your dogs.I agree with most tbey listed, except I can’t see drying any more than 2 , or ine really wet pup.It looks like a shag rug. On each is a big pocket you can put your hands and and give you pup a msssage. Because my boy has shredded so many dog towels, I was a bit worried. But no since you have your meds holding the towel, it’s almost impossible for your wet pup to grab it from you and start whipping it like a matador at a bullfight!! Plus with the soft nubby material, I gave many snoot and head rubs. Hope it will last. Washed and I just put it in the dryer for a short time. Our favorite, but sure would like a different color than brown

I use normally use a ‘chammy’ when drying off my 2 retrievers after water work. However, this towel is awesome after I hose off the dogs or before they come in the house after romping in wet grass. The dogs love it too.

Great for Our 100+ pound Dog
This “shammy” won’t completely dry your dog, but it gets pretty close. We use it on dogs from 60-105 pound dogs. It will dry one dog of this before it needs to dry out itself, so we have one per dog. The “mitt” design works wonders. Only issue is they used to come with a tag strong enough to use to hang it up by the tag. Newer ones don’t seem to have tags at all. Not a bog deal, though. I hang them up by one of the mitt ends. They machine wash and dry great with no disintegration. The dogs love them and want to be dried off even when it isn’t raining.

Perfect for out of pool Doggos!
Two golden retrievers are hard to dry off when it’s time to come in from pool time.I bought one for each dog.The amount of water it soaks up of them is amazing.I have the rugs they sit on when it’s time to dry off too, and could never do without them since they are in the pool every day, year round.

Works great!
I used this once so far after giving my aussie mix Mickey a bath. So much easier than a towel and it was very absorbent. Love the feature that you put your hands in each side. It’s very plush and Mickey was glad it didn’t take long to towel dry him. I haven’t washed it yet because he wasn’t dirty with mud etc. The only thing I noticed is it takes a long time to dry, but if it was summer I’m sure it would dry outside must faster. I suggest laying it out flat to dry because when you hang it up with the tab it takes longer to dry. Great drying towel.

Does the job
I purchased the dog gone smart towel for my dog from Amazon. I washed it before first use and the hook to hang it dry was broken. Disappointing but besides that, the towel is absorbent and does the job.

Works so well…
Yeah not going back to bath towels ever again to dry my dogs off after a swim, bath or rain! This small investment will pay off big time in your quest to get you pup dry in no time..I have been using a couple of regular bath towels designated just for my pups for years and they did okay but these blow them out of the water in absorbency & design.If you have an active dog that loves swimming or gets bathed at home on a regular basis these are a game changer. The hand pocket allows you to efficiently wrap it around your dog and get most of the moisture off of them quick. My girl is long hair dachshund and wiggly so I’d have to practically wrap her up like a mummy in the regular bath towel to get moisture soaked up..the hand pocket and design of this allowed me to get most of the moisture off her even through her wiggling without having to mummify her (:If you have a dog that gets wet – get these!

Falling Apart
I have a small dog. The towel is quite small and hard to use. I washed it after use and several of the seams have come loose and the weave has snagged. Not impressed.

Good but not great
This had so many great reviews I thought it was going to be magical. It’s definitely a good buy, but not as great as the reviews seem. I have a medium-long haired dog and it works just okay. Even after a good rub he’s still fairly damp (and so is the product at that point). I mostly use it to clean his paws now and don’t bother too much with his coat. Also – the fabric hook has started to rip at the seam after hanging for a month on a hook.

Not the best
I was disappointed at the lack of fast absorbency of this towel compared to the large microfiber ones I bought at the same time. It’s a nice gimmick – to put your hands in the pockets, but with a worked up large wet dog it’s hardly worth the effort, and then the little fingers don’t really dry as well as a simpler design of just a good towel.

Perfect towel when bringing in the dogs

Very good and downtime drying for Pomeranian
I like this towel a lot! I have a Pomeranian so of course they have a lot of hair, and this helped so much. It took less time to dry the hair with also the help of a blowdryer. This is a must!

Its a Towel – but a great one
At the end of the day, its a fancy towel.A regular towel for people, new or worn out, will work just as well.HOWEVER.With the same effort and time as using a normal towel, this dried twice as fast, and seemed to do a better job on our dog’s double coast. It absorbed the water in her fur’s roots a lot better than our regular towels, and she was almost entirely dry in half the time once we were done.If you’re hesitant on the price, I’d suggest giving this a pass; it won’t revoutionize anything, since its still just a towel.But if you’re ok with spending a little extra, it proved to be a good investment for us. Its easy to clean, and let us have a “dog specific” towel that we cleaned with our other “dog” linens, instead of us accidentally mixing it into our regular towels. It was also easier to ruffle up our dog when we dried her, vs. using a normal towel (yay mitten feature!).Overall, it does what it advertises, and we were (unexpectedly) very happy with it. Would recommend, just as long as you know its an improved version of a cheaper product, and aren’t expecting miracles.

Works Better Than a Towel
Bought for use on Standard Poodle. In general, the shammy works well and it is much better than a towel. The hand pockets make it easy to use especially one the legs and tail. Poodle seemed to enjoy it better than a towel, too. It’s not five stars because the shammy was soaked through after only drying off about half her body. I expected one to be enough because the picture shows it being used on a lab.

Super helpful for drying my dog!!
Ordered this towel to dry off my golden doodle’s wet/ sandy feet when coming inside. Love this towel! It is super absorbent and super soft so my pup really likes it. I also use it after I bathe her prior to drying her. If you have a doodle you know how long it can take to dry these pups. This towel really does a great towel pre-dry so that my time with the dryer is almost half.Would definitely recommend!!
