Fun. Portable. Game for traveling
I love how portable this game is. Perfect for a roadtrip or playing in a relaxed enviornment since it doesn’t require everyone to sit around a table or something like that. My husband and I take it for long trips in the car. Perfect for sitting around a campfire.

I love the digital Catch Phrase
We already owned a copy (ours is white and blue) and we wanted to get this one for a family member. Got to play it with them on Christmas. The only complaint I can come up with for this version is that the ticking sound is a little louder than it needs to be. But once you try to play Catch Phrase this way, you never want to go back to the paper version of the game. This keeps time and score while displaying your phrase to you, so it’s everything you need. The batteries in mine last for a year or two with regular use, so hopefully this is no different. You can’t turn the game off, it just shuts off by itself if no buttons are pressed for a while. For those who have never played this, the game itself is fast paced and fun. It is ideal as a party game or in larger groups. When one person starts he/she has a word or a phrase displayed on the little digital screen. Let’s say it’s “Living the Dream”. The individual then has to try to get his/her teammates to guess and say out loud the phrase without saying any of the words, saying what they rhyme with, or gestures. With the exception of occasionally getting stuck, or accidentally saying a form of one of the words (like “to live) and having to start over with a new phrase, it is a quick game of verbal charades – in this example maybe you would tell people how many words and maybe getting them to guess “the opposite of dying?” and “what do you do when you sleep?” and hoping that they put it all together. But the fun of it is that you have to think on the spot and you never know where people’s minds will go with any particular phrase. The entire time you play, a timer is going. You want your team to guess your phrase and pass the game to the next person in the circle (on the opposite team). They have their own phrase to try to get people to guess. You can look over their shoulder to make sure they don’t accidentally cheat. You don’t want the buzzer to go off in your hands, because that’s a point for the other team, so people try to be as fast as they can.Since this is such a fun game to get people pumped and it can be played very quickly (for example, while people wait for more guests to arrive), we play it often and sometimes adapt to our own rules if there aren’t the right number of players – like everybody guessing instead of having teams (again, just because it’s fun), or playing “honest Catch Phrase” with just the two of us – where there is only one person per team, so obviously you have to trust them to do their best to get you to guess even though it is not, ultimately, in their best interest. My point is, if you like games, or even if you aren’t sure if you are going to be big into board gaming and are just getting your first games – you should have this one on the shelf. There is no learning complicated rules and if one person isn’t particularly good at it, they can often be teamed with those who understand how they think best, or just the stronger team that would win all the time if you didn’t have someone to even it out 😉

So much fun!
This is a great game. It is so much fun. I only marked it down because the screen isn’t the best. We sometimes only had 3 people to play, so we found that not having teams was just as much fun. We just took turns until the buzzer went off. Then passed it to the next person. We didn’t keep score, but you can easily keep score, by giving points to how many answers you got people to say.

Love this game, easy to learn. A mix between charades & hot potato. Super fun! Didn’t come with batteries and no box for the game. But still worth the price. NOTE: it takes AAA batteries. Would recommend for family game night or any gathering really. A great ice breaker game.

Best group game
We are huge catchphrase fans! It’s a game that brings endless laughter and can be played over and over. We always play it as a family, and it is frequently brought out in get-togethers. It takes less than a minute to teach and there is no set up or clean up! It can be played competitively or just for fun, too, which is really great depending on the players’ personalities. Love love love!

Same great game, way less plastic packaging
This was a gift for a college student to take with her back to school. I already have the game at home and really enjoy bringing it to gatherings, it’s a very portable game that’s fun and simple to pick up. I didn’t realize that the packaging was going to be different so I was surprised when I first received it. I thought it may have been a refurbished Or returned item, which would be fine as long as it was in like new condition. Well, the product was in the new condition that I expected it to be. The frustration-free box was easy to wrap and easy to open, AND I’m also all for less plastic packaging, so I am overall pleased.

The backlight behind the clue is awesome in this edition of this game!
I absolutely LOVE this game!! This “improved” version is much nicer as now you can actually SEE the clue because of the backlight that lights up the clue word!! The lettering size is also larger now, I can see it without my readers now!!When I ordered these games (one for our home and one for a gift) I didn’t realize what “frustration free” packaging was… the games each came in a plain brown, generic box… not exactly good for gift giving, but just fine for the one I was keeping for our home. The plain box wrapping did include the instructions, but I would have preferred a regular package for gift giving.Overall I love this purchase.

Not as good as the old school version
This is a basic version of the game with a few categories and no option to change timer or game settings. Most of the words not in the entertainment category are almost impossible to describe. The game was way over the head of a 15 year old guest. Probably wouldn’t buy this again and try to find the old school version from the 2000s.

this bag is absolutely PERFECT!! I am a pretty hardcore disc golfer …
Wow, this bag is absolutely PERFECT!! I am a pretty hardcore disc golfer so this bag wouldn’t quite suit my needs since I carry 20-25 discs at a time and do not carry a ton of beverages other than a water or two. But, my brother in law is more of a casual disc golfer that loves to drink lots of brews more than he needs disc capacity, so when I gave him this bag he was absolutely ecstatic. He used to carry a sinch bag with his discs in them, and an insulated cooler over the other shoulder to carry all his beer. Any time I’ve played with him lately he rants about how much he loves this bag and thanks me over and over again. He can easily stack 2 six packs inside the main compartment, and a large towel over that for the winter disc season. He only carries 5-6 discs so they all conveniently fit in the mesh side compartments meant for discs. Lastly, the solo drink holder on top of the bag is honestly the best drink holder I’ve ever seen on any bag. It is DEEP so it holds a can or bottle very well, keeping it upright and presenting it from tipping or spilling. If you’re a casual disc golfer and you love cold beverages or don’t use many discs, this bag is THE bag for you!

Does not come in an official box
The game comes only in a mailer box and there is not official game box. Most families have game shelves or drawers and this does not store well. The ‘ON’ switch is an easy push button, so in a drawer it can turn on easy if it gets shifted, running the batteries down.Do better Hasbro.

Yet One More Classic
I love this thing. It’s so much easier than dealing with cards, quite frankly. Easier to tote around. Harder to lose. I had one similar when I was in college and I nearly broke up with my then-boyfriend upon finding out that when he played this game and someone guessed something correctly, he always made a little motion in the air like he was tipping a little top hat. He was on thin ice for awhile because of that. We would end up breaking up anyway, so I don’t fault the game. It’s a wonderful game. I’ve given several as gifts and own this exact one currently. A must-have for game night! (Just don’t tip a little invisible top hat, PLEASE.)

Love this game!
We always play this game during our yearly girls weekend. It’s so much fun and always makes for a lot of laughter! The one we play on The girls trips is red in color and online it was very expensive. I got this little black one for a whole lot less money and the only complaint I have is there is not an off/on button. It turns itself off but then it also can turn itself back on if it’s packed somewhere that presses the button. It probably does not have as Many categories etc. as the more expensive one but for us, that doesn’t really matter. I bought this to take on a family trip and it might be used one night.

Great game!
The game is maybe 8-10” wide, so it’s easy to bring to game nights at a friends house. It may be a good thing to bring to parties as an ice breaker as well! This is a clean game, so none of the phrases are raunchy or dirty, which makes it good for kids too! This game is very, VERY easy to learn how to play. Instructions are basically to get your teammate(s) to guess the phrase on the lcd screen WITHOUT using ANY of the words (or parts of words) within the phrase in your hints. Can’t use “sounds like/rhymes with” either because that’s cheating. Read the rules. They’re simple. This game will get you frustrated at yourself for not being able to describe the words and frustrated with your team for not guessing hints that should be obvious lol the ridiculous things you and your team will guess will get you to laugh so hard that you’ll run out of time and lose the round! SO much fun!TL;DR: 10/10 clean, extremely fun, mildly frustrating, and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone!

A game night hit!
I saw this on Jimmy Kimmel one night and had to Google it to find out what game it was. We have a weekly game night and play it almost every time. It’s fast paced, funny and it’s the kind of game that you can play for 5 minutes or an hour. It’s always “ just one more round” with us!It’s easy to learn, and us olds can read the screen without glasses.

Really fun family game
We enjoy playing this game on family night. My 10 year old could easily understand how to play and operate the handheld device. I love that the game does not have many pieces to keep up with and potentially lose. Everything you need to play the game is built into the handheld device. It makes clean up a breeze. I do suggest sitting close to one another when playing to prevent dropping the device accidentally when trying to pass it between players.

Super fun game but the original is better
Catchphrase is my all-time favorite family game. It’s fun, exciting, and never gets old. There’s a wikipedia site that describes gameplay if you want to know what it’s about. It’s best with ages teen to adult and best with 6+ players. But, still fun with 4 players. Kids can play, but it will be more challenging as they probably won’t know what a lot of the clues are. I have played catchphrase at lease 50 times over the last 7 or so years and still can’t wait to play it again. Even though I’ve played it over and over, it still don’t know the clues by heart because each person has their own way of describing a clue.I think I have bought each version except the ultimate edition. I own the original, the “decades”, the more “adult” version (can’t remember the name) and now, this version. This version (black case) is still fun, but the clues are quite a bit more challenging. There are less single word clues and more phrases. The phrase clues always tend to be more challenging and time-consuming, which means less people getting a turn and a little less excitement. If you’ve played the original so much that you’ve memorized the clues, then I would recommend this one; otherwise, look for the original and go with that one – its has the red and white casing.

The words are terrible
I remember playing an older version of this game with friends. It was so fun because the words were simple. This new version however has very odd phrases… stuff I’ve NEVER heard anyone ever say. I’m a native English speaker, i wanted to play this with my foreign friends but i see now that it won’t be possible.I’m sure it’s fun if you’re smarter, but i honestly can’t see anyone being able to describe half these words and then someone actually being able to guess it.

Love this game
We love playing this game with friends or family. We had the older version probably 20 years old or more. We wanted a more updated version. Some of the younger players had never heard of some of the people on the older version. If your looking for a fun party game or family game everyone should have one of these.

Meh….not as good as the original
The timer is super short so you pass it maybe 3 times and then it buzzes. It’s easy to tell when it’s about to buzz so your DB teenager starts saying their clues slower to manipulate the clock. Use a o get 5-7 passes before buzzer

Fun game, disappointing quality
The game itself, 5 stars! The 3 star rating is due to disappointment of quality. The unit is obviously light, cheap, plastic and screen is so low res digital it looks like its from 2000. We have the original catchphrase and have for many many years. It’s solid, heavy in a good way, and feels like quality. This quality is a big downgrade. But again, game is fun, it’s nice to have new words and phrases after playing the original for over a decade.

Fun game, cheap presentation
Catchphrase is easier and more exhilarating than Taboo. It’s a fast-paced word game best played with a small crowd — about a dozen players is ideal, but more or fewer can play. I’ve been wanting this game for a long time, so I jumped to get it on sale for Cyber Monday. It came in a plastic sleeve inside a cardboard packing-type box. The game is great, especially for parties, but the sound can get annoying pretty fast. The most unfortunate part is that there’s no on/off switch. As a student who carries everything in a backpack, I do NOT recommend just tossing this in a bag! If the big button on the front accidentally gets pressed, it will start making loud ticking noises — which can lead to awkward social situations. The plastic body of the game is pretty cheaply made, but I guess you get what you pay for. The screen lights up red (I wish it were blue or green). Overall, I’m glad I have it, but due to its size and the noise factor, it’s very inconvenient to travel with.
