Good but needs a perch which isn’t slippery. Add your own on top of the perch which comes with this for safety
Good but needs a perch which isn’t slippery. My little monkey birds love playing on this thing and they keep slipping. was concerned about this, so I added a perch in front of the water cup, instead of just leaving the plastic one which s part of the whole piece. This is working great. The perch I added for parakeet/budgies is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002DGYXW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 here on amazon. Now they can play with the plastic and each other through the cover for the water cup and they aren’t slipping. Also, the mini size is best, I think, because mine keep trying to climb in, and they can’t because it’s too small, so they won’t fall into the water with both the added perch (size small) (use whichever one works for you if not the one I listed above), they won’t slip into the water like a few people have mentioned, and I was definitely worried about that when I watched them last night discovering this new watering hole/toy (to them).

Best feeder of all!
So easy to use/fill/clean. You can have multiple feeders for reg seed, millet, fresh fruit, etc. Each bird can have its own station to avoid fighting. LOVE it!

Okay but not what I thought it was
It’s okay for a regular feeder, personally wanted to store extra food for my love birds. This is a standard size feeder. I’m sure you’d enjoy if used as expected!

Perfect size for my Parekeet cages. I had to go out of town, so I put additional bird food in each cage. You can also use for additional water dishes as well.

Great for my Parrolet
I was tired of my Parrotlet getting into her food dish to eat. Not only causing wasted food, but she would poop in the dish too. This resolved the problem. Saving on her food and keeping her dish poop free.

Like but One Design Flaw
Cups are sturdy, well made and attach firmly to the cage. The medium size takes up a lot of room if your cage is small and the smaller size needs frequent refilling so check the size description before ordering so that there are no surprises. I like the ease of removing the locking cups for refilling, however, there is one flaw. It is nearly impossible to thoroughly clean these feeders. The clear lid does not come off, therefore, dirt etc. becomes trapped in the crevice between the two. No amount of soaking did the trick either. To remedy this – I purchased new feeder cups and put a thin strip of silicone sealer between the cover and the cup. Problem solved.

Not for Small Birds
First: honestly, I was most concerned with keeping my cockatiel’s waste out of his drinking water and this works very well for that purpose. The seeds and hull still fly inside when he’s eating from his hanging millet treat, but that doesn’t concern me since they always sink to the bottom and I change his water every day anyway. Second: This is very sturdy, but quite large. I don’t recommend it for smaller birds at all because the size would allow them to perch on the edge and soil their drinking water (though it might make a good bird bath). And, third: there is no perch on this, so it must be put near one for access. Since I have several perches in my bird’s cage and he is a cockatiel, this wasn’t a problem for me. But, if your bird doesn’t have long tail feathers, you will need to make sure that the perch is far enough away that the bird’s vent can’t hang over the water.

Thank god, a bird feeder that stays put!
This bird feeder stays put, is easy to remove and fill. It comes with a hood to reduce seed scatter. I’m sick of my birds getting inside the bowl and just kicking the seed all over the place. I’ve been in search of an adequate feeder. Previous feeders that I purchased were the silo type and I had to constantly fill them as they wouldn’t hold enough seed. Also, they didn’t stay securely attached to the side of the cage. I had to wire them on securely, which didn’t work out too well. I bought two, and these are grand.

Keeps the seeds from flying all over
I purchased a few of these. They are very sturdy and extremely easy to install. I purchased them primarily because they were easy to remove to fill and clean. But the best part is that they keep a lot of the food that used to fly all over in the cage. Some of the plastic edges were a bit sharp – just uncomfortable to handle but not cut. A bit of sandpaper fixed that easy.

They’re tiny but nice
For the price my budgies like them and they’re easy to remove and clean. I had basic ones and idk that these are like that much better but ya know they’re colorful and have the cute little round perch which I actually don’t know how stable the birds feel on it?!They’re flimsy ish feeling but also a neat design. They are only for small birds. Like my parakeets are the biggest type of bird you’d want to use this for. Maybe finches or some other tiny breed of bird but they are about 1.5″ deep for the food & water and about 1.5″ across. So I have a 2 tablespoon measuring cup from medicine that was new and I just use that for my birds big food container to scoop food into the cage container and I can fit 1 and a half scoops of food into the new container.

It’s okay
I’ve tried many of these for water and this is the only one that actually held up to the cage. I bought two and my little babies get clean water daily because they actually finish it as well it’s nice that they have a stand on it. Unlike the other ones they don’t like it.Cons: dirty stuff still gets in the water. It’s a bit hard to clean would’ve been nice if it came w a cleaning sponge but I can buy that on my own.

I use these in my glider cages for a more open water source
I bought these for my gliders, to provide a more open style water source like they prefer to have. I do like these but there are a few concerns. 1) mainly am not thrilled that they seem to use an aquarium glue or other adhesive to secure feeder cup- so to address this I do not fill the water up that far to keep the adhesive from soaking. 2) some may worry about size of perch in the little size, to which I say in this case, just install the perch at floor level to prevent the hazard of a glider potentially getting stuck. These could also be used to hold a bit of side kibble as well. My 20+ gliders all have most definitely increased their water intake in the change of source, which is a good thing for sure!

Great for pet rats
I ordered two (size small) water cups and I really like them. I wanted more than just a water bottle for my pet rats because it’s a good idea to have more than one source of water in their enclosure. I was suggested to buy some bird feeders and use them as water “bowls”.It’s easy to clean since the cup is easily removable without having to remove the entire contraption. One problem I had with other bowls was that they did not attach to anything, this one attaches to the enclosure’s bars which helps with any messes or having them move it around and spill it everywhere. If you have rats, I would suggest the small size, the bigger ones might tempt them to play in it. Getting a couple might be nice too, that way you can place them in different areas.

Decent material, pretty sturdy!
The feeders did shake a little whenever my birds landed on them, and they were hesitant to use them due to the dome, but after a bit they realized it was safe, and didn’t mind using them!Dust did tend to get stuck in the corners a lot, however, so that was my only main issue.

Super value!
These were priced so inexpensive I just had to buy them for my parakeets and they are great! Great size and less mess. One of my guys is very messy! A superb value as the JW line of toys and accessories are very nice quality. I just wish you could buy more than three. I understand at this price bc they are so cheap you could easily resell. But the limit should be a little higher like limit of five. Just great quality! Very pleased!

“Clucking Great” -my hens
TL;DR: I use this for my chicken coop. It keeps rain and droppings out of the oyster shell which saves me money due from waste.I would LOVE to have one of these made with stainless steel and a glass or UV resistant plastic top.I found the small one in a pet store and used it as a test run. Sometimes the rain will blow into the bottom of my coop from the side and it would ruin any oyster shell in a cup and make a mess. The top cover fixes that problem for me. Large is the one in the picture (beside of the rooster). If I find the small one (it broke after a couple of years and I replaced it with the large size) I will take a picture for comparison.I may spray paint the plastic with a UV resistant paint to extend the life. Sun just naturally degrades plastic and this wasn’t meant to be outdoor use.Things I like about the Large Size:+ Cup is removable, just twist it a bit and lift it out of the ring.+ Doesn’t have a perch+ Larger capacity: I don’t have to refill it as often. Any little time saver on the farm is helpful.Negatives about the Large Size:-The ribbed washer is a bit annoying to put into place because it slips off of the little square piece. I wish there was a way to hold it better. You decide on the alignment you like the best for your cage setup I’d recommend glueing it in place.Things I like about the Small Size:+Doesn’t take up much space+Sufficient for a couple of hensNegatives about the Small Size:-Has a perch: I put a piece of wax paper on my glass top stove and melted it off-Cup doesn’t come off the ring. You have to remove the whole setup to clean it.

It’s Helpful & Does The Job
I needed a covered water bowl for my African Grey. Did not expect this to hold up as well as it has against their destructive instincts, being plastic. But she likes it and does not destroy it, so small victories! It hung up easily inside her cage above the poo & seed flinging zone. The downside is, it’s too small and awkwardly shaped so it’s not super easy to clean or see inside of. It gets slimy if it isn’t regularly cleaned (which of course you should be doing anyway, but slime is UGH). I wish it was larger, easier to get a full hand into for cleaning, with a larger hood/door. Finding things that work for large parrots is just a chore… but this does the job.

Good, but not the perfect solution to my problem.
In addition to the metal bowls that came with the cage, my electus parrot, Zazu, needs a water dispenser that will prevent her from contaminating her water when she puts her food into her water bowl. I had the perfect water dispenser for her, until the spout got broken. It was a plastic bottle that had a very strong plastic mounting on the outside of the cage. The bottle had a flat side and was also mounted outside of the cage with only the drinking spout sticking inside the bars. That way I could easily remove the bottle to refill or clean it. I have searched all over for a replacement, with no success.Every other water bottle I tried did not work, because they were held onto the bars with a metal clip, which Zazu detaches instantly, knocking the bottle to the floor. I like the JW clean cup because of the outside mounting system, which so far the bird has not been able to remove. I bought two, one for food and one for water. However, it is impossible for me to remove the cup as long as Zazu is in the cage, because she tries to bite me every time I put my hand inside the cage.On the other hand, she absolutely adores my husband, and wouldn’t dream of biting him. So I have to wait until he comes home so he can take her out of the cage and perch her on his shoulder while I remove and refill the cups. I am also still using the metal bowls, which attach to little doors which swing out from the cage for removal. So … I will keep looking for a water dispenser for Zazu that can be mounted completely outside her cage so that I can refill and clean it while she is still in her cage.

Exactly what I was looking for!
I bought this to put in my hamster’s (homemade) carrier. I wanted something that I could secure to the carrier to hold water and/or water-rich foods like cucumber or sprouts. This completely fits the bill! The perch bar has some traction to it and the clear cover helps keep the bedding out of the cup. I have a chinese hamster and he doesn’t seem to have any difficulty getting to the good stuff that I put in the cup! I’ve always had an issue with trying to figure out how to get the water or veggies to my hamster without getting everything inside the carrier wet. Because the cup is so deep and narrow, it keeps everything in place and my hamster can easily get to the food and water inside. I like knowing that my hamster has access to hydration if he wants or needs it.The only downside is that I can’t get the clear top part to separate from the bottom of the cup. This makes cleaning a bit more difficult, but it’s probably user error!> It easily & sturdily attaches to the carrier (or cage).> Keeps the food and water inside & the bedding outside.> Textured perch allows for easy access to the cup.> Easy to remove & reattach the cup without having to remove & reattach the entire assembly.I would, and probably will, buy this again. I would recommend it to others.

Finally found a feeder that keeps the food clean & isn’t too big
I went through many other options in trying to find feeders for this cage/bird. She would flip over her metal bowls that were hung from the sides. If we put them directly on the floor, of course she pooped in them and got seeds in the water. These are great. They can’t be flipped over or ripped from the side of the cage, and they’re covered to keep the food & water clean. This is the small size, which is just right for 1 parakeet and a small cage like ours.

MOLD hazard due to faulty design!!
Love that this keeps my bird from pooping in her water bowl, but there are some hazardous design flaws I wish they would fix. The clear top part is POORLY glued into little slits on the green bottom part. This means no matter how clean I keep it, and even if I pour her water low enough so that the water doesn’t touch the edges, it still always ends up growing black spores in between the cracks that can’t be removed or cleaned. Super scary to have your birds around that… are they not afraid of someone suing them one day?I wish they would stop gluing it down to the base, maybe make it twist in place instead, like how we twist the actual water bowl into the cage. It makes it physically impossible to remove and clean. I’m pretty sure they probably do it on purpose so we keep re-buying this, I mean it’s what I end up having to do every year anyway since I haven’t found a similar design to this.I read another comment of someone saying they used aquarium silicone glue to make sure water doesn’t get on the edges, but I don’t know how safe that is to be around birds. It’s safe for fish so it’s probably fine.. I just worry about it so I will do some research beforehand. If they ever read this, I hope JW makes an updated version of these water bowls, I am willing to pay extra for it to not eventually build up mold in between cracks that we can’t even reach to clean.

Make Sure You Add a Perch For a Cockatiel
The feeder does a great job at keeping a mess at bay. I’m using them for water and seed for my cockatiel, which is a dusty, messy bird and the feeders have nearly gotten rid of the seed mess and kept her water nice and clean! My main complaint is that these seem to be advertised for cockatiels, but there’s no way a cockatiel would be able to get to the feeders without a perch. The top domes are big and slippery and not conducive to a cockatiel trying to climb to them from the cage bars. The bird is too tall to perch on the edge of the cup. As long as you make sure to provide a perch so the bird can access the cups , then you should be good. The cups spin out easily for refill– although its also hard to get seed into them– you’ll need a small scoop so you don’t make a mess simply refilling the cup. As long as you don’t mind providing a scoop and perch , I’d say these are a good purchase. All in all- they do their job– they keep the mess at bay!

Very well made and affordable!!
This is a well-made cup that attaches to the side of a wire cage. The cup and bracket are made of a thick plastic. The clear top of the cup is not removable. I purchased all three sizes of these cups: small, medium, and large (I have shown the cups next to a can in the pictures, so you can see the approximate size of each cup). I have a medium-sized parrot and some tiny Serama chickens, so the medium and large sized cups are the best for my purposes. I personally would prefer if the small size cup didn’t have the circular perch attached to it, or if the perch were removable (it is not). The bracket that attaches the cup to the side of the cage works very well and holds it secure (while also being easy to remove). These cups are a little bit deep, and I would prefer if they were shallower (the birds eat the food on the top, drop food back into the cup, and rarely get down to the food on the bottom). There is less waste with these cups than with the open-top cups. I recommend these cage cups, as they are well-made and very affordable! Please mark if you find my review helpful. Thank you so much!

Go-to feeder and waterer!
First off, I have a budgerigar (traditional thing you think of when you hear “parakeet”) and a mustached parakeet (type of ringneck; medium sized bird that’s around the size of most conures)I bought four of these on impulse, tired of seeds getting everywhere and poop getting into water. Most bird owners will understand this. It didn’t help that my mustached enjoys stuffing things into the water bottles I have bought for him.I was a bit worried that my budgie wouldn’t take to these, since she isn’t tame and hates new things, but she seems to enjoy them quite a bit. I put a perch near each of them to help her reach what’s inside more easily. I can’t say she was the one I was worried about, but I still see the benefits of less trash out of the cage and the water dish being cleaner. My mustached, on the other hand, has had much improvement. The plastic protects the water from everything he does to try to make it dirtier from above, while the dish is still easy to clean from everything he deliberately drops into the water for the fun. Furthermore, he can no longer throw food out with a single gesture for the fun of it. He likes sitting on top and leaning over to eat upside down. These can be a bit confusing at the beginning, but get super simple once you get the hang of them. Easy to clean and use. Protect your water and food.Mine came in a pretty light blue and neon green. I was happy; no regrets! Every bird lover needs these.(Also, my mustached is a medium sized bird and has no issue fitting).

good size for medium cup, sturdy, easy to clean
I like these very much but was a bit surprised at the size as they are for medium birds like Indian Ringnecks. I guess I’ve been used to small feed and water cups because these are a decent size with plenty of head clearance on the hood for when my Indian Ringnecks eat.I didn’t like that the stainless steel feed and water cups would occasionally get pooped in. That’s the reason way I bought feed and water cups with clean plastic hoods. I also wanted to put the feed & water cups anywhere in the cage I wanted rather than only where the supplied with the cage stainless steel holders required. That means I can arrange the cage interior to maximize interior space for (very) short flight and exercise for the bird.I don’t know that the feeders will hold up for long should the birds decide they want to chew them. So far other plastic items in their cage don’t get chewed so I’m hopeful. Also one of the feeders was missing the yellow plastic washer and yellow plastic nut that clamps the feeder to the cage bars. I’ve written to company I bought them from for a replacement.

Small cup for Budiges
My birds liked these cups instantly. I use them for water. I like the small size. They fit securely in the cage and don’t wobble. The only con is that water can collect in the seam where the clear plastic meets the colored and eventually discolor as stuff grows in that area. I don’t fill the water all the way to that line. I’ve had my birds for 7 years and replaced the cups last year.

Good feeder
Buddy loved making a mess with his food all over the cage. This solved the problem! Majority of the seeds remain in the feeder. No more uneaten seeds on the bottom of the cage. One issue is the clip to the cage is plastic screw and is not sturdy on the cage. Need to check weekly it stays on tight. Also because it’s not sturdy we are unable to lock the feeder into the bracket. Not a major issue as we just drop the feeder into the bracket and it has not fallen out.

Well made!
This cup is very durable and I have three parakeets that like to chew. It is easy to get in and out of the cage. I used it for a feed cup, but I suspect it would be great for a water cup also. I would have given it a five, but one of my parakeet just throws it out of the cup, when he eats. I still would recommend it.

Glue buildup on cup. Difficult to clean
There is glue holding the clear cup to the blue base that clips to the part of the cage attachment. Because it is glued, you cannot untwist to clean easily. You need small fingers or a small angled brush. I’m concerned the glue is toxic and that it will eventually peel off or disintegrate into my pets water or food.

Great design but not durable
I was super excited about this feeder because of the design. It looked promising, but it failed me in one way. The plastic knob and bolt is very delicate and weak. I installed this primarily to use as a water cup since my bird poops into everything without a lid. This cup has a lid which offers protection and it does its job very well. During my time with this cup, not a single drop of poop fell into the water. Replacing the water was easy. You just twist the cup from the base and lift it up. Everything worked fine until today when I replaced the water. I was putting the cup back and put a minute amount of pressure on it and SNAP! The yellow plastic bolt cracked and now this is useless. This issue would be instantly solved if they used a metal bolt and not a plastic one. This thing only lasted two and a half weeks. I was being really gentle with this as well. I really loved the design, but they need to replace the plastic screw with a metal one. Will I buy this again? probably not. If you treat this like a wine glass, I’m sure it will last you more than it did me. Actually in order to prevent it from happening to you I suggest you use two hands. One to support the plastic base and another to twist the cup.

I would buy again
It works better than expected. There is still some seed shells on the floor but not much at all really. I have two parakeets so I bought one for each as they like to eat at the same time. They don’t mind the change at all. The first few times I unscrewed it from the cage to dump out seed shells and refill. At the point I didn’t like that. But then looking closer I realized it comes out of the holder by just a simple twist. If it all was a harder plastic I would rate 5. Over all for parakeets I think it will last a bit. Hard to beat for a few bucks as it does reduce the seeds/shells on the floor. I recommend to at least try this before spending a fortune.
