Mancala Wooden Folding Set by Pressman, Ages 6 and Up, 2 Players
Mancala is one of the world’s oldest and best-loved games. Players take turns scooping up the special stones and counting them out one at a time into the pockets on the board. Mancala sounds like a simple marble game, but it’s got plenty of strategy and reinforces STEM skills like counting and strategic planning.
Great for home and travel
The folding wooden board easily stores all pieces in a convenient compact size, making this a great choice for home or travel.

Disappointed
The product is good but very small for an adult hand. The kids struggle to keep the marbles in the little openings

We love this game so we gave this a go. A bit small but easy to use and love to play! Only downside for us we got a couple broken marbles.

Cheap, flimsy feeling
The board is cheap and flimsy feeling. Would prefer if it had an actual metal hinge instead of the wooden ones. The wells are small and barely fit the pieces.

Good, but could be better
Cute little set, however the board doesn’t open up flat which is a bit of a pain. The other thing is that the wells are a bit small. Otherwise, my students enjoyed playing with it.

Holes are too small
We love playing mancala and this board does get the job done. However the marbles are constantly spilling out of them even with 5 marbles. Wish they made the holes bigger otherwise would be perfect.

Great mancala board, but kind of small
Nice little compact mancala board but it’s pretty small. The marbles don’t fit well into the spaces because they are so small.

Great little game
Great little game for 2! Only taking 1 star away as there isn’t a great way to store the marbles with the game board once the box is inevitably lost or damaged. A way to secure the board in place once its closed with the marbles inside would be perfect.

Wells are too small.
We love the game but the wells that the stones go in are way too small. Every game, we have stones slipping and sliding out of their wells because they can’t hold more than about 7 stones comfortably. I probably would have gone with another game board had I known this.

Mancala is good logical thinking game for kids. Quality of product is good but pockets to scoop are small for teen.

On the smaller side
Works as intended, but the holes are a little small so stoned fall out. It does not latch closed and the stones usually prevent it from folding all the way over when packing it up

Inexpensive set to gift to a kid
Love the game!! One marble is a shrimp and damaged, it’s basically a half-marble. I found that the wells aren’t deep enough, but honestly…for the price, this is a great buy.

Fun game but wells are too shallow
I’m Filipino and we played a game similar to this called sungka when I was a kid, so I was excited to see this and bought it immediately. My daughter and niece had a lot of fun learning how to play this game. I took off 1 star because the wells are too shallow to hold more than 6 stones so once they start filling up as the game goes on, the stones start spilling out and you have to keep scooping them back into the well to try and keep them all in. It becomes annoying after a while. Thinking of returning this and getting one that has deeper wells that can hold more stones. The product itself is of excellent quality and the set I received came with multi -colored glass stones.

Nope
Love this game and purchased this to play with my kids. However the pockets are not deep enough and after a couple rounds the rocks were overflowing onto the table. Also the hinges on this did not lay completely flat. I will be returning this.

Pretty good, just don’t lose the bag!
I used this for my 2nd and 3rd graders to play with in the classroom, during breaks. I was impressed with how easily they learned the game, and how they were even strategizing how to win against their opponent! This game is pretty easy to learn for ages 6-7 and older. There are 2 main versions of the game that you can play: original and avalanche style – check out Youtube Tutorials! The only thing I would recommend is that the mancala beads can be easily lost, so either hold onto the plastic bag they come in, or a back-up to keep them in. The great thing about mancala, though, is that anything goes for game pieces as long as they total to 48, so when we lost a bunch of the original beads, we replaced them with kids’ jewelry beads, and it worked well!

Beautiful, simple, classic game
So confession: I bought this to give as a present to someone but ended up keeping it for myself! 🤣 🤫This is not only a game for me but a decor piece in my living room. Beautiful stones and love that it’s wood! Classic, simple game for all ages.👉 The only thing is that the wood is not fully flat so it’s a little wobbly. Might be just mine though 🤷♀️ I’d also love if the pockets were a tad bigger. But you can’t beat the price! Many memories with my Grandpa playing this game- glad to have a board in my place and thankful it didn’t cost a fortune! 💫

Love Mancala – classic
This game is such a classic. So fun and easy to teach and play against your young children. It helps pass the time, or great for game night! The rules are different than I remember, then again I don’t remember ever reading rules when I was younger. I just remember playing how I was taught. I taught my son to play my way, which is still fun and still classic. Our next time playing, we will try it with the rules it came with and see which one we like better. VERY FUN! GREAT PRICE!

Classic game, shallow pockets
This game is pure nostalgia for me and I enjoy playing with my daughter. My only complaint with this set is that the holes are too shallow for the size of the stones. It works, but they definitely get full quickly.

Super slippy pockets
I love this game but the pockets are super slippy. I’ve played on other boards and haven’t had this issue. I also think the pockets aren’t deep enough. The marbles will often fall out or slip into others when you move them, so its easy to cheat or miscount.

BUY!
The Pressman Mancala is a high-quality board game that provides hours of fun for both children and adults. The board and beads are well-crafted and durable, and the instructions are easy to follow. The game itself is simple to learn but offers a lot of strategy and depth. It can be played in short bursts or for longer periods, and it’s great for 2 players. I normally play with my husband, but the game is also a good way to learn about counting, strategy and critical thinking for younger children. Overall, the game is a great choice for anyone looking for a fun and challenging board game that can be enjoyed by the whole family or even over a glass of wine for a date night.

Great deal for an all ages game.
Edited 4/25/2020. Dropped a star. Had this game for a while and wanted give an update. It is problematic that all of the wells are too small for more than 8 stones. They start sliding around and falling into other wells which makes accuracy tricky because it’s always an accident. My kids love this game though and the strategy is great for so many ages. I personally love it I just wish it had a latch and larger wells and a latch.Awesome game! Kids 6 and 8 learned quickly. Came as pictures with glass beads just like the package says. Great wooden foldable board but could really use a latch to hold it closed or the box should be 1/8th inch tighter to hold it closed. We use a rubber band. Very giftable for kids or adult birthdays. Wish we bought it sooner!

Fun game for kids
The Big Plus- this is a fun game for kids. The minus side is- The board’s vessel are too small and the stones provided are bigger for the wells. You have 6 stones in the wells and the stones spills out. I replaced the stones that came with the board with smaller stones that I bought from Michael’s. I find that it’s hard to scoop out the stones from the wells. Wish the wells are wider and deeper to accommodate. There is a mandala that is imported from the Philippines and sold at Amazon. A little pricey, but that is an ideal board game. The wells are bigger and deeper. It comes with 7 wells.

Simple and fun
Grew up playing this game, so I finally got it and now I’m teaching my 6 year old and they love it! The only complaint I have is really minor, just that the pieces holding the two sides together can come out and almost got lost a couple times. As long as we’re careful with it and don’t leave it out for the 3 year old to get to, it should be fine.

Poor craftmanship
Doesn’t open up flat, wooden “hinges” are very loose. Unfortunately doesn’t feel like it’ll last long. We love the game but it’s a flimsy board compared to what I’ve had in the past.

This is a cheap set and it feels cheap. Works well, though. The hinge is annoying, though. I wish. and paid a bit more for a better made set. Not bad value for what it costs, but it is cheap

Pockets need to be deeper.
The pockets over flow after 5 gems in them. They need to be deeper. Also wish you could store the gems in the the game. The game isn’t wide enough for this. This game is good for ages 5 and up. It’s a good relaxing game for adults and kids. We use this as a transition game when we are waiting for all the kids to be ready. It’s easy to clean up. I like that it folds and can be put in its case.

Nice starter set, but small pockets
This set was nice (especially for the $8 price I paid), but I ultimately decided to return it. It was frustrating trying to play on the board because the pockets are on the smaller side. When there were many stones in one pocket, they often overflowed and it became an annoying two-handed operation to carefully grab them out. I like deeper pockets that you can scoop stones out of with one hand (for faster, smoother play).I imagine that kids or players with smaller hands might have an easier time with this board. This set did come with pretty glass stones and in an attractive box. It would be a nice starter set but for adults who will be playing mancala often, I think it’s worth paying a little more for a larger and higher-quality set. I just ordered a bigger $30 mancala board from Amazon and am looking forward to ‘upgrading’.I gave four stars because Amazon simply refunded me for this set without requiring me to return it. It was a pleasant surprise. Thank you!

Legit seller✨
It’s exactly as I remembered it being as a kid. Fine quality in the sanding of the wood, and the package would be considered parent friendly as it doesn’t contain a bunch of different paper instructions (just a single folded sheet) and the glass pebbles are kept in a ziploc bag for storage instead of them being loosely tossed into the box.The board is double hinged so it can open and close smoothly and despite the wooden pegs being snuggly placed into their holes there isn’t any harsh squeaking from the hinges upon use.Very excited to show my friends and play a nice game of mancala possibly.✨✨✨
