Microphone is just too sensitive and the volume output too weak
The Pyle PA Speaker with Wireless Microphone is a nice handy small lightweight unit but the two problems with the unit are the following: 1) The microphone is VERY sensitive and needs to be placed in contact with your chin just below your lower lip in order for the microphone to be amplified through the speaker. That’s a problem if you are not channelling your inner Bob Barker (Price is Right) by keeping it in contact with your mouth–not a good design. 2) The Speaker Unit which has a maximum volume output of 38 on the digital display is just not powerful enough to fill a church hall with amplification. The entire unit is just not powerful enough in spite of the 800 Watt advertised feature. It would be overkill in say a conference room or classroom but who need that in a small setting??

Very easy set up. Sounds great with good bass response from just an 8 inch woofer. Perfect for small room gatherings. I would prefer a omnidirectional mic than directional, but the mic is functional and will get the job done in a pinch.

For the price you get some incredible features! A wireless mic, Bluetooth, rechargeable lithium battery and 1/4″ mic cable support! Plus it records to micro SD as well as reads from usb, all with a handy remote control as well! I would like to hear more bass so next time I’ll likely opt for a 10 or 12 inch model but beyond that, everything else is great! Actually, no… When you turn the unit on the voice that says “power on” is at the absolute maximum volume even when the volume knobs are turned entirely down. That’s unacceptable…

Music is loud and clear. Voice is a little off.
It’s good for playing music although the bass is a little weak. Music is loud enough to cover 100 feet radius. But voice is a little distorted especially speaking with a music background. I like the rechargeable battery. I can put it anywhere without the limitation of power supply. Battery can last at least 1.5 hours with full charge. Bluetooth range is not bad. It’s around 30 feet. The speaker is considered light weight. It’s good and handy to come with a mic. If you have more budget, I suggest to buy 1200 watts for better sound quality I guess.

100% great for Little League announcing
I had bought a Bluetooth speaker for announcing outdoor little League games… They just didn’t cut it. This was it. Portable – light weight – long battery – solid sound – Bluetooth – comes with a mix and mic works while other functions are working. Very reasonable price. For $65ish, this is $5 a game for the kids, just for one season. I’m going to use this for church, kids activities, the summer block party, etc.

800w loud enough for me
First I do have to say the shipping was very fast! I also must say when I saw the box package it was small so I really thought the speaker was small! Even though it’s small it’s loud enough for a small party and it is nice to be able to carry around. Although when you put the volume all the way up it tends to distort the voice.I like to listen to loud music when cooking or cleaning so this speaker works great for me! Cool thing it has input and outputs!

The firmware needs improvement
I bought this speaker to be use at a church function, as sound system for the speaker and to play music. Most features of the system is great except for the firmware. Also the remote control stop working after a day.When power is turned on there is a small LED display that shows or indicate what the system is doing like checking for connections or playing a song. There are also buttons to operate as in “Play/Pause”, “Repeat”, “Forward” and “Rewind”. The BIG PROBLEM is there is a audio/voice that also sound off what with the display. When you turn on the power button and the system initializes you will hear a sound that say something like “Connecting to Bluetooth” or when you are playing a song and press the repeat button the song will pause and a sound will say “Repeat Song”. When you press the forward button to play the next track a sound will say ” Next Song”. It is embarrassing to your audience when you are in the middle of a song and you happen to press any of the button without lowering the volume. Not only the music will pause but it also sounded off the button’s function. The manufacturer need to remove the audible since the display shows what the function is. If they improve the firmware and the remote control I may buy the upgraded version.

Good Price Point for a Home Karaoke Speaker
For a reasonable price, this speaker can be used for a home karaoke set up. I liked that it was light weight and portable, without taking up a lot of space. In addition, it has 1/4″ mic line in as well as a 3.5mm audio auxillary line in. With these inputs, I was able to plug in another mic system into the speaker and play songs from my TV, while also using the included wireless mic. In no time at all, I was doing my Elvis Presley impersonation from my couch and singing along with my kids. Effectively, in addition to serving as a speaker, it functioned as a mixer, transmitter/receiver (with the included wireless mic), karaoke machine, and home entertainment station all in one. I was satisfied with the range and sound from the included wireless mic. Alternatively, you can play music from your phone or other device using the bluetooth connection. If you are looking for a no frills functional home karaoke set up at a reasonable cost, I would recommend this speaker.

PSBT85A Party Speaker Meets My Needs
Received the Pyle PSBT85A Bluetooth Party Speaker from Amazon on 11/11/2019. Tested it for a little over an hour and came to these conclusions:1. It meets my needs.2. It is loud.3. Tested it with Bluetooth source, its own (included) wireless microphone, microSD card, and Line In – all worked perfectly. (The microphone has a separate volume control, apparently independent of the volume control for the other sources, i.e., you can hear yourself while you sing along on the microphone with ANY of the other sources.)4. Does it create subterranean, floor-thumping, wall-shaking low bass tones, e.g., a 30 Hz organ pedal for instance? No. But that is not what it was designed for, and not what I bought it for.5. I purchased this unit for my grandkids to have a good (it’s probably TOO loud, but we’ll see!) Karaoke system to use at Christmas. IT SEEMS TO BE PERFECT FOR THAT USAGE.6. In the particular box Pyle shipped my unit in, there was a “REGISTER YOUR PRODUCT AND CLAIM A FREE GIFT” card. I registered my unit with them online, but have yet to hear anything about the FREE GIFT. Maybe they’re just slow and will eventually get around to it.7. Performance – 4 stars. Zero issues. Would I like a more robust, more solid, heavier, bigger, with more bass, unit? Sure, but I would have needed to pay $250 for something like that. In the sub-$100 price range, the Pyle PSBT85A is an excellent choice.

Great product… so far.
I have not had enough time to test out the battery life, but the sound quality is amazing. Its very liud and clear. When I had it lower in volume there isnt much bass but when you turn it up it sounds great. I still need to test it with my drumset to see if it’s loud enough. But listening to it on full volume it don’t doubt it is. Usually I have trouble hearing the music on speakers when playing but this surley won’t be an issue

Good assembly use speaker
Speaker works well and is loud enough for a school-cafeteria size meeting. Used it to stream audio off laptop via bluetooth, worked well with easy setup. Has additional features like USB playback and general PA use with included microphone.

Surprisingly good sound quality. Pairs easily with Bluetooth devices. Definitely powerful enough volume for large rooms, outdoors etc. Does not distort at full volume like others we’ve had do. As other reviews noted the wireless mic is junk but we knew that going in and purchased a Shure SM48-LC and XLR female to 1/4″ plug. Upon opening box, discovered that if you register your product they will send you a Pyle dynamic mic and XLR cord which from experience isn’t a bad mic for general use so that was a bonus. Remote seems cheap but it works well. Not too much documentation on remote or functions included but you can find more detailed info online. Another feature not found until we had it was that you can record whatever you are doing to a USB Flash drive or SD card so another cool feature. Be sure to read the tips on battery charging and battery life! They are not what you would think and not being aware you may actually shorten their lifespan. Note, you can get replacement battery if need be but they are internal and require opening up the unit to replace along with some technical knowledge so following their advice is recommended. Overall very pleased. Good quality and features for the price for sure.

Nice unit for the price
I purchased this Pyle unit to use strictly for my vocal rehearsals at home. It arrived quickly and set up was fairly straightforward. For my purposes, it will work just fine. I was also able to connect my wired Sennheiser microphone for an improved sound over the wireless mic that came with the unit. So far, I am pleased with my purchase.

Great for what I need
Used it once so far but it’s more than what I need for our outside family movies ! I purchased this speaker for a New year’s eve karaoke family dinner. It was an absolute hit! Sound quality is loud and clear, connected easily to my phones bluetooth. The quality is crystal clear.
Pros: The sound is great and easy hook up from any Bluetooth device. It is great to use outside for get-togethers. There are two cons. One is the remote. You have to point it at the front of the speaker. Does not control the speaker otherwise. The other is the announcement that the speaker is on and Bluetooth is connected. It is really loud and scares the grandchildren when I first turn it on. Would still recommend!

Great little budget speaker
Really impressed with this little speaker. The sound quality is really good, and it gets VERY loud. Will definitely be suitable for amplifying our outdoor wedding ceremony for about 120 people. Other reviews mentioned that the music volume is automatically reduced when both playing music and speaking or singing into the mic. That is does not seem to be the case for the model we received, so this seems great for karaoke. The included mic works but has a very small range.

Great value! Good little PA for public speaking.
I used this for speaking at small rallies 200-300 people. The sound was clear on the videos that friends shared. The full speaker charge lasted for more than 4 hours! It still had life when we got home. Now- that microphone- really cheap piece of plastic- a tiny piece arrived already broken off in protective plastic. The microphone is a AAbattery eater. Make sure you have spares. I am disappointed that my old wired microphone didn’t work with it or that I can’t seem to find a compatible extra Pyle microphone for sale. . I’d love to buy a spare. I do not use this for music – just for public speaking. It’s really perfect for that.

Just what I was looking for.
I purchased this to use as an outdoor PA system on an intermittant basis. For vocal use, sound is clear, and the included microphone works reasonably well.During my use, I noticed a few items that I wished were different, but they are nitpicking at best.1. Wished the speaker had a handle on top. It has molded handles on both sides, which work quite well, but picking it up to carry from a side handle is akward.2. Included mic has an exposed power switch. By that, I mean it is prone to being accidently turned on when you drop it in you bag. Of course you will only realize that when you try to use the mic again, and it doesn’t work.2a. Second part of mic complaint is that there is no way to attach the microphone to the speaker assembly. Since the mic comes with it, and is integral to it’s operation, it seems like Pyle could engineer a solution. As it is, it directly contributes to item (2.) being an issue.I like that there are multiple inputs that can be used, and the speaker’s rechargeable battery has been more than sufficient. I would definately buy it again, and have recommended it to others.

Very Versatile
The price, the lithium ion battery instead of lead acid like some other rechargeable speakers, and the good reviews, persuaded me to buy this Pyle-PSBT85A portable 8” bluetooth PA speaker. (Purchased New)It arrived just in time to use with my little 10” rechargeable TV after my regular TV quit working. The tiny speaker on the 10” TV sounds kinda harsh, but the ‘line in’ feature on the Pyle speaker made it easy to plug into the ‘line out’ on my 10” TV, giving me a much better listening experience while using the 10” rechargeable TV till I could get a regular TV again.This Pyle speaker also easily connected to my mini mac through bluetooth for listening to music through iTunes. I also have a set of Altec 2.1 powered desktop speakers that’s missing the subwoofer, but with a 3.5mm (1/8”) TRS cable I am able to plug this Pyle speaker into the subwoofer port on one of the Altec speakers, and it works great especially having the iTunes EQ to tailor the sound.At the price I paid ($79) I can’t really expect it, but a built in EQ on this Pyle speaker would make it an even better powered speaker with greater ‘stand alone’ sound tailoring. When I plugged it into my Pyle 4 channel Pro Mixer, Its EQ made the speaker sound like a more expensive speaker, it brought out more of its capabilities.I did a lot of searching before I decided to go with the Pyle PSBT85A 8” speaker (I couldn’t afford their 10” or 12” speaker), and I’m very happy with it. It’s very versatile, portable, and can be stand mounted or placed on its side as a floor monitor for small gigs.The wireless microphone works, but I also plugged my Shure mic into the 1/4” Mic port and it works well through the Pyle speaker.I’m a singer songwriter musician on a very small budget, and I’m glad I purchased this Pyle speaker, it’s been very handy.

Will attempt to link with any open bluetooth program while you are using another
The product arrived quickly, and all of the items were accounted for. The volume is surprisingly loud for the small item. It quickly linked to the bluetooth on my cell phone, but the music was choppy, because I had another bluetooth enabled item nearby and the speaker kept trying to connect with also. I shut off all bluetooth enabled items except the phone and it play perfectly.The volume control is touchy. About midway of the control position, it suddenly blasts in volume. I have learned to not set it past midway and control any increase from my phone of MP3 player.I will be using it publicly for the first time this Sunday. After playing with it for a while I am hoping it can deliver the sound level and quality I need for my vocals at a small church. All in all, I believe that it was a good value and purchase for what I will be using it for,

The speaker on this item works well with strong battery life. The microphone leaves much to be desired. The first one arrived damaged, the replacement arrived in working condition but has a LOT of interference. Maybe better with a wired mic if that’s what you need.

Great product for the price!
I purchased this for an event to make it easier for everyone to hear me. It worked great and had decent volume! It would be nice if I could more easily adjust the EQ instead of just being limited to presets. Aside from that, it did get the job done and sounded pretty good for the price. The wireless microphone works fine, but I decided to get a wired one as back up. Pro tip, if you register your purchase with Pyle they send you a free wired mic if you want to avoid the possibility of wireless interference.

Nice Big Sound, Rechargable, Compact.. How to silence announcer
Beware- Loud Voice announcer says “POWER ON” every time you turn it on,see picture… Press and hold the bluetooth button to turn off announcer voiceThat said, the sound and performance is amazing, for “under a hundred bucks” this unit is great.plenty of “nice bass” and crisp “presence” . . . it’s not really deep bass, but hey it’s a battery powered portable.seems to charge well and run a long time, remote and mic are well made for this price range, durability seems good.I used it at a gathering by a river… with a battery music instrument, and it kicked and barked well, everyone liked it, sandy rocky noisy environment. Just remember to turn the volume off during power on or mode change!

Not 800 Watts but no problem
Let me go ahead and get this out of the wayIt’s not 800 watts (wasn’t expecting it) so that’s an automatic loss of a star (as a former DJ that has had a few amps with similar wattage, this speaker is NOT 800 watts)Once you get that out of the way, you are getting a solid speaker with a mic that most will be satisfied with. The remote is eh so I doubt I use it much. A nice loud sound with a functioning (but not great) mic that can easily rock a backyard party or small meeting room.It doesn’t have deep enough bass for my liking so I will probably upgrade to a better subwoofer but I think most who buy this with realistic expectations will be satisfied with it

If you enjoy puzzles, this is for you.
I could not get the microphone to communicate with the speaker, even though both were clearly charged and turned on.The “instructions” were useless. Some sample instructions are:1) Read these instructions,2) Heed all warnings,3) Follow all instructions,4) Do not use near water.10) Protect power cord from being walked on.13) Unplug during lightning storms.15) do not expose to rain.16) Apparatus should not be exposed to dripping.I called product support. So far, they have been useless.They were mainly interested in getting my personal information: name, phone number, and email.They exhibited no familiarity with the product.They promised to send more detailed instructions by email.Have received nothing as yet.
