Strong pump, but clogs quickly
I like that you can adjust the flow. It is a strong pump. I have to shut it almost completely to keep it from blowing the top off of my out-of-pond filter. The problem is, it clogs within a couple of days. Probably because I put it on the bottom of the pond where most of the debris are. The selection of adapters that came with it are great! You can use just about any standard hose size. The pump I replaced was also too strong for my filter. I had to put a home-made diverter in and divert about 50% of the flow. That was clumsy. This is a much better option, with the adjustable flow. I just wish you didn’t need so much pre-filtering to keep the pump from clogging up. It’s not very effective at getting the pond debris into the filter where the filter can break it down.

Working great as IN-LINE / OUT OF THE WATER pump!!!
Great pump! Only been running 2 months now but working great. And don’t let ignorant people tell you it can not be placed in-line / outside the water because that is where mine is and it works great. You just have to get it primed and be sure to not set it too much above the water line. I had to dig the ground out just a little to lower the location of the pump (placed it right beside the back of the pond) before i could get it to prime, but once primed works great! Again this is NOT IN THE WATER, and pumps a whole lot of water! I actually had to get a tee to split the water up because the water going to my small top pond that overflows back into my bottom large pond was receiving too much water too fast and over flowing because this pump is so powerful! So i used the tee and sent half the water back into the bottom and other half to the top.Anyway, how can you go wrong with this pump when you can also get a 4 yr warranty for a few bucks more!?

The pre-filter is a bigger pain than I thought it would be
So far, so good. It isn’t as powerful as the one it is replacing but it was meant for running water through a pressure filter. I have a larger pump that powers the waterfall. The only real drawback is the pre-filter, simply because I need to clean it often, which means pulling the pump completely out of the water. I thought it would collect larger debris but it is picking up every tiny particle of sludge in the pond (which is considerable because I’ve discovered that the “sludge remover” is also removing the dirt from my pots!). Additionally, I have it in a bag that is keeping the larger stuff out. If it were being used alone, the pre-filter would be great. I’m considering getting a box filter for it and reworking the intake so I can put a hose on it and eliminate the pre-filter completely. And trying to do it so it doesn’t violate the warranty since I bought the additional one.

works well
Works really well. I have an outdoor fish pond with about 200 gallons of water. Using 1″ hose, emptied it in less than 5 minutes. I think next time I’ll use the 3/4″ setting so I have more time to put the water on my plants. Just wish I could have ordered the hose at the same time.

Does NOT have fittings for 1/2″ Irrigation tubing…Hard to find the adapters.
In all fairness, this looks to be a very strong and well-built pump. It’s heavy and certainly won’t float or stay unstable on the bottom of a pond or hydro setup. While this pump does come with several fittings, not any would fit a 1/2″ irrigation hose which most people would use in a garden and even small pond setup. I have no doubt that it is for a little larger setup but some of us have long stretches of 1/2″ hose because the bigger sizes are not readily or easily available. Lowes, Home Depot, Menards – all, do not carry the fittings that would adapt to this pump. So you’ll have to special order something and that gets a little ridiculous when considering the extra cost of a part and then the even more ridiculous cost of shipping…all just to make this pump work with the very common 1/2″ irrigation hose. Also, most companies would at least include some type of directions, website, information guide, spare parts detail, etc., but this one does not have anything like that in the box. Just seems that someone didn’t think this product through very well. I sent mine back and bought another pump of the same size which included the adaptor I needed. Not thinking through what many customers might actually need, produced the loss of a sale.

Check the Wattage Before Buying a Pond Pump!
This pump delivers 1056 gallons per hour and draws 276 watts.A Pondmaster 18 moves 1800 gallons and draws 145 wattsA Pondmaster 12 moves 1200 gallons and draws 110 watts. So… more than twice the energy use of a Pondmaster 12 with slightly less output. Although this pump seems well made and solid, for some reason, it’s much less efficient. For my pond, I use a daily timer and shut it down during winter and estimate usage of 12 hrs per day for 8 months per year. And at 11 cents a KWH (which is Pacific NW and cheaper than most anywhere else), this pump is more expensive to operate by more than $50 a year. In less than 2 yrs, a more efficient pump will offset the extra cost, even with my cheap electricity. If you’re in California, the breakeven is likely about a year.If you’re going to operate a pond pump somewhat continuously, check the wattage and outputs and do the arithmetic!

Nice flow for a small fountain
I’m using this for a small fountain in a mini-pond outside my window. I attached it to a Tetra filter, so I had to remove the built-in filter and lost the ability to regulate the flow. Fortunately, at full power it is just about perfect for my needs. I started with a big flat piece of sandstone and drilled a hole through it. Then I found a geode with a hole going most of the way through it, and banged on it till the hole broke through. I used a garden hose from the pump to the sandstone and let the water shoot around and through the geode. You can see the results. As for the pump itself, it comes with lots of connectors, as did the filter. I still ended up having to jerry-rig one of the connections. I run it on a timer about 8 hours a day, and it has been going for about 6 months.

Model LGP 1056G
I purchased this pump 4 yrs ago. It bit the dust…so when looking for a replacement bought another one in July 2022. The first one, I do not recall it coming with a foam intake screen, the 2nd one did. Yesterday, I noticed it was not flowing as strong. Took it apart the check and clean, keep in mind this is after only 3 weeks. As I started to remove the intake screen a couple of pieces just fell off. Rinsed off remaining part and put back on after checking/cleaning the rest. The intake screen was partially sucked into flow control valve as I have set it to max. It still did not function as when I first got it. I removed screen and it is going like it should. I put inside a net pump back to help keep trash (leaves etc) out I have sent email to company asking about replacement parts, intake screen needed now and impeller for future use, was thinking about replacing the one in the old pump as well. Was shocked when I called and was told they do not sell replacement parts. I was asked to email and show proof of purchase, and now waiting for customer service to respond. Should respond within 24 hrs. We shall see. BTW. I did suggest redesign of intake so it cannot suck screen into intake valve. Love that is has a 16′ cord, that was very important to me as well. The cleaning instruction images and description is not real helpful.Hope to get this resolved quickly.

So far, this pump is doing a great job in my service.
So far I’m really happy with this pump. I am using this pump in my 1500 gallon pond for recirculation of pond water though my filter/UV algae killer. This is not used as a waterfall pump in my pond. I use a 5000GPH pump for that. Here’s some finer details:- The pump seems to be very well built. It is very heavy compared to the failed one it is replacing. This leads me to believe that there is far more copper windings and heavier magnets inside the unit.- It is listed at 1056GPH. I have no way of measuring this volume, so I cannot verify the flow rates. It does put out a good volume of water, so I’m happy with it, although I have a sneaking suspicion that it doesn’t actually hit north of 1000GPH. Maybe though. (I have essentially 0 vertical head that this is pushing, as you increase vertical push [head] on a pump, flow rate decreases significantly) I am happy nonetheless. NOTE, the manufacturer states this pump has a max lift of 12 inches. They mean feet. It will lift over 12 inches.- This pump is sealed and UL listed so I don’t have to worry about shocking and killing all of my fish. It is also an oil-free pump, again, protecting my fish.- The longer cord allows me to get the pump out into the middle of the pond where it is deeper to get more dirt into the filter.- This setup came with 3 different size male nipples to attach different size discharge hoses, depending on what you have. It DOES NOT come with any discharge hose. You can get this at any big box hardware store such as Lowes or Home Depot. They list the sizes as 0.83, 1.06, and 1.34 inches. I am guessing that these fit a 3/4″, 1″, and 1.25″ hose. My 1″ hose fits the middle nipple just fine.Time will tell on the longevity of the unit. I will try to remember to get back to this review and update it if/when the pump fails. I run mine for 8 months per year 24×7, so I am pretty happy when I get a pump to last more than 2 years of service in my cruddy pond. Time will tell…I hope I have helped your purchasing decision of this product. Was good for about 5 weeks
Had this running a small waterfall in a 40 gallon koi pond and it was fine at first but after about 5 weeks started losing power and running very loud buzzing like it’s on its way out so I took the impeller out and cleaned the lines and pump when I looked at the shaft it had a few rust spots I cleaned up as best as I could but the shaft also had spots where it was worn down and when I reconnected it the thing was still buzzing loudly and I no longer trust it so I went and bought a Sicce pump . Maybe you will have better luck than me but I would not recommend this product .

Replaced an older pump no longer available. This pump was perfect for my small pond. Was easy to adapt to my home built filter, added on my old spray nozzle and powered up. The extra long cord is what really attracted me to this pump for I needed the 15 feet.

updated – GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE – nice pump
I bought this pump kinda as a back up to my main pond pump. I don’t like leaving my large, 3,500 GPM waterfall pump running when we go on vacation. I also don’t want to totally shut down the filtration so I bought this smaller pump – thinking I could swap them out before we leave town. Unfortunately, the new smaller pump did not fit because I had to stack up four adapters to get up to the 2″ dia. pipe size and then the whole thing was too tall – but that was my problem. Once I did get that figured out – after we returned from vacation – the pump would not work. I even tried the pump in my kitchen sink. Just a little water would gurgle out occasionally. By this time the return period had expired. I disassembled the pump – but there were no problems there. I think I just got a bad one. The price is great, so I might try ordering a new one.I’d like to update this review: The manufacturer of the pump saw my review here and contacted me and said they wanted to send me a replacement pump free of charge. They sent a new pump and I am happy to say it works very well. It appears to pump more than the rated 1056 GPH. I have another pump that is rated at 900 GPM and this pump delivers a much greater volume of water. It also has a fair amount of pressure – so the volume doesn’t diminish a lot when pumping to the top of my waterfall. The pump has a valve at the inlet to adjust the volume of water – it seems to work pretty well. One piece of advice: When I first received this pump I tested it my kitchen sink – bad move – it blasted a column of water up to the ceiling and all over the floor – my wife happened to walk in right at that moment. Thanks to the manufacture for send me a new pump – even though the return period had expired. I would absolutely purchase again.Good customer service is tough to find these days. It is nice to work with a company that stands behind their products.

It has quit working but apparently I cannot return it.
I’m elderly anc could not install it myself consequently had to wait for the right person to install it. It worked for a few days then quit. I thought it might be the power source so again waited until the electrician had checked that .. everything about the motor was clean, nothing clogged – it simply quit working. Then I had to wait to have someone disconnect and remove the pump and now I cannot return it because the time is up. This is EXACTLY the same motor I had before, same item number, purchased from the same place – it worked for 3 or 4 years; then I looked up on Amazon where I’d purchased it and “bought it again” .. This particular motor simply does not work. I also bought insurance for it but do not know how that works. I’m stymied, and need advice.

Good but heavy
So far I have had no issues with the pump. One thing that has bothered me is the flow restrictor. You can screw it in or unscrew it for more or less flow. The difference between hardly screwed in and completely removed completely is QUITE drastic. The issue with completely removing it is the water completely bypasses the pre filter sponge which would allow debris to get into the pump and potentially damage or clog the impeller. On a side note I wish I had a wattage reader because I reeeeeally hope this pump isn’t drawing 270+ watts.Overall 8/10

Great Internal Water Pump
My water pump is doing an awesome job after 1 month now. I’ve created my own DIY filtering system, needed a filter and took a chance after reading the reviews on this. We weren’t really worried about any sound issue, but…wow, this thing is silent in my indoor 75G Turtle tank. Excellent product, and I’m sure I’ll purchase another for the second tank later this year!

Everyone probably knows that ducks love water. What they might not know—except through experience taking care of them—is that they are the messiest creatures on the planet. In short: fowl are foul. I started working out a way to make the quacks happy by giving them water in a kiddie pool, but they make it SO dirty in only a few hours, which means that I have to constantly change the water every day or two and waste a lot of water! To avoid this issue, I decided to make a filtration system that would clean the water. I did A LOT of research, and ended up piecing together my own system using different ideas from multiple filtration systems. The hardest part was deciding on the right pump to use with nasty dirty quacks. Having no prior experience using any kind of water pump, I tried to find one that would handle a lot of punishment in the duck water. I’m only using a kiddie pool (probably less than 100 gallons), so a pump with over 1,000 GPH should keep the water clear, at least when the ducks aren’t swimming. Running with the valve fully open, the pump would circulate the water approximately 10 times each hour. I haven’t tested this yet to see if this is accurate, but out if the box it puts out a lot of pressure! I am using 3/4 inch pvc pipes, and it would definitely meet and possibly exceed the 12 foot head height that was boasted about this product, depending on the setup you use.Having only run the system for about 15 hours, I have seen a lot if crud building up on the built-in filter for this pump. The dirt and other debris in the filter was very manageable and wasn’t serious enough to impact the pump’s functionality. It’s extremely easy to pop out the filter and cleaned it. Some people have said that they struggled getting the filter out, but they must gave used a different pump because it literally takes seconds to disassemble, clean, and reassemble. It was easy to clean off, but I definitely cannot wait to improve my system by adding a pre-filter to my pump.I will try to update this review later when my ducks have had more time to abuse this pump.

I was relunctant to buy yet ANOTHER pump for my pond
I had all but given up hope finding a pond pump that would actually last more than 3 months. But when I saw that everyone was buying the prefilter to go along with this pump I thought Wow now that makes sense! The little tiny prefilter on the pump itself is almost laughable. I live in Florida and boy does it get hot and the algae blooms are unbelivable. So you either have to clean your pump filter everyday or the pump is going to bite the dust soon. When an algae string gets wrapped around the shaft it doesn’t take long to bring it to a sudden stop. And if you’re not there to untangle it the pump just burns out. Now, I have had this pump only one week so I’m not positive this isn’t going to happen to this one but the prefilter seems to be built really nice and tight to not let those strings through to the propeller. The only tricky thing was figuring out how to attach the prefilter to the pump but once I went back and looked at the instructs provided on the order page no problem. The instructions that came with the pump were useless. I think they were in French and they didn’t have any pictures to show you how it came apart. The only gripe I have with the pump is that it was a challenge (and still is) getting the fountain spray kit that I picked up at home depot to solidly connect to the pump. The only thing I could find to connect the two was a small section of the flexible pipe that was included with the pump. This made it floppy and the water pressure blew it apart several times. I think I may have found a solution but haven’t tried it yet. With the prefilter you can no longer regulate the flow rate but with the fountain kit you can split the output so the fountain spray is at the height you desire. The other water can be routed back into the pond discreetly through a tube under the water or through another post filter. My water is really dirty and needs extra help right now so that’s what I did. Oh the other thing I wanted to say is that whenever I turn the pump on I have it submerged it in water. Once it’s pumping okay then I can take the pump out of the water. It seems to need to be in water to get primed. I don’t like the idea of the pump in the water all the time. It just gets really slimed up and takes away precious space in my little pond.

Nice, quiet pump, but I changed to a large filter
This is a nice, small, quiet pump, pumping water from my small pond 5 feet up to the waterfall. After reading all the reviews I concluded that I did not want to fool with cleaning the small filter very often, as many have complained about. My previous pump had a separate, very large filter attached to it (not part of that old pump) which I nearly never had to clean. So I took this new pump and my large filter to the local plumbing store and bought some simple PVC tubes that I cut and Gorilla glued on to the new pump. (There is no provision on this pump to easily attach anything to the input port.)Once the PVC tubes were attached to the input port (after removing the small filter) I simply attached my large filter to it. Works great now and don’t need to think about frequent filter cleaning, if ever!Contrary to some others’ wrong statements, this filter *does* have a flow adjustment valve.Recommended, if you add a large filter.

GREAT and POWERFUL pump!
This pump is much more than I expected. I bought it for a 2,244 gallon fish pond and the power that came out of the pump was surprising! The water goes from the deepest part of the pond (34 inches) up and out of the pond through 8 foot of tubing which connects to the filter (we used 1-inch diameter TETRAPOND Pond Tubing and the SUNSUN GRECH CPF-3500 11W UVC PRESSURIZED BIO POND FILTER 1849gph), then from the filter through another 15 feet of tubing to a 4 foot high waterfall (we use a HUSKY STACKABALE STORAGE BIN 31.25″ wide from Home Depot for our waterfall that my husband drilled a hole in the side of for the tubing) and the water comes out strong! Much stronger than I would have ever expected. I thought I would have to get another pump for the waterfall but we tested it first and found we did not. Would HIGHLY recommend this pump.

Great output for the price
Well, i don’t yet know how long it will last, but for the price compared to the big name brands it pumos alot of water. It also comes with more adapters than most pumps i have bought in the past. It is also nice that it works inline, or as a sump type pump. I am using it inline, so i don’t really know how well it would handle debris, or how often the prefilter would need to be cleaned. It is not advertised, or designed to be a debris handling pump, so i think it is best suited for inline use. Nice long power cord. I do not think it would be easy to find a replacement im impeller, so it may be done when the impeller wears out which would be dissappointing, but thats when the low price becomes an advantage. I have bern dealing with ponds and fish tanks, to include working in the pet industry for over 25 years, and i am currently very pleased.

Good inexpensive pump
I have two of these pumps going 24/7. The first is three years old, the other is two. They work well, but as they age they don’t always restart if theres a power outage. I repeatedly plug them in and listen for the sound they make when pumping. The impellor sometimes just vibrates , then stops. I looked down the outlet to see what was going on. It’s not a big deal in the summer, but when the water is cold in the winter it can get old. I also just found out that the 1056 GPH model is 278 watts. I will be replacing these pumps with asynchronous versions that use about 100 watts and have a similar flow rate. They have served us well and I will keep them as backups.

Very nice pump for an old converted hot tub pond!
Does everything it is supposed to do and does it well. I divert most of the flow to flush the feet area of the “pond” an old hot tub I converted when I moved here. (It was permanent, built in-ground with a concrete pad around it) and another hose to swirl the seat area of the pond. The fountain is actually sitting on a flat filter box outfitted with LED marker lights for cars/trucks. They are Cheap and Water Proof a suggestion you might consider.Pump is heavier/larger than I expected but I take that as a plus in my case. Feels well built.

I personally don’t have anything I dislike about it. It flows great very strong and quite! Easy to hook up only thing was the filter smelled a little like well plastic/rubber so I cleaned that before I went ahead and put it in my tank but overall very happy with this purchase! Definitely recommend if you’re building your own diy filter that’s what I used it for

This is by far the best one for the price if you have a bile …
This is by far the best one for the price if you have a bile box to put this in make sure it’s the tall one because mine it didn’t fit so you can get about a quarter of an inch by sliding off the bottom mount in mine would fit if I cut the handle off but I just don’t feel like cutting a brand new pump it is amazing pumps fast my water is crystal clear but I am using bio balls and I have plants in the water so the ammonia from the waste from the fish feed the plants yet cleaning the water at the same time kind of an aquaponics type setup

Bought this pump to replace my old 700 GPH pump that died after 4 years. The included connectors had a size that fit my current tubing perfectly. Can’t testify as to whether it actually moves 1056 GPH but I did think the flow was better than with my old pump. This video was taken after the pump had been in operation for 11 days without cleaning the filter and my pond was rather dirty after not having a pump running my filtration system for 5 days. I did notice the flow starting slowing at day 14 and then I cleaned the built-in filter. Easy to clean, only took 5 – 10 minutes. Great price, hope it lasts a while.

This works through Michigan winters!!
I am using the pump in my rickity old fish pond. It has bunch of very large koi (aka feeder gold fish.) I have 2 of these pumps. One to replace the other when it’s time to clean the one in the water. For 2 winters now I keep waiting for the ice from my metal roof to slide off and crush the pump that is right under it. Guess what! The ice falling on it hasn’t fazed this pump or being buried in snow. It keep sopen water.. It is sturdy!!! Also, outflow is adjustable. It comes with an assortment of different sized gizzys for connecting the outflow pipe. Obviously I love it!!

Good pump for price. Too tall though.
I found it was somewhat of a challenge to change out the the supplied fitting to attach to my fountain hose. In the end after I put several fittings on the pump in order to make it fit my application it made the pump too high to fit inside the fountain. I had to lay it on its side to fit. Seems to work okay. Has a nice filter systems to keep debris from clogging pump. Easy to clean. Pump itself is quite a workhorse for the price. Wish it were configured differently.

Works great
I use this pump for our garden pond to supply the filter and then up to the waterfall. Has plenty of power in fact we had to turn the flow down

Dependable Pump
This isn’t the first one we purchased, and probably won’t be the last. They are dependable, affordable units. We run them 24/7 for the health of huge wine vats of adult koi, which winter indoors.

Awesome output

So far, so good with this pump. Ive been buying the more common names for years and replacing them about every 2 years for one reason or another. Only time will tell if this will hold up any better than those but so far, Im happy with the output of this pump.It is currently plumbed through a barrel type of filter to run down my small fall set up. Although I have a lot of water running under and around my steps of the fall, Ive still got plenty over the top where it counts. Creates that relaxing sound of water so sitting outside is pleasurable again.Sadly, at the time of this posting, I am fighting a big algae bloom as the temps sky rocketed the other day warming the water.

Lack of information
The pump works great, as powerful as expected. The issue is with advertised ability to connect to filter- there are no extractions on how to do it.When I was finally able to figure out how to do it, now I’m unable to control water pressure .The pictures on the website also shows ability to add fountain extensions, but no where on the website did it prompt me for option to buy one.All in all – good purchase, but I ended up only buying 50% pic the solution, unfortunately.
