Great for your average dog
The Burt’s Bees 2-in-1 tearless shampoo and conditioner for puppies is overall a great product for the average dog owner. I own a cattle dog mix who is almost two years old. He has quite long and silky fur, a considerable amount of brush on his tail, and no undercoat. He doesn’t have any skin allergies. I feel as though I do have to use quite a bit of the product to really clean him all over, but that may be because he has so much fur in some places.I don’t bathe my dog often. I’ve only used this shampoo twice in the past 6 months (once when I first got him, and once for the coming of spring shedding). It’s still about 3/4 filled, or a bit more. I know it should definitely last until the end of the year.It doesn’t “lather” in the way you would expect a shampoo to—since it has no sulfates, it doesn’t foam up like most human shampoos do. However, a pet shampoo without sulfates is actually a great idea. Sulfates essentially help increase the effectiveness of the shampoo in cleaning dirt, oil, dead skin, and all that other junk. On the other hand, sulfates can be too powerful and strip away the natural proteins and oils from hair, which can cause irritation and damage. Your dog’s fur is their first line of defense, so you don’t want to damage it! I would always recommend to go for a shampoo without sulfates, like this one.I’m not sure about the other varieties of the Burt’s Bees for Dogs shampoos, but as for this one, when it says no fragrances, it means it. This has absolutely no scent. I noticed a couple of the other ones might smell like lavender or apple, but this one? Nothing. So after the bath, my dog just smells like wet dog until he’s dried. If that doesn’t bother you, this one could be for you. If you want a more pleasant scent, maybe you could try another variety, like the calming shampoo? Regardless, the lack of scent doesn’t change the effectiveness of the shampoo, and its scentlessness/lack of fragrances is great for sensitive dogs.I can’t speak for all owners, such as those who bathe their dogs often or show them, but for an ordinary dog owner who just bathes their dogs a couple times a year, this one could be for you! For only $7.49, this lasts a long time and works tremendously well. My dog always gets compliments on his coat and I’ve been asked if I take him to the groomers. 🙂 All in all, it’s a bargain for a new puppy or dog owner.

Why is Dog shampoo so thin?
I dislike the fact that the shampoo was so thin and runny. I felt like I had to use a half a bottle just to lather and bathe my dog. The product itself was fragrance free and seemed to clean fine, after using half a bottle! I will not buy again and I do not recommend it!

Not exactly as natural as I thought.
I loved the price on this and snatched it up thinking it would be perfect since it was natural. The first thing I noticed was the smell… not that it’s really bad, but it’s not really good either. Although, I guess that’s what you get being fragrance free. However, I won’t be buying this again. Not because of the smell, but because of these two ingredients: Cocamidopropyl betaine and Phenoxyethanol. Both these have potential to cause skin irritation, allergic reactions, or worse. I won’t get all into it here, but look them up for yourself, especially if you have a small dog, bathe your dog often, and/or have a dog with allergies, sensitive skin, or immune issues. So if you’re into low-tox like me, the best chance you’ve got is to search for certified organic products. I will still look up each ingredient and make an educated choice I can feel good about. Sadly, what I’ve found thus far is more than the $5 I paid for this stuff.

Dried her fur out, smelled good though
I would rate this 3.5stars rounded to 4. The dry shampoos actually smell much better. I don’t like em the smell of wet dog but what’s worse is smelling wet dog and baby powder scent. This doesn’t have that at least but it really dried out my puppy’s skin and coat! She was itchy afterward. While her fur was clean, it lost all its sheen, felt dry and coarse. The scent is nice, it’s gentle but since the price was so low, I knew this company must have changed hands. They did. I’m less impressed paying for what used to be an ethical company. I’d pay a little extra for something else next time

It works like baby shampoo. Nothing special to keep her skin moisturized. Not excited about the shampoo.

No issues
It doesn’t lather or foam, but it worked well, the scent was so mild you barely smell anything. It didn’t irritate my frenchie and his coat was very soft after

Great around your puppies face
I have an older Shih Tzu, and washing around her eyes can be difficult, this product is wonderful and it doesn’t irritate her eyes at all so her bath can be nice and fast just the way she prefers it. I will definitely purchase this product again

Does the Job
The media could not be loaded.
I bought this because burt’s bees is a brand I trust to have decent ingredients and I wanted something gentle for my puppy’s first bath. It did the job, however it doesn’t lather the best. Also doesn’t have any harsh smell so that was nice.

Liquid consistency?
I really like the scent and how gentle it is. Idk if it’s supposed to be or not but the one I got was SEVERELY watery, it legit looked like cloudy water was coming out of the container (obviously it was product but the consistency was not like normal dog shampoo/conditioner). So I dunno if I got a bad batch or if the watery consistency is intended because it is for puppies? I wish I could rate the overall product at 5 stars but with it being so watery, a lot of product was wasted falling out as I was trying to set it back upright after adding some to my palms.

works great for puppies
we got a puppy that was living on a farm before us. I wanted to be prepared when we got her home to give her a good bath. I used this on her and her fur was so soft after use. It is a bit watery and you feel like you have to use a lot to suds up on the dog but it is well worth it.. She did not smell like wet dog after her bath like with most dog washes.

They need to work on packing products better for shipping.
I Ordered the Jug because of all the reviews of people getting leaking bottles. I assumed the jug would be sealed better and I was right with that assumption. The problem is the box they put the jug in was not any bigger than the jug itself. No packing material nothing, So as soon as the box gets a little weight put on it bam you have a spill. The seal on my Jug blew and had enough pressure to unscrew the cap halfway. I only ordered that big jug so i would not have a leak… sigh.Good news is they smartened up and put the box the jug was in, in a bigger box. The second jug seal is intact, odd things is I got a hand pump this time but i did not get one with the first jug. complimentary? or was I supposed to have the hand pump to begin with? The product itself seems Great, I will keep purchasing.

Great product
Our pup has sensitive skin and this has always, thankfully, worked beautifully. Does not dry out or irritate his skin and is not perfumed to bother him or us. Suds well but rinses easily. Also ships with a tape over the nozzle so it does not leak in any way. Never had any issues with the bottles received. Our pup is 8mos and we’ve been doing baths near weekly, no issues with shampoo left in the coat, irritation to the skin or not cleaning thoroughly. Very satisfied.

Good dog shampoo
This stuff is okay. It smells good and leaves my dog smelling fresh. But I feel like I had to use a ton more of it than necessary because I couldn’t tell where on my dog I had cleaned. I wish it lathered more.

10th bottle purchased!
I feel good bathing my miniature schnauzer in natural ingredients. Of course, we do the best we can to avoid the eye area but the no tears makes me feel even better. There has been no skin issues and his fur is soft and clean after bath time. Thanks for making such wonderful product. 1

Works well with a liberal dose
I use a LOT of shampoo on my 7 month old Labrador pup, but she comes out clean and with a nice neutral smell. People always comment about how nice, soft and shiny her coat is. After about a week she starts to smell again – so we bathe her about once a week with this product.Other, non natural products probably do a better job of keeping her smelling nice, but I use natural products for myself and for my animals.

Shampoo is good
I like the shampoo from this set. It is a bit watery, so it doesn’t last too long if you have a dog with longer hair. The detangler was a bit strange in that it was a bit soap-like when I put it on his hair. It also didn’t really work for his fine, fluffy hair.

Clean dogs, no weird smell, doesn’t seem to irritate their eyes or skin.
Great shampoo, would buy again. I’d prefer it to be in bar form — would be easier to use on a dog, plus one less 1000-year plastic product — so it only gets a 4 for that reason.

Too dilute and watery?!!!
I can’t wait to finish this product and be done with it. I do love that it’s “natural” and doesn’t burn my yorkies eyes when I wash her face. But this liquid wash is just too dilute and watery for me. I almost have to use a quarter to a third of the bottle for minimal lather or suds. I’m sometimes left questioning if I’m just rinsing her with water or WASHING her.

Perfect for puppies!
The media could not be loaded.
My Bernedoodle puppy has really soft fur and I wanted some thing that could help me maintain that. This shampoo was perfect! It’s really gentle, so he doesn’t seem irritated, and it doesn’t have a strange odor like some of the others I’ve tried. I the reason we tried this shampoo was because of the excessive scratching my puppy was doing. I spoke with his vet, and she suggested this so we got it and I’m very happy with the results.

Gentle and tearless
Perfect for my Coton dog. I bathe him every 1.5 weeks and don’t want to use strong shampoo as it will dry out their skin/coat. Other than it not being bubbly, I like the smell and how gentle it is for my pup.

It’s okay, dog smells neutral
You have to use a lot of product to get a good clean. I hated the smell of this, but it didn’t last more than 2-3 days and wasn’t a strong scent, and better than dirty dog smell soo, meh. I think the one big benefit of it was my dog seemed to smell better for a longer time than other brands. I just washed my dog recently with a different brand, and she’s stinky sooner than I thought she should be.

Good price, cleans well, but puppy still has a “dog” smell.
We bought 2 bottles of this over a year ago when my miniature schnauzer was a puppy and we were first time pet owners. We saw it available everywhere and figured it must be the stuff to use. So we have been using it all this time, until recently. I felt like it took a lot of product to really get him clean. It did suds.up, but not like human shampoo. When he was done, he didn’t smell clean and fresh. He still smells like a dog, just less like a dirty dog. Recently we decided to try something else. My dog smells so much better now, for at least a week. My dog doesn’t have skin problems, so he was fine with the change. So my recommendation is that a new dog, stick with this, but if he has no problems, then switch to something that smells a little better.

Disappointed…doesn’t smell good
I like this brand on many things BUT dog shampoo is not one of them. I gave my dog a good bath and after my husband came home the dog jumped in his lap and he took a whiff and asked If I gave the dog a bath. I told him yes, he wrinkled his nose and felt her fur and it wasn’t soft at all either. Needless to say I went back to the previous shampoo. All is right with the world once more 🙂

Much prefer tearless shampoo WITHOUT conditioner
I really like the Burt’s Bees tearless shampoo. It says puppies, but I’ve kept using it as I really have to work on the eye discharge with my dog.I tried this 2-in-1 trying to save time. But it just doesn’t produce a good lather. It just feels like a conditioner but not a shampoo.Going back to a two-step process with Burt’s other products.

No lather.
There is no lather to this shampoo regardless of how much I put on my little dog. It does, however, not sting the dog’s eyes if I should get a drop of wet hair in her eyes. There is no scent which some people may like and therefore this could be good for you but I like a little fresh smell after the bath. Hair (fur) is soft after drying which is a plus also. I would not buy it again, however.
