Honestly I was not expecting much, but I was at my wit’s end. My dog is extremely noise sensitive and reacts every single time he sees someone go by on the street. We live in New York so you can imagine his barking had become constant. I tried everything – calming probiotics, removing the stimulus, classical music (which worked but had me at the end of my rope as I had to have it on ALL the time), training to go to place, training to respond to quiet, cbd. I was considering resorting to an ultrasonic anti-barking device but I heard they were inhumane as they work by hurting the dog’s ears. I figured I had literally nothing to lose.This worked within 8 hours. I plugged it in, went to work. Came home and hardly any barking whatsoever. His threshold for what will trigger him is much wider now and he does not respond to every single noise on the street. Did it completely eliminate the barking? No. And I wouldn’t want that. But he is clearly so much calmer. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Works for us!!
We have 2 senior dogs, a 9 year old and a 10 year old. The 10 year old has always been an extremely anxious dog who’s afraid of his own shadow. He shakes constantly, licks obsessively, and barks at everything. Lately he’s started secretly marking our couch, which I discovered when I caught a wiff of pee and used a blacklight in the dark to locate the source. I read that could be an anxiety reaction to claim “his” spaces. Idk but I’m desperate to correct this.While I cannot say if this product will help with his new found hobby of marking my couch, I am incredibly impressed in how his mood has changed since I’ve plugged this in. Our dog no longer shakes constantly. HE NO LONGER SHAKES. That statement is HUGE if you know my husband’s dog. His obsessive licking his paws, the couch, me, etc. has definitely decreased also. He seems more confident & less scared all the time. They both are barking at routine noises a bit less as well. I wish I’d thought of finding a product sooner, when I met his dog, because I feel his quality of life has improved drastically.I will be a repeat customer for the lifetime of our dogs. Highly recommend.Initially it did smell a bit like hot plastic when I plugged it in. I don’t smell anything now. Also, I use a Bath & Body Works scent plug in in the same room, on the opposite side, and this is still working somehow. I wasn’t sure if that would counteract this product but it doesn’t seem to be for us!

AMAZING
My dog suffers from anxiety and has been on Trazadone & Gabapentin for years. Mostly just for car rides but this year her health has been rough and it has increased her anxiety to needing drugs at home which I hate doing… within the first hour of plugging this in, OMG she is like a different dog!! She didn’t cry for no reason, like she has for weeks. She just was calm and not the “high” “sleepy” calm the drugs make her feel, she just seemed balanced. She wanted to cuddle again and she wasn’t pacing. I could cry I’m so happy!! We only gave her 1 dose of trazadone this weekend instead of 6 doses. My anxiety is relieved because she is not anxious or restless, she seems happy. My goofball is back, I also bought a thunder jacket and the beating heart puppy too because I was desperate for something to work.

A monthly purchase
Originally got this to help our rescue mixed Griffin terrier. She was apparently badly abused and it appeared to help her keep calm. She has since passed but my 5 yr old beagle isn’t quite as mischievous, Worthwhile I think.

Really works–promotes a less reactive dog
I’ve had this plugged in for over a week or so now and have noticed it helps my dog stay a lot calmer inside and less reactive to the door (helps when no one rings the doorbell too). He noticed it right away when we plugged it in and went over to smell it. He seems to understand the smell and it helps keep him calm. I notice less barking, whining, and alertness by the door and in the house. Will keep using! We also unplug it at night to help conserve the use of it and make it last longer. Really great to use for your older dog or new puppy.

IF IT DIDN’T LEAK
I would give this product 4 stars without batting an eye maybe 5. I did subscribe and save and first one was great. The next one awful. Leaked all over the floor in a matter of days. Mini licked it up before I discovered and poor baby was sick (all over our bed) . I dud not k own why as item was tucked out if the way and not easy to see. I figured it out when I saw empty bottle a d oily floor. Contacted Amazon, they se t replacement. AT MY EXPENSE. Said they would credit me . Did not. I still got my subscribe and save order a week or so later.. so this cost about 60.00 for a little more than a week. The next 2 bottles leaked as well but not as fast. Probably a production issue all from same batch. So pass the expense on to loyal su scribe a d save customers. I’m looking for another product. Oh and doggie was quite lethargic during the big leak. I was quite worried.

Kinda expensive.. but I think
It’s worth trying for another month. I kinda forgot about it after the 4th was over… But it ran out about 2 days ago and the dog has been kinda high strung and barking more than usual these past 2 days exactly. So we’ve only been using it for four weeks and I think it’s worth to keep it going another month.

Teacup Chihuahua had relief from separation anxiety in minutes
I wasn’t expecting to see the fast results. Our little guy is a rescue and we only had for a month. Every time we had to leave him, he would howl until we return. I have a camera on him. But when I introduced the diffuser with Pheranomes into his safe space, he is calm and rests in his bed for most of the time we are gone. Works like a charm. The secret is a small room and of course we have a very small dog with a big personality.

Miracle in a Plug In!
TO ALL SCHNAUZER LOVERS, OLD AND NEW!I have found a miracle!If you want to safely and naturally, slow down your hyperactive, biting schnauzer, that barks at everything, plug in one of these. It replicates a mother dog’s pheromones, making pets feel more comfortable and secure. One of my dogs was skiddish. He’s all out of his shell, bringing me gifts, not running to his bed, etc.I’ve got 4 schnauzers of various ages, and its always a party. Well the party has slowed down. They still get a charge from the door bell and squirrels, but they are not all over the place looking for things to get in to. I also have started clicker and whistle training for their barking. All is working well with the four. They see something, bark at it approx 3-4 times, then come back to me. Their ages range from 15 years to 3 years. And its working for all of them. With no ill effects. Also, when I leave the house, there is no chewing of anything and nothing was PEED on! I love this stuff!

Updated a year later.
UPDATE AFTER A FULL YEAR OF USAGE: Does not really work. I would still plug it in because I was desperate for anything to work.. even bought refills but honestly it never worked. :(I will update this review after a few more weeks of usage, however I’ll briefly describe the experience thus far (4 days into having the diffuser plugged in.) The package came in perfect condition with every piece included so no complaints there. When I plugged it in, per other review’s complaints, I checked to make sure it wasn’t getting too hot or burning. It wasn’t so all good on the burning/too hot issue! I cannot smell it at all. My dog (15 month old lab mix) seems to like it, or at least doesn’t mind it. He goes in his crate a lot recently (I plugged it in right next to his crate for calming reasons.) I will hopefully have good things to review in a few weeks but it came just as expected with no problems so far. I also use Zesty’s calming bites, Thundershirt, and an organic calming spray for dogs.

Doesn’t work for my dog unfortunately
My dog has had no change since plugging this in a few weeks ago. He howls all night when I leave for work and needs to be in a crate or he will absolutely destroy my apartment. This is the latest in many many expenses to try to fix this behavior and nothing seems to work. Causing me a great deal of stress knowing that he is making so much noise all night when I have neighbors.

Dogs are chill
my 15 year old chihuahua is a drama queen who gets nervous when I leave. he used to bark nonstop. my neighbor and i are in a battle right now, she hates me and she hates him. she also hates my pomeranian. i hate her. well, i bought this and now he’s calm and happy. he sleeps and relaxes most of the time im gone. i’d say it works pretty well 🙂

THIS WORKS!!!!!!!
My dog, like most, is fearful of fireworks. She shakes, trembles, and hides. Only when it’s 4th of July (/around that time) do we see this side of her. Normally she is a confident, happy, and calm yellow lab. There’s been nothing I can do to console her during fireworks, other than try to hold her. As 4th of July is nearing, I found this option. I figured it was worth a shot. I ordered it on July 2nd and got it that night. I didn’t have high hopes but anything to try to help.The fireworks started going off around 5pm, she heard them and popped her head up, but she didn’t run away and shake. She was easy to calm and slept almost right away of my plugging in the diffuser. Throughout the night more fireworks went off and she didn’t mind. She slept throughout the night; without this she trembles and hides various places. I am stunned this worked so well. Do yourself a favor and your dog. Get this.

Calming diffuser
While this was recommended by others as well as a vet, we have not seen any improvement with our dog. He is still very destructive if left with no human interaction. He has another dog in the house that we hoped would assist in his separation anxiety, but that has not been the case either. He is a very large dog and was adopted months 6 months ago. We have had the other dog since 2012. It could be that this may not be effective on his breed. He is an Anatolian Shepherd that spent 12 months of 18 months of his life in a shelter. We plugged in the diffuser almost a month ago, and have not seen any improvement.

No Indicator light!
Identical in every way to the Adaptil diffuser (see blue package) I purchased last November, EXCEPT, there is no indicator light on this one to let you know when it is empty. I didn’t realize that until I had to refill it the first time. Disappointing!

Very hot and not sure if works
Didn’t seem to work for my dog with separation anxiety, was hoping to calm him down when crated at night and when I leave. Didn’t see a difference, though he went right up to it and smelled it so it clearly has a smell to him though I couldn’t smell anything except a faint hint that something was added. Biggest issue was that the plugin gets very hot and living in a hot climate with this on in a bedroom made a huge impact it was 10 degrees hotter in that room with it on for just a few hours.

It depends on the dog
I have a newly adopted Maltese that has extreme separation anxiety accompanied with destructive behaviors. This seems to help her. She still cries a lot when I’m gone, but I’d say she’s about 75% less destructive.The reason I say it depends on the dog is because I had one of these for my last dog, a yorkie, and it did nothing for him. I was desperate this time, so decided to try it again. I’m glad that I did.

Huge Help!
This product has made a huge difference for our 11 year old Golden Retriever, Riley. It arrived on his birthday. It was easy to assemble and install. It arrived during a week when we were having daily “end of the world” thunder and lightning storms. After I installed it, about 10 or 15 minutes later he went over and sniffed it, and then lay down. About an hour later, we heard the storms in the distance. Normally that starts him panting. The storm arrived in all its fury. The only thing that Riley did was to go to our bedroom and go to sleep. The storms left and he perked up and decided that he wanted to go outside.For the past month storms have come and gone and they have been largely a non-event. He goes down to the bedroom and sleeps. We have noticed him go and sniff the vaporizer every now and again.What a wonderful improvement! He is such a sweet dog. It was worrisome to us that he was so stressed by the storms. Furthermore, he was calm during the July 4th seemingly endless neighborhood fireworks that started on about July 1 and continued for about seven days.Great product. We purchased a three month supply. If we need to evacuate for a hurricane, Riley will likely pack it first.I strongly recommend that you try Thunderease. The only thing that I would suggest is that before putting in service, is putting it in place before a storm is imminent. Once in place, keep in place and replace it monthly. Putting in place before it is needed, makes it just part of normal.

Not a fix, but helps a lot!
My dog is terrified of thunder. So much it literally scares the poop out of her multiple times. She becomes a ball of anxiety and totally different personality. Sad thing is she used to watch storms with me in the backyard… guess age takes a toll. This is not a magic fix, for my dog she calms down a lot faster though. I live at the coast in the south east so from may until september we have daily storms it seems. I hate giving her trazdone, I used to take it myself and I know how it made me feel and it breaks my heart to see her completely doped up for a day after.I keep the plugin in whatever room we go to, turn on some linkin park music and the lights… those 3 sometimes make her not notice the storm, but she still looks for it. Prior to the plugin, she would be “crazy” for at least 2 hours after the storm… now she calms down WITHOUT DRUGS in about 30 minutes.

I have a dog which has severe separation anxiety. I tried the Finn chews, but while they helped to mellow her out, the separation anxiety remained. I tried some hemp seed oil which finally worked. However, since I was desperate for something to work, I also ordered the ThunderEase Dog Calming Pheromone Diffuser Kit, which I began using the following day after starting the hemp seed oil treatment. The oil worked after the first dose, so I’m not completely sure if the pheromones complement it or not. I will discontinue it’s use once it runs out and update my review if anything changes. I am able to leave my dog alone at home and when I return I do not find her waiting for me at the door whining and howling. She does still bark at strange sounds though, so hopefully that will change over time.

Not 100% but so much better
Seems to be working for our babies. They use to bark and/or whine at every little noise they heard. They have not stopped 100% but they are not reacting as much. Now it has to be someone coming to the door or another dog in our yard.Our one dog Kaya is a very anxious dog, she whines at anything. She seems to be less anxious. Things that use to bother her don’t get a reaction like they use to. Dozier, our blind boy, seems to react less to car doors closing, honking, dogs barking, etc. as well.I talked to my vet about these types of products and my vet recommended a layered approach for our dogs. They said that no one thing is going to work the best, but layering different things together can help more but nothing is going to be 100%. In addition to the plug in we are using a DAP collar and giving them some calming chews daily. With what we are doing I would say that we have seen at least a 60% reduction in reactions. We are happy with that, ecstatic actually!!!These types of things are NOT going to help with aggression in any animal. Aggression needs to be dealt with in training and conditioning. Agression takes work on your part. There is nothing over the counter that will stop barking, reacting, whining, etc. 100%.

Not sure if it works…but easy to use
My mom’s boxer mix is going through some anxiety, which, in combination with his reactivity and resource guarding is just a fun mix. We got this to see if it made any real difference, and honestly I can’t say it has or hasn’t. His behavior seems mostly the same, though we’ve been using a thunder jacket as well, which definitely does help and makes him feel a little more secure. He’s going through a lot of demand barking when he’s anxious or bored so we use the jacket in conjunction with training. Its possible the diffuser has helped a bit, and we’ll keep using it for a few months.

IT WORKS!!!
My husband and I recently (2 weeks ago recently) adopted a 4-year-old retired racing greyhound. Within the first week, he had taken to us well, but definitely still had some anxieties, specifically with loud noises and new people/places/dogs. I researched online, and figured it was worth a shot to try this diffuser. At first I put it in our living area, but after a day (and rereading the instructions), thought the area might be a bit too big/open for it to work properly. On Sunday, I moved it right behind his crate in our guest bedroom. For reference, his “safe place” in our home has been his dog bed in the living room- he took to it right away, and stopped spending as much time in his crate. On Wednesday, OUT OF NOWHERE, he started going into his crate more. Now, he’d rather be in his crate than anywhere else in the house. I’m POSITIVE it is because of this product. I’m not saying it will work for every dog, but it definitely worked in our situation! You can see in the pictures just how relaxed he is 🙂 and where I placed the diffuser in reference to his crate. I’d definitely say It’s worth a shot for a timid dog or one who is dealing with separation anxiety. Hope this helps!

Is working great
We have a 9 year old bichon terrier and a 1 year old golden doodle. The golden doodle recently started marking the house after months of no issues after being house-broken and neutered (could have been due to various reasons). Tried this remedy and the marking stopped over night. We only plug it in at night in our bedroom and the doodle sleeps underneath it most of the night. Both dogs love being relaxed in the bedroom as soon as we plug it in nightly. We only smelled the “burning” scent the first two nights. Great product for us. Definitely recommend trying.

Made a mess, customer service nonexistent & didn’t honor guarantee
After about 7-10 days, we noticed an oily mess on the counter below it. The only spot we could put it was in the kitchen, because it takes up 2 plugs (can’t plug anything else in the outlet) and requires a vertical outlet — most of the outlets in our old house are horizontal. On closer inspection, the diffuser had evaporated almost all the oil (it’s supposed to last 30 days) onto the bottom of the cabinet above and the oil had then run down the wall and onto the counter. I didn’t notice any change in our dog’s behavior.I contacted the manufacturer through Amazon (the package says go through the point of purchase for their guarantee) and got no response. Amazon reached out twice with a survey to ask if the manufacturer had responded and I said no, but I don’t think that meant anything. I then contacted the company through email and again got no response. So much for their money-back guarantee! What a waste.

I’m not sure what to think about this product. First off the outside box said “see inside for instructions” and there were no instructions inside. The diffuser and liquid refill were also floating in the bottom and the paper packaging that was supposed to hold them was ripped so I’m not sure if I got a used/returned item….In regard to how it works, I haven’t noticed any major differences. I am using it for separation anxiety with my rescued pup. Some days I come home and he is super calm, others he is freaking out again (excessive slobbering, barking, whining, jumping etc) this has nothing to do with the amount of time I’m gone. Some shorter periods he is worse. So I guess the product has been hit or miss for me?I also know other reviewers said that it took a while for them to notice any effect, and I have only had it for a few days. So we’ll see!!

NO noticeable difference except for…
… for the dent in my wallet. I bought 4 diffusers and 2 months’ of inserts. I wanted these things in the bedroom, living room, den and office: the primary places our two money pit shih tzus hang out. I bought them before Independence Day because Lucy is petrified of loud noises… thunder, fireworks, etc. Even with this going round the clock for the week leading up to the festivities, in multiple locations in the house, she was no less panicked or trembling in terror. After two months of running these diffusers night and day, there was no appreciable reduction in stress for our dogs.You may have different results, of course: but we gave this product every chance to impress us and it failed.

A good addition to the anti-thunder arsenal
I have a big dog that does not deal well with thunderstorms. So imagine the ‘fun’ we have during monsoon with almost daily thunderstorms and there are days were the storms roll through in bands providing nearly 12 hours of thunder. I use all sorts of stuff from the white noise of fans, classical music, and calm aid supplements during monsoon season. By the end of the season we have it down to a science. It seems as he gets older he gets more stressed over the sounds and what worked last season needs to be pumped up. I have even tried an earmuff to filter/limit the noise that he hears with hilarious results. After about a week of using this kit I noticed that he seemed calmer and stayed in the general area where the diffuser is located. He still is showing signs of stress; yet, it is manageable with a blanket and lots of attention.

Doesn’t work for our dog, in fact I think it makes her more anxious with new symptoms
So we adopted our dog and from day one the min we leave she goes into an anxiety attack where so shivers, will stop eating or drinking till we return whether its 5 min or 4-5 hours, she hyperventilates so much that her whole front side and the carpet she sits on is soaking wet in her saliva. We’ve tried the basics like calming treats and the more medicated treats, along with some over the counter meds. Nothing works unless you sedate her which we do when we fly international, but for daily use, that’s not an option. So someone had recommended this. I had gone to Petco and they’ve didn’t know much about it and the price was 60+ for it. I searched it on Amazon and found it for half the price. So why not give it a try. With high expectations for this diffuser we plugged it in and before judging we gave it a good 1 plus weeks of the diffuser to work its magic. We started noticing new nervous behavior for out dog the min she’s noticed we were getting ready to leave….she added new habits to her dealing with us out by pacing and trying to dig her way out of the front door. It might work for others so I can’t say it doesn’t work but it didn’t work for us or for the severe anxiety that our dog has. I wont be buying the refils needless to say.

It may work for some, but it didn’t work for my dog
I had low expectations buying this as my dog has separation anxiety and I’ve been trying everything possible before getting her meds from the vet., Your results may be different but almost immediately my dog had the opposite reacting to it as she was going crazy even though I’m home and her area is the kitchen which I have fenced off when I’m not home and leave the gate open for her when I’m home… Normally she willing goes in and out of her area to sleep eat etc when I’m home… She would not even step a foot near the kitchen when I had this plugged in.

My two dogs are happy!i
Once we set up this Thunderease diffuser for dogs, within minutes our two small dogs were contentedly “filleted” on the living room floor. Flat on their sides and snoring.They have both been nerves up by sharp noises, such as when I snap my gum. Much more upset by fireworks set off!I purchased this to help take the edge off their emotions over July 4th… Plugged it in early, as a test run. Yes it really works! I would pay more for it, if I had to. One dog stopped chewing on herself, A behavior we have tried to cure for the last couple of years. Both dogs are letting their guard down and just hanging out. When the explosions start in the evening, they don’t seem to react and do not run to hide in the closet or under the bed.After ten years of spending every major holiday, especially 4th of July, in bed with the dogs between us and under the covers, we are truly grateful.We highly recommend THUNDEREASE for dogs. It really works for us!Also the Thunder coat for dogs, although the pheromone products do work better.Worth every penny in our opinion!

Saving me & my dogs
I moved with my dogs and I felt like they got super depressed and refusing food etc. This has really helped and I think the hormones may be working on calming me over this too! Lol

This did not seem to make a difference
I purchased this to hopefully help my Boxer with her anxiety. It honestly did not seem to make any difference. It is way too expensive to not make a difference .

Don’t know if it does anything
I didn’t really have a control variable when starting to use this. My dog also started daycare and I did some separation training. I got this for her originally for seperation anxiety. I don’t know if it caused any change because I feel like daycare and the training could have been the main factors in her separation anxiety decreasing.

The multipack is best for value.
I got the one with the diffuser and two refills which was, oddly, cheaper than other options with less (?). It seems to work. Who knows! My dog’s an anxious dude and it seems to take that little edge off along with regular play, brain games, stimulation, and training.

Worked within an hr
My 4 yr old lab has a lot of anxiety issues and can never calm down.An hour after I plugged this in, she stopped hyperventilating. It’s going on the third day of being plugged in and my dog has never been more calm and relaxed. It’s almost like an entirely different dog. I wish I knew about this stuff sooner. Could’ve prevented so much misbehavior

well doesn’t calm any dog down lmao i can just say that right off the bat. Besides it not working, it leaves a nasty yellow wet oily mess on the wall. Yeah thats not safe if you ask me

Doesn’t seem to help
This doesn’t seem to be helping our puppies when we are gone. We watch them on the camera and they are still whining and screaming trying to get out of the crate while this is plugged in and pointing right at them.
